5 months agoThe store itself I’m giving 2 stars because honestly I wasn’t very impressed with it at all. But I was VERY impressed with a lady named Brittany who was working around 8:00pm on 04/05 at the self check out. I had a ton of groceries and 2 gallons of water, but there were no carts available for customers except the ones outside, which I didn’t realize as I was walking in so I was using a basket. Brittany noticed as I was walking up to the self checkout that I my basket was extremely heavy. She asked if I would like a cart. I told her yes please. She went looking for one and brought it back for me. I also had a couple coupons that I had to use, and she was extremely friendly and kind when she scanned my coupons. I appreciate Brittany’s kindness especially when it’s that late in the day, you normally don’t get someone as nice. Thank you Brittany! ????????♥️4 months agoI am handicapped.I have to use one of your Kroger motorized carts.
I had some financial matters that the Service Desk could attend to….. However, there was nobody to service the Service Desk.
After waiting over 10 minutes, I called the store and waited at least three to five minutes before someone answered the phone. I could hear the overhead pages. I finally got an answer.
ME: “Is there anyone at the service desk?”
Kroger Employee: “Yes.”
ME: “I’ve been waiting over 10 minutes. I haven’t seen anyone
Kroger Employee: “I’m over here in Self-Checkout.”
HANG UP ON ME…..
A woman came over and immediately started reprimanding me that she couldn’t see me.
If she couldn’t see me…. How did I expect her to help me was her immediate response.
Most importantly…. NO APOLOGY FOR NOT SEEING ME.
I don’t expect to be treated as a person allegedly “hiding” at a fully visible station.
It is NOT MY FAULT you couldn’t SEE A HANDICAPPED PERSON WAITING AT YOUR HIGHLY VISIBLE SERVICE DESK.
I can appreciate that Kroger is short staffed.
However, if you look up above the Service Desk there are a multitude of cameras.
The first thing in CUSTOMER SERVICE is to apologize for an inconvenienced customer.
You demean them in front of other customers.
If I could give LESS THAN ONE STAR…. I would.
a month agoVery beautiful store…but VERY poor customer service! Her name is Nicolette…she said she was the customer service manager however I had a hard time believing her because she was so rude…so loud…and what seemed to me… racist. I entered the store at exactly 9:51pm…right behind a causian couple….and a Indian couple… the so called manager Nicolette said literally nothing to them…but the moment I walk by instead of saying hello…welcome to Kroger, she starts screaming “we close in 5 minutes, you do you know that right ? The lights are going to go off on you if you don’t hurry up”..I have never been so embarrassed in my life…her demeanor was HORRIBLE and AGGRESSIVE. It was so scary and threatening, I thought Nicolette was going to hit me… I rushed and grabbed the gallon of ice cream for my relative…along the way several employees and customers stopped me to apologize for the terrible customer service I received from the manager including the white couple that entered right before me. They told me the manager was so loud they heard what she said to me and found it strange she had said nothing to them and they came in two seconds before I did. One Kroger employee whispered to me,” the manager Nicolette always becomes rude and abusive late at night.” After I grabbed the ice cream and left the store, I realized I had forgotten something so I stopped at the Walmart on Novi Rd and Grand River…the moment I walked into the Walmart I was greeted by a manager. She smiled and in a pleasant voice said,”Hello, welcome to Walmart…just so you know we’ll be closing in 30 minutes”. There was no yelling or screaming or embarrassment nor did I have to file a police report with the Novi Police.9 months agoThere was a time when the Kroger in Novi offered a better-than-average shopping experience. However, those days are long past. As a single example (and there are many more), consider the experience I had today when buying wine.I am careful to purchase wine in quantities that will enable me to benefit from the store’s 10% discount. As promised in the store’s sign there is a discount of “10% Off Any 4 Bottles of Wine.” A photo of that sign is attached to this review.
While checking out today, with the required “4 Bottles of Wine” I was surprised to find that there was no 10% discount. The cashier had no idea why, and she told me that I had to speak to the Customer Service staff.
Moments later, a store management staff person came to my check-out and angrily told me that there was no additional discount because one of my wines had a retail price that ends in “$0.97”. I pointed out that the signs say “Any 4 Bottles”. Then the angry employee became combative and essentially ordered me to see where the policy is posted.
As you can see in the attached photo, Kroger has decided to engage in a “gotcha” form of marketing. The “gotcha” comes when the customer is humiliated because they did not read the fine print on the sign. All I can say is: Shame on Kroger for engaging in this type of practice.
However, the angry / combative employee really made the situation unacceptable by claiming that the entire issue is “Kroger’s policy – and not the store’s fault.” Let me say this kindly: As a manager at a store, you represent the company.
So, the end result is that a customer has been subjected to “gotcha” marketing, and has been scolded by an angry / combative employee. Is this really the type of experience that customers seek? I suggest that the answer to that question is “no.”
2 months agoNice clean well-stocked store. Only one register open, all others were do it yourself. I prefer a human since I had a lot of coupons but I helped to bag.

a week agoWorst checkout ever! i usually go to Costco which is great. they have 2 blocks of 6 self-checkouts. only 3 working. they had single line self checkouts open. So i went there. then a store employee told me to wait in a line over by the self checks. Confusing! and most don’t work.2 months agoNice store. Pretty small relative to Pontiac trail but well kept. My low rating is because I strongly believe whoever is pricing goods at this location is on some strong substances because the orgain brand smoothie powder I’ve been buying for two years is nearly double (~$40) what I’ve been paying elsewhere. Also price gouging a pack of floss? Really? Those 250 pack of plastic floss are usually 4 dollars and here they are 8. The toothbrushes are insanely priced as well. Oh and I laughed when I saw a pack of about 10 Bobby pins for $5. So I went to Target after and paid $22 for my smoothie powder and got more Bobby pins for less. And I bought your cheapest floss for just over a buck because at the end of the day it’s all the same. You won’t be robbing me blind, I’ll just keep track of the places (like Target) that still offer reasonable prices.a month agoHave been going to this Kroger for years. Unfortunately it has gone downhill big time since COVID times. It was never one of their premier stores, which feature fresh Sushi, an expanded prepared food/international food/craft beer/bakery sections, but had mostly competent and friendly employees. Nowadays, it seems that people that work here just don’t care, are poorly trained/lack competence, and are unfriendly in a lot of instances. This is especially true for the people at the customer service desk. It shouldn’t take 15-20 minutes to fix getting rung up for the wrong amount, or being told to come back a different day because they don’t have anyone available on hand to fix a simple cashier screw-up.2 months agoDO NOT USE THIS BAKERY. horrible experience every single time, I’ve ordered three cookie cakes now but this is the final straw because I am COVERED in blue frosting that was on the outside of the packaging. My hands, my car, my clothes. I called to express my frustration to bakery, customer service, and the store manager. No one showed any empathy or apology. No one offered to refund the cookie or pay for dry cleaning now that my work pants are stained Smurf blue.So upset. Just go somewhere else.
a month agoI don’t understand why Kroger won’t hire cashiers. I’m assuming no one wants to work here due to the pay and treatment especially after the pandemic, so they pass the buck off to the customers. We get to stand in line to be our own cashier and bagger meanwhile the machine screams at you the whole time to ensure your not trying to steal the items your just trying to purchase. Half the self check out machines are shut off all the time and I can’t figure out why besides the fact that Kroger decided they can’t trust their customer. Meijer is bad too bad at least they have their stuff somewhat together. Billion dollar corporations that can’t staff their stores due to their ceos bottom line have GOT TO GO. Dude made 18 million dollars in one year and they force customers to work form them for free. What’s the point of you? I thought billionaires were supposed be job creators?? Create good jobs and people will work there. You know they care more about their profits than anything else.

Best place to eat sushi around the city! Variety of options, custom order available, and most importantly ” best quality”. The price is cheap compare to all around the city. My favorite sushi is Mixed Combo #3 just because three different sushi in a box. My second favorite is Spicy Crunh roll. They have a lot of fully cook and raw options. Love to go there and shop.
For a store that prides itself on the “customer first” policy, I’ll never understand how lines like this have become such common practice. What’s the point in having so many registers to begin with if they cannot be occupied?
You consistently have the most disgusting bathrooms imaginable. I have watched these bathrooms regularly not being cleaned including blood in very easily seen places and it not be cleaned for weeks. I have seen many employees come in this bathroom knowing it’s disgusting and no one wants accountability. This is usually where I shop but not anymore. Your own employee today as this is posted was in there and knew how gross it was. Makes me wonder if anyone in this store has clean hands after the awful conditions I’ve seen over the course of a year.
Walked in to the Bakery to order a cake for my child’s birthday early in the morning. Asked the older woman behind the counter if I’m able to order a cake, she answered with a cold short “NO” so I ask why is it too early? She says that’s a stupid question and says they don’t take orders anymore because nobody wants to work… well I can certainly see why nobody wants to work with her.
I’ve never seen a worse run grocery store. You will ALWAYS be waiting in line for at least 10 minutes to check out, usually 15. Go to Meijer’s instead
