I really enjoyed the chicken wing appetizer and the calamari. The crab fried rice I could probably eat everyday. I’ll definitely order the crispy duck curry again. One of the dishes my wife likes to eat is the crying tiger, and that’s what it was.. crying for attention, needs much more garnishment and make it better than just the strips of meet and seeping sauce. Wings were too, too sweet!!! The Avocado rolls were good but the seeping sauce was too too sweet!! Don’t let the rough parking lot fool you. Decent enough portions with a budget that won’t drain your bank account. The only down side was that the place was unable to accept Debit at the time but allowed Venmo, PayPal and cash. There was mention of a cash discount. I ordered pad see ew and my fiancé had Pad Thai. As other reviews stayed, the outside is extremely understated but the inside is really beautiful . the service is friendly n on point, definitely family friendly….and while pricey, Every dish is well presented and packed with delicious flavor… Even my basic meat n potatoes guy n kiddo were super impressed with flavor and giving their 5 star stamp of approval. Really enjoyed the chicken satay, the peanut sauce, pad Thai, dumplings, curry, and crying tiger. Ended night with share of fried coconut ice cream….My only miss was the fried rice, honestly with everything better off with just ordering white rice to taste these flavors. Ehhhh. Struggling to understand why it is rated so high, but maybe I just ordered all the wrong things? This is one of the few times that the food actually looked better then it tasted. The rice was exciting because you don’t expect all the protein in a side order of rice. The red bits of beef though were large and unappetizing. The shrimp was good. Beef and broccoli was decent. The soup was not good at all, and I could smell the seasame oil through the entire bag. The cream cheese wonton was good, regular, not sweet…. Still good though! Egg roll was a little soggy on the inside, mush. Paper chicken was probably one of the worst things I heave eaten in awhile. Looks like an 8/10, but the taste is at a 5. Probablly wouldn’t try again. I appreciate that they keep up with the care of the fish, I have seen other places neglect them, but these seemed fine. The decor of the restaurant was very outdated. Could be a great place, just isn’t.
The Silver Palace Chinese Restaurant is the best place to get Chinese food in the Whittier/La Mirada area. So far everything I have had there is great but I would recommend the Garlic Chicken and the Sweet and Sour Pork as top picks. The lunch and dinner specials are a good value otherwise it is easy to order a bunch of dishes. The manager is very attentive to the customers.
1st timer. Ordered pick up. Was really good. Wasn’t a huge fan of the orange chicken but it’s was still really good no complaints on taste just wasn’t what I was expecting. Everyone was so kind as well. I will be back for the dine in experience.
Nice to dine in. Food was excellent especially mushu chicken and the spicy beef.
Customer service is key in business, and the Silver Palace has it 100%
Staff are friendly, food is BEYOND AMAZING. Real authentic Chinese food. I will most definitely be coming back. If you have left overs (most likely you will, big portions) the staff can box it up for you as courtesy.
