What People Are Saying: 5 Customer Reviews

  1. Easy check in. Room is spacious and clean. Safe box and fridge not working, reported and maintenance staff came and fixed both.
Reported no TV remote, hair dryer. After half hour later, runner came with the items.
Breakfast spread is huge. Dinning Hall is big. Gym is well equipped. Pool is a good place to relax.
Location is convenient. Good place to stay and dine with lots of amenities around. 👍

  2. This used to be a good hotel to stay. However, our recent stay was marred by the poor maintenance of the room bathroom where the ceiling was seen covered with moulds and toilet floor and wall grouting, along at the sink side has not been retreated. Their coffee house on level 11 still serves good selection of breakfast. We hope the new management team will look into revitalising the guest rooms as this hotel is a great place to stay with its location good within walking distance to many places of interest.

  3. This is my first time staying at this hotel. It’s a budget friendly hotel for families and kids. The hotel common areas are pleasant looking and generally clean. The rooms need updating though. The housekeeping services need some improvement as we spotted our housekeeper using our bath towels to wipe the bathroom floor, walls and wash basin. I only wonder what other hotel linens are used for what other purposes. The cups in the room need to be replaced as they looked aged, stained and the glasses look dull. The room is generally clean and the bed was comfortable for a good night’s rest. I would give a good rating for the hotel breakfast as it was a huge spread. The hotel staff were very friendly, approachable, knowledgeable in the local attractions and the surroundings. This hotel is smack in the middle between the old town and the shopping malls so it’s well strategically placed for anyone and everyone with diverse interests.

  4. Tried the international lunch buffet! The spread is way beyond my expectations at such affordable price. Some food looks good but not really tasty haha. The waitresses are nice and friendly!

The oxtail, lamb chop and cheesecake is definitely the highlight of the buffet. I’m so lucky to get the last piece of cheesecake!
(Waiters/manager should check regularly and top up the food regularly, since it’s a buffet and everyone is entitled to try every food)

Overall, the dining experience is satisfying.

  5. Currently first night at Hatten and wanted to spend the Christmas with my loved one. Booked 2 nights and checking out on 26 Dec.

It was a nightmare with the following issues:
    1. Lifts – total 6 of which 2 broken down and out for maintenance. Average waiting time for a lift is about 8 minutes and above.
    2. Air conditioning – Booked a Premier junior suite but air conditioning was so stuffy. Called the operator and she sent maintenance staff to check. Maintenance checked, changed some settings and mentioned to call back in 30 minutes if problem not resolved. Called back the operator and she explained that water pipe is leaking while they are fixing the issue. Asked to wait till 9 to 10pm. Avg room temp 25.5 degrees C
    3. Went to front desk to request for room change. Was given another room at level 20 and room temp was 27.5 degrees C even worse!!!
    4. Asked some folks at the lift and they mentioned that their room is also stuffy. The person after me at concierge also complaining on same issue.
    5. Front desk promised to deliver a fan and nothing happened so far.
    6. Called back the operator 5 times after 20 min but no one pick up. I think my room number is blacklisted…
    7. Checked some past reviews. Realised that the air conditioning and lift issues have been highlighted since 2019. 3 years no change.

Now deciding if should just pack up and head to another hotel. Worst nightmare ever.

Thanks Hatten for giving me such a memorable Christmas in 2022.

Kids Friendly Hotel with Top Notch Customer Service The hotel shares building with an abandon mall. As the saying “do not judge a book by its cover”, the hotel speaks for itself with their top notch service provided by staff who are motivated in providing the best customer experience. We felt very much welcome. We stayed in the King Suite and it was huge and comfortable. Staying in a hotel can be boring especially for kids, but not here because they have Kids Club that operates from 10am to 7pm. Our children really enjoyed their time, making art & crafts and playing games. The infinity pool is also pleasant for the kids. Food is another plus point here. Buffet breakfast has wide selection of F&B, and everything tasted good. I had one of the best pancakes during breakfast. We also dine at the poolside cafe and the food was also delicious. We are satisfied & happy with DoubleTree Melaka and will consider other DoubleTree hotels for our future trips.

What are your expectations when staying in a 5-star hotel near the city centre? Of course, I had a great time there, especially at the swimming pool, which also has nearby steam and sauna facilities. The staff is friendly and helpful. The rooms are comfortable and spacious, with clean bathrooms. Breakfast buffets are fantastic, with a wide selection of delectable INTERNATIONAL cuisine. Will return in the future if I have any extra cash 😝

The hotel is overall better than expected. The hotel staff were so very helpful and friendly. The room was really spacious and the bed and pillows were so comfortable. The gym was adequately equipped. The food in the restaurant was good though the selection was quite limited for me… So it was so good in the room…

After reading some not so favorable reviews, I was hesitant to book this hotel. However, due to time constraint was my travel plans, I decided to give it a try due to its excellent location. Oh boy.. I was in for a pleasant surprise. I booked a double room, and was given one on the 15th floor. The room was spacious, has a nice view of the surroundings and most importantly, it was clean. Towels, bedsheets, pillows are clean , although the pillows were a little too soft. Even the day and night curtains were clean and looked new. The hotel must have done some refitting now that we are allowed to travel again. Parking was free and convenient too. Staff were friendly from the concierge to the parking attendant. Only slight pointer to note was the slippery shower area when wet, due to the type of tiles used. Just be careful. Will definitely come back again.

We stayed there for 4 nights. We got a room on a higher floor with a city view. From the beginning to the end the staff was extremely helpful. The price was also really good. Room was very clean and spacious. 100% recommend 🙂

The location of the hotel is good. The staff took too long for check in, not efficient. The rooms are badly maintained. Toilet light was not working and the wash basin was leaking. Towels are not clean with stains. It took us 10 mins of waiting time for the lifts during check out. Will not be coming back to this hotel again as for the price we can get better hotel nearby.

We recently stayed at the Imperial Heritage Hotel in Melaka and have mixed feelings about our experience. On the positive side, the hotel is very conveniently located in the heart of Melaka, making it easy to explore the city’s attractions. Additionally, the room we stayed in was very large and spacious, which was a welcome surprise. However, our check-in experience was very slow and took longer than expected. We also have to say that we were disappointed with the maintenance and cleanliness of the room. Despite the impressive exterior of the hotel, the room was in need of some serious upkeep. The cleanliness was not up to par, and there were signs of wear and tear throughout the room. Another downside of our stay was the limited parking, especially on weekends, which made it a challenge to find a spot. Overall, for a self-declared 4-star hotel, the Imperial Heritage Hotel in Melaka fell short of our expectations.
