2 weeks agoWhat a wonderful place to relax after daily excursions around the area. From the fresh eggs to the awesome hot tub, the farmhouse takes you away from all the hustle and bustle. It’s so roomy and comfy. The extra special touches are so adorable. It is nicely stocked with everything we needed to enjoy our stay. The animals are so friendly and neat to watch in their element. We thoroughly enjoyed our long weekend at the Farmhouse! ❤️a month agoWonderful home that is nicely decorated and equipped with everything we needed. We loved the extra space to store all of our beach gear. Nice and quiet away from the bustle but only minutes from the beach or town of Cape Charles. We enjoyed the fire pit one evening and the front porch on rainy days. Looking forward to a visit again.3 months agoThe Orchard House was absolutely perfect for our long weekend stay celebrating our son’s wedding. The spacious home accommodated all of our guests!! Close enough for our visit to Liberty University and just far enough away where we could experience the peace and quit our family was looking for! This place is an absolute gem! Beautiful Mountain View’s all around, a stocked pond for the kids to catch fish, fire pit , and a top deck to watch all the stars at night! This home truly has it all . 6 months agoMy husband and I had a great experience at Lydia’s Bed & Breakfast. I can’t say enough about Bonnie’s warmth and kindness. The rooms were beautiful and breakfast was just delicious. We would go back anytime, Ingrida year agoMy significant other and I spent the past Saturday and Sunday nights at House of Lydia B&B. The beautiful building was impressive, with Venetian plaster ceilings and arched doorways. (And the neighborhood has other gems to see if you take a walk around.) We stayed in the 1 Corinthians room, with my significant other loving the air jet bath. And while I’m not very tall, I could readily see someone who typically struggles with standard-height shower heads appreciating (if not loving) the rain shower.Owner and host Bonnie was fantastic. She went out of her way to accommodate our breakfast and lodging needs and wants. (Please be sure to tell her not just of any food allergies but also of any strong food preferences so that you can thoroughly enjoy breakfast.) She makes it a point to use organic ingredients, and there’s plenty to eat. (I had so much to eat during the first breakfast that I skipped my lunch and almost could have skipped dinner.) It’s obvious that Bonnie cares a lot about her guests.
There’s so much more that I could write, but I hope that this gives you a good idea. Get your reservation in; you won’t be disappointed.
a year agoThe House of Lydia was a pleasure to stay at! Bonnie, the proprietor, is very kind and welcoming. The exterior of the house could use some work (similar to many houses in the area), yet the interior is very quaint, elaborate, and thoughtfully decorated. Breakfast in the morning was the highlight, prepared by Bonnie with love and wonderfully presented! We were touched by her witness of faith, and we would love to visit again someday.a year agoWhat an amazing lady and B&B. You may arrive as a stranger but you will most definitely will leave as a friend. Miss Bonnie is the kindest person I have ever met. When your hostess prays for your safety you know you have stayed in the right place. Her home is beautiful. You will sleep so peaceful. If you’re looking for a place to stay look no further.4 years agoWe really enjoyed our stay with Bonnie at the House Of Lydia B&B. She was a wonderful host and her hospitality was outstanding. We felt welcome from start to finish and her breakfast was a real treat as well as delicious. Her table setting on her outdoor porch on a beautiful Sunday morning was just perfect. We also enjoyed the home decor and her childhood story only she could provide as a unique life experience. No wonder she constantly gets five star ratings. She had recommendations for walks, great food and theaters within a short distance. We would stay with Bonnie again and recommend this location to others.

We stay here every time we visit Lynchburg and it is such a special place. Out first trip here we had the pleasure of meeting Robert. He was so kind and we later found out he helped build the inn. Everyone is so welcoming. It isn’t just about the cozy, comfortable, and clean rooms! It really is a home away from home. I feel very comfortable here and I’m able to relax. I love chatting with Wanda and everyone else…I won’t even say “staff” as it seems like everyone there is family to one another. We learn something new and interesting about the b&b every time we visit.
Ms Karen at Acorn Hill today was AMAZING! She is such a sweet, caring and gentle woman! My 60min full body massage with hot stones felt so good and had me so relaxed for that hour that I didnt want to get up! I will definitely be going back soon! It was my first time but will not be my last! Her area where she works is so comfortable and pretty.

This was our first bed and breakfast. We stayed this past weekend. Ms Wanda and staff is unbelievable. The rooms are very spacious and clean. The breakfast is cooked the way you want it. Pets are welcomed and our dog Spice loved it. You will feel at home away from home. If you are near Lynchburg we highly recommend Acorn Hill Lodge.
Acorn hill is a locally owned and operated bed and breakfast. The people were extremely nice and accommodating. The rooms were well kept and clean, and quiet at night. The breakfast was very good. My dog liked walking around and saying hello to the ducks/geese/cats walking around the property. You might get more “modern” accommodations at other hotel chains, but in my opinion, Acorn Hill is infinitely more charming than other options.
We chose Acorn Hill Lodge for our rehearsal brunch the day before our wedding in May! The place is gorgeous, all of the staff is so wonderful and lovely, and the food was delicious.
We also booked a couples massage and my wedding mani/pedi through Acorn Hill’s spa and both were amazing! We felt so so relaxed and amazing after the massage and I would HIGHLY recommend anyone visiting to book a massage! Aimee did a great job with my nails and was super sweet as well.
Both my husband and I’s parents lodged here during the wedding event days and they both were very happy with the service and rooms as well.
Overall I had a great experience with Acorn Hill and would recommend to anyone in the area!!
