a month agoThe room was very clean, the beds were comfortable and the water pressure was amazing! The staff were all very friendly and the atmosphere was inviting. We enjoyed sitting by the fire pit outside in the evening. There is also a decent sized walk-in closet if you’re staying for a while. The pool temp was decent, the jacuzzi/hot tub perfect, and the room temp made it feel like summer. The breakfast was goo, but the only thing missing was a waffle maker (per my daughter)!2 months agoWhile the hotel is starting to show its age, the staff is OUTSTANDING. We were in an accident en route to VA and our car was totaled. After 8+ hours in the emergency rooms, we need a place to rest and recuperate before finding a way back home. The staff was helpful and accommodating noticing our bang up conditions. KUDOS to SHAZIA and ALICIA at the front desk for their kindness and helpfulness changing out the rooms to meet our needs. DANA in maintenance for coming to our room within minutes to resolving the problem. Thank you all for your hospitality and support. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️????????????????????3 months agoIt was truly a bad experience for this stay. The hotel was booked with credit reward in full. After a couple of days, I received $155 bill. Called my credit card and the hotels back and forth. It turned out that the front desk lady charged for no reason. It is so improper to charge a customer with out informing the reason or without a permission. Please be careful. The hotel seems to be sunset, dead as a doornail. The front desk persons are not professional. The breakfast was covered in the room, but it was surprising like nothing, horrible food. We called the front desk for soap and cup, but the front desk asked me to the front desk to get it. Totally horrified by this stay for a high cost.4 months agoThe SpringHill Suites has nice, clean, decent size and wonderful glass showers! The entrance and common areas are basically elegant and comfortable. With lots of seating. Great fitness room and indoor pool.5 months agoAfter a long day of loading all our belongings and starting a cross country move, this was an excellent place to land for the evening. Great parking options, including a movie theater parking lot just up the road that made maneuvering our 26’ truck with car trailer easy. Great water pressure in the shower, clean and comfortable room and bed. Free water bottles in the room was a big bonus when traveling. The only reason I’m giving 4 stars instead of 5 is because we decided to delay our departure to continue the move for the continental breakfast but while we were told it started at 6:30am, when we got down there we had to wait until almost 7:15am before any hot/substantial food was brought out. The food quality was fine, nothing to write home about but the eggs and waffle were good, oatmeal was pretty watery and the biscuit and gravy left something to be desired.

a month agoThe hotel staff were friendly and as accommodating as they could be. The first room we received was, according to staff, the biggest room, but the bathroom reaked of urine. We were then moved to a smaller room on the lower level in which the bathroom did not smell , but the hotel is extremely dated, so the furniture has a lot of visible wear and tear. Key cards constantly have to be exchanged, as well. We called in at 4p.m. to make sure the grill was ready for use, and we were told it was ready for use. From 7p.m. to 9.p.m. the same day, we had issues using the grill. The woman at the front desk tried to help us, but I don’t believe it was a smart idea for her to be around an open propane tank with a lit cigarette. The maintenance worker in charge of the propane tanks clearly did not want to come and fix the issue as he kept giving directive over the phone with front desk staff that was of no help. We ended up having to take our meats back to the room to cook. Eventually, they came an hour later to fix the issue, but we were not informed of whether to use it or not. Anyhow, although hotel staff was extremely nice and accommodating, I would not recommend let alone bring any family or friends to this hotel again. I honestly can’t wait to go home. The beds were extremely hard, and the pull put couch had a nasty stain. Not enough silverware and coffee pot has very clear signs of use. Toaster in the room did not work, and Oat milk for coffee was unavailable until the 2nd day of stay . Then, no brown sugar is available.4 weeks agoNice Hotel. My major concerns have to do with the problems I’m having charging my two phones and my fit bit watch! The outlets in the living room are the only place near a table that I can hook up. They need to buy the new table lamps that you can use to charge your stuff from. Small problem with easy fix.a month agoMade a reservation online with my Marriott Rewards certificate – received online confirmation via email and called hotel to confirm as well. When we arrived to check-in, the receptionist stated that the system is overbooking people and there were no rooms available for us. She said that she was sending us to another Marriott Hotel 5 minutes away and called the other property to confirm we had a room. When we arrived at what was supposed to be the other Marriott, the manager informed us that this was an independent hotel that hadn’t been associated with Marriott at all for months. As such, points weren’t honored. Can’t give a review of the TownePlace Hotel since they turned us away immediately but very frustrated that we arrived at 1 am from travel and we’re told we had a reservation but there were no rooms. Would not recommend. The receptionist was very nice though.2 weeks agoI loved this hotel I was in the 2 bedroom for one night which had 360 views of the mountains and very clean, the breakfast was just ok no meat at all , eggs were good.the front desk lady her name Taty-Ana was a sweetheart and very knowledgeable about her job..she was very caring and hard working????I hope she gets recognized from the Marriott chain for being A plus customer service supervisor. I’m thinking of returning to this hotel and free water and tea…thank you for a great time.2 years agoLove the rooms plenty of parking, friendly staff. Hope things will be even better when this COVID is behind us. Bathroom is really nice and so are the linens.

The hotel is in great proximity to Montage Mountain, which is why we stayed here. Service was below grade, it seemed as though it was everyone’s first day, although the staff was nice, they weren’t knowledgeable or responsive. Rooms are clean. The pool and hot tub are way over chlorinated. It ruined our bathing suits and 2 feet of my hair broke off. The hotel will only comp the room and will not pay for the damages to bathing suits or my hair (my hair used to hit below my waist and now it’s just below my shoulders). I’m now paying for hair treatments ($600 in so far and counting) and the hotel will not pay a dime even with receipts. If you stay here, stay out of the pool! I would recommend staying anywhere else but here. First day type of staff, and when something goes wrong, they absolutely will not help you.
Well maintained but definitely showing its age – furnishings are a little rundown and there isn’t a single USB port in the room. The location in downtown Scranton is ideal for access to good food but the parking situation ($15/night to park up the block in a garage) is annoying. Water pressure in the shower is terrible – barely a trickle, honestly. All of that said, the staff is friendly and welcoming and beds are comfortable.
The Hilton Scranton & Conference Center used to be our home for a twice per year gaming convention. While the convention has moved out of the city of Scranton, the Hilton remains a favorite. The facilities are very well maintained and the rooms are comfortable (it’s where Presidents and other dignitaries stay). However, it is the people on staff which make it special. Over the years, they have consistently been friendly, prompt and accommodating. They are knowledgeable of the area and they understand both hotel science and customer service.
While there are not a lot of different dining options in the hotel compared to a vacation area resort like at Disney, the ones that are there are good. I especially enjoy the breakfast buffet (I hope it is still there). The chefs are good and willing to make special requests. The fruit is always fresh. As for the bar, PJ’s, their burgers are very tasty. And, there is a Starbucks in the lobby which is a plus when you need a quick breakfast and do not have time for the buffet.
I miss staying at the Hilton Scranton for our conferences but there is no doubt that I will stay again – whenever I visit Scranton.
DISGUSTING!! Don’t let the pictures fool you!!! This was easily the WORST stay ay a hotel that I’ve ever experienced! (7/23/2023) What was supposed to be a relaxing and exciting vacation with my family turned into a complete nightmare! This hotel was absolutely disgusting and put the health of everyone in my family at risk. I could tell right away that something was not right with the air conditioning. It was very hot and muggy navigating the hallways and I was starting to become uneasy because there was a musty smell. I figured we would be able to remedy the situation by cranking the A/C once we got into the room. We adjusted the temperature down to 60 degrees and made our way to a nearby restaurant and expected the room to be cooled off upon our return. When we came back, we were disappointed to find that our room had not cooled down much at all. We decided that since we were only there for the night, maybe we could cool off in the pool. There’s not really much to note about the pool. I decided to take my 2 year old back up to the room to start giving her a bath and my 9 year old and husband would shortly follow. I was excited to try out the jacuzzi tub. Here’s where it starts to get bad. The drain toggle was broken and hanging on for dear life and trying to keep my daughters fingers from being caught was a challenge. (She’s a curious 2 year old so you can understand how safety is my main concern). To remedy the damage, a small drain stopper was in the tub that barely fit the drain and I had to keep refilling the tub. The handles for the water spun 360 degrees and trying to keep a steady temperature on the running water was impossible. I made do with what I had to get my child clean. I was so thankful when my husband and other child came back to the room. After the bath, I let me youngest wonder the room to play with her toys and quickly noticed that the bottom of her feet were filthy and black with who knows what. I then decided to take a white clean washcloth, got it wet and scrubbed a spot on the carpet. The washcloth immediately went from white to yellow. I then became very curious and started my investigation of the cleanliness of the room. The entire room was riddled with filth and grime. In the corner of the bedroom there was what looked to be dried up pink vomit matted into the brown stained carpet. The lamps on the tables had dust build up. The sofa bed in the living room had stains that looked like the ingredients needed to make children. One of the pillow cases that something brown smugged on it. My husband pointed out that the stand up shower was falling apart. The metal frame that holds the glass walls of the shower was falling off the tracks. We noticed behind the peeling wallpaper in the bathroom was black mold! We began peeling back more and more wallpaper on every wall of the room and continually found more and more mold. I was appalled and shocked beyond belief and felt so guilty that I had subjected my family to this type of toxicity. We will NEVER be stupid enough to stay in another Hilton hotel or any hotel affiliated by Hilton ever again.
The staff was very friendly and well-intentioned however, they seemed poorly trained and spread thin. It took over an hour to get our lunch even though there were only three full tables. The facilities were nothing short of disgusting. The conference level bathroom toilets had grime that could only build up from weeks/months of not cleaning. The carpet in my room was literally sticky. The shower had black mildew. The toilet could only be flushed once per half hour (embarrassing when sharing a room!). They switched my friend’s room four times because the AC was not working in so many of them. They finally just gave her a box fan! The tables in the lobby bar were so sticky we would use our napkins as personal table cloths. The hotel is well-situated close to lots of walking options to food but I was so grossed out that I cannot recommend this place to anyone. Hilton needs to put some serious attention into this facility. Disappointed in my $1284 expense.
