As a novice to the fish keeping world, the staff were courteous and knowledgeable. They answered each of my questions happily and were excited to explain concepts in the hobby without being overbearing or preachy/condescending. I will say this place mainly focuses on fresh water fish and plants. They also have lots of birds and some pocket pets. We brought fish from here and a few other animals and they all died within a couple days. The animals are not properly cared for by the staff apparently and they do not offer a warranty. I asked was it necessary to bring the dead fish in to exchange it. (Who wants to walk around with a dead fish) I told him I have a video he said it wouldn’t be necessary & said if i came in before 5 he would take care of it because he knows the situation but he would notify the other manager if i came in later. I came in this evening at 7pm. To do the exchange. After the transaction was complete and the cashier (a white lady with glasses) said that next time i need to bring the dead fish in. I told her that i spoke with the store manager and that i would not be walking around with a dead fish. I told her i have a video if she’d like to see it. It’s quite aggravating to think someone would be dishonest to get a 7.99 fish!!By Golddslugz (in the last week)Great service by the manager, Leo. Made an appointment for Spay surgery for my kitten, Olivia. I arrived very early morning by Lyft and it was cold outside. As soon as the employees arrived before 8am, they made sure Olivia and I came inside from the cold. The employee who brought us inside also admitted Olivia and mentioned at the end of the day when Olivia was discharged that she held her and checked on her frequently. The other employees were just as awesome and reassuring. I am most grateful for our experience and the low cost of the spay surgery which was truly a blessing.
The new building is awesome and definitely a blessing for all the furry babies!!

I adopted a beautiful 3 year old kitty a little bit before Christmas, and I couldn’t have chosen a better cat. She’s an absolute angel, and she never leaves my side when I’m home. She still acts like a kitten, she’s so sweet and playful! She’s the perfect cat for me, I love her so much. I went in looking to adopt a kitten, but I’m so glad I chose an older cat. Don’t miss out on an amazing kitty just because they’re a little bit older!! I also love how well this shelter treats their animals. They’re in big spacious rooms instead of crammed into tiny cages. The staff is also so nice and helpful throughout the whole adoption process. Thank you Humane Society of Charlotte for giving me my new best friend!
We adopted “Pewter” the kitty who just turned 1 on 3/15 a week ago. She’s the most beautiful kitty I’ve ever met. She’s a little fiesty but we fell in love with her and she’s fallen in love with us! We renamed her to Luna since her fur is so light gray and eyes glowing, she looks like the moon.
She’s adapted so well to us and her new home. The adoption process was easy and we got to bring her home the same day.
Thank you to all the employees who helped us at the Humane Society of Charlotte. Definitely recommend!
I adopted Lady Bird a month ago, who we’ve renamed Harper and they estimated her to be about 3 years old. The adoption facility is extremely is clean and the cats are out where you’re able to interact with them for awhile prior to taking them home. The staff is helpful in making sure the cat you choose is a good fit for your family even though the cats themselves aren’t there very long so you can tell how much attention they pay to the animals! As far as Harper, she’s purrfect! I couldn’t have asked for a better cat. She’s wonderful with my toddler and our 2 year old Goldendoodle. Thank you!
We adopted a wonderful Australian Cattle Dog mix here!
The building was clean and open with huge windows for the cats to look out and a decent amount of space for each dog.
The whole process was great. We selected which dogs we’d like to meet, and they brought them to a nice private area one at a time.
The handler was very knowledgeable and let us know about each dog and its personality.
The one we selected wasn’t neutered yet, but we were able to fill out all the papers and pay in less than 30 minutes.
They let us know when we could pick him up after his surgery, and they even managed to get him to us a day early!
I was very impressed, definitely a great place!
