a month agoWe have never had a bad experience with La Quinta hotels and purposefully seek them out when possible. This time, however, that was not the case. We were traveling and needed a place to stay for the night and we wanted a place with a hot tub and pool. We have stayed at the La Quinta in Mesquite before and was pleased but recent low reviews made us decide to go to Garland La Quinta instead. I called to make sure their pool and hot tub were working. I was told that they were both working. When we checked in, the room was great and worked perfectly for us. After dinner, we went to the pool. The pool was clear and clean, but the hot tub was cold, slightly green and smelled of fish. I was still able to get in the pool but had been looking forward to a hot tub after a long drive.This morning, the breakfast was one of the worst I have ever seen. The eggs were dry, crumbly and bland. The sausages were weird, pale, and looked nasty. The electric yogurt container was empty or just didn’t work. There was no butter for the toast, no coffee and no milk for the cereal. I nicely asked the attendant but she said they were out. Breakfast was from 6-9am, I was in there at 8am but my husband and son went down for breakfast around 7:30 and it was the same. We will not be staying at this location again unless we are desperate.
If all you need is a safe clean room to sleep in for the night, then this is your place. If you want a clean hot tub or a halfway decent breakfast go somewhere else.
4 months agoThe room was very spacious, not crowded or limited, of space at all. The sectional had a bed. My parents came, and they had a conjoined room with my brothers. There is a double lock door that connects rooms together. The hot water is not so good one minute is hot next minute is on cold side of warm. There were a few noticeable stains on the sofa and curtains. They do have breakfast from 6a.m. to 9a.m. my kids enjoy the waffles. They have a pool and fitness area and the lobby has computers. Staff was friendly and helpful. Especially the night Manger he gave us direction to a great place, surprise Google didn’t recommend it. I will say it’s a hidden Gem. We will be back to visit that recommend place he suggested again in the future.2 months agoThere were no hotels within 2 hours of us during our East TX hail storm 6/14/23. We have no electricity and it’s 97 degree. Wyndam customer service searched all around and everything in our area was booked but found us one in Garland that would take us and our dogs. Juan, the manager was expecting us and went out of his way for us…he genuinely cared about getting us a room after all we went through. We found out our county and surrounding areas were declared a disaster zone, so had to stay a couple extra days. Of course Juan was accommodating and helpful yet again! Our rooms were very clean, we felt safe, & internet was great so we could work remote. THANK YOU JUAN and your team for everything!Tip: Great location and the staff is wonderful. Pet friendly was vital for us!
2 months agoAll the rooms are different. The room I stayed in, the A/C system made lots of noise and there was nowhere to plug in a USB, but the room across the hall that the rest of my family stayed in had an alarm clock with the USB port and the A/C system was quiet. Also, the housekeeping is not consistent. Again, the room I was in got fresh towels, but nothing else was done. The room across the hall, everything was done.The breakfast here left a lot to be desired.
2 months agoThe rooms were clean and the beds comfortable. We did have difficulty with the getting the air-conditioning system set where it would stay the same throughout the day and night. If you wanted quiet this is probably not the best place as you have a lot of highway noise as you are right off the interstate and you do have quite a few kids that run up and down the hallways at all times even though there is a supposedly quiet time.

a month agoPurchased a balcony, lake-view room that sleeps 6 people (we had 6 people with us) with points via the Holiday Inn site. Upon arrival, we were given a room that would only sleep 4, had no balcony or lake view. When this was brought up to the manager on staff she said she couldn’t change anything. When asked if we could have a roll away bed since the room given wouldn’t accommodate 6, she said no.It took a lengthy discussion to get her to change us to a room that would sleep all 6 of us. So, after about 20 minutes of lugging our stuff back and forth, we were given a room that could sleep everyone. Of course, this room was not lake view and had no balcony, but my earned reward points were taken to purchase a room with those features!
Very disappointing service. We avoided this location on the way back from our vacation.
a month agoWe had an excellent experience with this hotel. Rooms were clean and beds were really comfy. A/C worked as expected. Helpful staff. I did not partake in the breakfast, but would definitely stay here again.3 months agoTHE MOST UNCOMFORTABLE BED I HAD EVER TRIED TO SLEEP ON. we checked in about 10:30 pm without a reservation, and got a king suite. Bed was super hard. Both my wife and I tossed and turned all night long, didn’t get any restful sleep. We ended up sleeping on the couches in the room because they were more comfortable than the bed. I believe I would have slept better in my vehicle. Room and property was nice, clean, and good location. Would not recommend.3 months agoNot much to complain about this hotel, clean, no bugs and nice rooms overall with comfy beds. Only minor complaints is you can hear the traffic on interstate fairly loudly and rooms are a bit dated. Loved the walk-in shower.4 months agoThis was my 2nd stay at this hotel. During our 7 night stay, the front desk staff was great, but the housekeeping service was not. One day housekeeping didn’t close our door completely after cleaning the room, so the door could be pushed open by anyone. I don’t appreciate our belongings being completely unsecured all day. The front desk staff was apologetic and moved us to a different room. A couple of days later, we chose to forego cleaning and pick up clean towels at the front desk. However, housekeeping didn’t leave enough clean towels that night, so I had to come back the following morning. The last two days of our stay housekeeping never visited our room, even though the placard was not placed on the door. We had to get our own towels and toilet paper those days. This seemed like a decent hotel from the outside, but I was disappointed in the quality of the hospitality. For the price, I expected more.

The location is excellent. It’s near PGBT highway. Thus, it’s convenient for you travel to everywhere. Enable you save lots of time and money on commuting.
This hotel was excellent and perfect for travelers who value cleanliness and affordability. I absolutely love the Hyatt Place brand because they consistently provide high-quality accommodations with comfortable rooms. Additionally, they offer complimentary breakfast to all guests. While the breakfast options may not be extensive, I can still satisfy my hunger. Overall, this place offers a great stay and a chance to relax.
This review is mostly for Rochelle. We had issues with our reservation (our fault), but she totally worked things out for us. She was so sweet, helpful, and caring. This hotel better hold on to her. She definitely made the experience much better.
Upon arrival to the Hyatt I was expecting a above average and clean hotel with great customer service given the 4 star rating.I was extremely disappointed that the 4 star rating is given to this location given the rude staff, and extremely dirty rooms. The only good thing about this hotel is that it’s by the highway, that is it. We had a hour late check in and were told that our room was still not ready, and when we asked if we would be compensated in any type of way we were told no. When asked to speak to a manager the staff gave us a run around and gave us a bogus email address also. When we got to our room there was a sticky wet spot in the floor by the front door. The bath/tub looked as if it wasn’t cleaned in a few months, and the towel rack was all rust. The walls looked like there were grease/grime stains. This stay was possibly the worst hotel experience I’ve ever had, and comparable to a secluded roach motel. How this place is getting 5 star reviews is beyond me. And now after attempting to post this review and being notified that I can’t post the review now makes sense how they kept the 4 star review.
Tired hotel clearly in need of a refresh. The room was OK, but everything in it was best up. Common spaces severely lacking…in particular the fitness center. 3 of 4 cardio machines were “out of order” and the dumbbell rack was missing 50 percent of the weights.
First off, this place DOES NOT have a bar. They do have rooms. You can have meetings or parties and and I guess they consider that also. No, it DOES NOT have a restaurant. What it has is deli type food that you would see at walmart after walmart deli closed already. The room is nice and pretty, but the elevator there’s only one for six floor six hundred room hotel. And only one of the elevators work and that elevator takes forever. And if you take the stairs, you’re not allowed to take the last one cause if you do, you will be charged $250 if it’s not an emergency, so you have to wait for the elevator.
