Waites Wharf Cottage is an exceptional Newport home located right off Historic Thames Street near many attractions! The charm of the home, cleanliness and comfort made our stay so memorable! All amenities were provided and the location is the absolute BEST! We were able to walk to all shops, restaurants and bars- especially O’Brien’s Pub across the street! We loved walking down the block to enjoy our morning coffee looking at beautiful yachts on the marina! The stunning mansions, cliff walk and ocean beaches are in close proximity- we couldn’t ask for more and can’t wait to go back! Lisa is a FABULOUS host-Thank you for the great memories!
Rented Waites Wharf Cottage for wedding on Goat Island. The house was perfect for our family. Each of the 4 bedrooms had own sizable bathrooms. Living room / dining room was large with comfortable furniture. Kitchen was clean and provided all we needed.
Two cars fit in the driveway and parking passes were made available by owner just a short walk down to the wharf. That is huge in Newport where parking is not easy…
The location is excellent – walk to everything: the tourist areas North on Thames Street (north), and some great restaurants and quieter areas South on Thames. Countless restaurants within walking distance. Really did not need the car for exploring Newport.
Highly recommend. It is a spacious and convenient place to stay when in Newport. Owners left clear instructions about the house and information on Newport. Made it easy.
We love this place! We’ve stayed here the last few years over President’s Day Weekend. We’ve been a group of 3-4 families with 7-8 kids ages 10-14.
The house was big enough for each family to have their own room (each with its own bathroom and some had their one TVs) but also enough common space. The decor and accommodations (nice big TV for watching games or shows and a good collection of games – FARKLE and Card Against Humanity) are really nice for a vacation house where you’re likely to be spending most of your time outside. Kitchen was fully stocked with glasses and stuff, big fridge, working stove etc. We made big breakfasts each day.
The location is amazing! Bars, restaurants, and shops are all walking distance. We also walked to the mansions along Bellevue, Cliff Walk, and other cultural attractions.
Can’t wait to come back!
I cannot give this place enough stars. The location is FANTASTIC … walking distance from everything. The beds are the most comfortable beds I have ever slept in in my life and the owners are amazing. You could not ask for a better spot in Newport. Highly recommend!!
Location, location, location! We had a great time in Newport and the location could not be beat. Easily walkable to the shops and restaurants. We didn’t take our car out for the entire time. If you are looking for a centrally located place to stay, look no further! The bedrooms and baths were great. Lots of space for our group to unwind in and relax.
