What People Are Saying: 5 Customer Reviews

  1. 45 years of life and having stayed on hotels in Africa, Asia, Europe, North and South America – this is the worst. On all fronts except location it is a terrible hotel. The location is good. That’s the only positive I can give you.

The staff. Absolutely awful. Front desk is understaffed and rude. The bell staff are almost as bad. Even simple requests are met with disdain. Front desk do not care about the guests. Bell staff could not even work with a simple request and insisted to wait for the bell captain who was nowhere to be found.

Room was ok, housekeeping kept it reasonably clean. No bathtub, shower only. Standard was way below what you would expect for the price. TV would randomly freeze and have to be turned on and off.

Had food from Exchange which was overpriced and very poor quality. After that dined out at every opportunity.

But one final word on the front desk staff. Pitifully bad. In an overall bad experience they were the worst. No interest in the guests at all. Glacial wait to check in. Disinterested in guests checking out. 0/5.

    Avoid this hotel.

  2. Stayed there for several days attending the next door convention center. Easy access to the light rail and easy walking distance to multiple restaurants and bars. The south tower is closer to the M lounge (concierge). Room was small but afforded all that I needed, a comfortable bed, decent water pressure, a small fridge. The balcony was nice for a morning coffee and read.

  3. This hotel is located in a convenient part of San Diego walking distance from downtown. The hotel is clean and has great amenities. The room is very comfortable. On arrival, we noticed our toilet was making noises, and the first time we used it, it was backing up. We called for a repair and they repaired it while we were gone without incident. Later that night, we got great last-minute service on a bottle of wine on Saturday night from the only tender there willing to even look in our direction since the bar was closing. I don’t remember his name, but he was attractive and white or Italian looking. He was tall with light brown hair and he had a nice smile.. maybe even dimples. Later that night, we ordered room service, and they forgot my husband’s soda. We called back to order it again and they brought diet. Not the end of the world but annoying. Overall, we had a nice stay and would return to this hotel if we were in the area.

  4. Lived in San Diego for Decades and never been to a Hotel here before. The Restaurant had the best Shrimp Wrap. My man had a Hamburger and it was huge. I’d been here at the Restaurant in September for my Birthday lunch from my third daughter and the Steak was so good. Their potatoes chips were so good. I had the potatoes chips both times. I’ve never had this type before in any other place. Their Lobster wraps for Room Service were the best. Everything was so perfect and extremely clean and very nice Service. I’m going back the end of January or the beginning of February. I’m so impressed and it’s only a few minutes away from my 15th. Floor Highrise. This will be my regular place to visit. The only problem was the Card Key didn’t work much, we just got another one. A lady told us that happened to her too. The elevator needs a Card Key to go up. I recommend visiting here. The bed and pillows were the best I slept ever. Air conditioning was perfect. Had enjoyed my time there.

  5. I love going to the Marquis, though I’m typically there for a conference and not to stay, the halls are well kept and quite spacious. I would imagine that the rooms are the same. Though it is difficult to believe there could be a much better view of the bay, I’m sure the view from the rooms is much better up there in one of the towers.
