What People Are Saying: 5 Customer Reviews

  1. A beautiful hidden gem in Dearborn! We had an event here and everything ran so smoothly. The staff was attentive and ao sweet. Bathrooms were so clean. Even the valet/concierge was a total gentleman full of life and always wore a smile. Yes, it is a pricey hotel but what you are getting for that price is above and beyond.

  2. This is the first negative review I have ever left for any Marriott property as a lifetime Gold status member. The check in was awkward in that the person at the front desk did her best to talk us out of checking in. We were told they might be sold out (without checking the system). I asked if she was sure, since the app showed vacancies shortly prior to arriving. She also mentioned the price of the second night as being over $430 (I assume to discourage me from checking). Once we booked via the app at the front desk, she dismissively gave us our key, “you’re all set then.” No gracious (and very standard) “thank you for being a loyal member; please contact us with any questions, etc.” Zero stars for front desk, more on that later.

Maid service is 5 star, so is the restaurant/bar staff. Both beyond friendly.

The rooms are 3 star. The hotel lobby is very nice, and it seems any remodel budget was spent on the shared spaces. The rooms are basically Courtyard rooms with laminate floors that replaced the carpeting. The furniture is dated. The bathrooms are nothing special or updated.

I was hoping check in was just a bad day, but we had to deal with the same person on our last day of a 2 night stay. We were politely asked (don’t recall the gentleman’s name) the previous night to call after 8am for late check out on the morning of. Called at 8 AM.

The same person from check in (Kimberly) was asked for late check out, she was having none of it. Politely reminded of status and asked for an hour, she said “not at this time.” Did not argue. We accepted defeat and checked out at 11 AM as required. Tough to defend the one employee who greets and sends off a guest being so sour on inquiries from loyal guests. There’s other great Detroit options. Don’t let this speak for all Marriott properties, though.

  3. I cannot say enough wonderful things about the Henry! We stay there every time we travel to Michigan and the staff is so amazing!! Valencia should be recognized by Marriott for her skills in customer service!! The only hiccup was a slightly rude restaurant concierge but that was quickly forgotten in the luxurious room!

  4. For the price there should be better service. The person who works at lost & found is extremely rude. Should not be getting upset at me for trying to find my belongings. Housekeeping threw my things away. The manager lied to me over the phone when i needed help. Friday night they gave my sister in law a hard time to get into HER room.
I do appreciate the woman at the front desk who was helpful to us Saturday morning with our bags and letting us up to help the bride and groom.

  5. I am staying at this hotel now, due to check out in the morning. Overall, everything has just been OK. The room is fine — nothing special — with a bed that feels cheap and uncomfortable. I’ve had better beds in a Holiday Inn Express.
The staff are a mixed bag: some friendly and helpful, others rude. Housekeeping was a low effort job. The downstairs bar/restaurant, again, gets the job done but is nothing to write home about. Never tried the food, but the drinks and wine selection leave something to be desired.
This is a former Ritz-Carlton, and there are vestiges of that stately past evident. The Club lounge on the 10th floor, which I had access to, an example. Sadly, The Henry is far from Ritz quality today.
All in all, an OK place to sleep for a couple nights if you have a reason to be in the area, but not worth the relatively steep rates. Marriott needs to improve consistency in the Autograph portfolio… second Autograph stay in a month that has been a letdown.

This is my favorite Extended Stay location. It is in a safe area. The staff is professional and friendly. I had an issue with billing and Reagan took care of me. Most of the folks at this location stay long-term so they are friendly when coming and going. My only hang up is that they changed their pet policy. It is no longer capped. If you are not careful, the pet fees add up quickly.

Decent area, decent rates, clean comfortable room. Can walk to The university, the hospitals, and the Henry Ford house is nice, although roads are not friendly to pedestrians as there are barely any sidewalks, so maybe a rental car is recommended. Next to a mall with lots of stuff. But when it closes there aren’t much late night options besides delivery. I guess the only knock was there was no shampoo in the bathrooms, there was soap. Just a solid business stay in Dearborn.

    To hotel management:

I inform you that I made an online reservation before two months through the company website and received a confirmation for the Dearborn location. I reached the hotel on July 23, 2023 at 8:00 PM after a long drive with my family. I met a lady at the reception and told me that the room is overbooked and there is no room available although she saw my reservation on the system!! That is the first time I’ve had such a really really bad experience from a hotel in my whole life.

If the hotel keeps doing this to clients, no one will recommend it at all and you’ll loose your business.

This is NOT A HOTEL! This is a place that rents rooms by the week or more! Very sketchy area an desolate after 5pm. The room smelled and was very old. Bed was clean, although I didn’t sleep in it (yes, I left). The two windows would not close, there was a 3 inch gap on one and about an inch on the other (it was 30 degrees outside). The elevators were broken and I was on the 3rd floor. They did ask if that was ok, but why didn’t they say that when we booked the room, or have it on the website. What am I supposed to say after driving 5 hours thinking I was set for a comfy room that had been booked for the previous week. Would they have found us a new hotel if I said NO?? Really?? They said if you need pots and pans just ask and you can get them. But I thought they would at least they would have a coffee pot with coffee for the morning. NOPE! They have coffee pots, but you supply your own coffee. I asked if it said that on the website he said “it should”. NOPE! I checked and it says “Extended Stay America offers a convenient and comfortable stay for every guest. We have just the right amenities to make you feel at home”. HA! It did not feel like home. So, I went to grab food thinking I would feel better. The area was so different from when I lived her, and I was too scared to venture far, so I grabbed a hamburger at the A&W next door. When I got back, I was so scared because I had to climb 3 flights of stairs by myself in a very cold stairwell. Needless to say my anxiety was through the roof as I broke down crying once in my room. The people above me where loud and you could hear their bed squeaking and their vacuum going. Thankfully my daughter (who paid for the room) and my ex whom she was visiting came to rescue me and they took me to a REAL hotel. I felt instant relief the second I walked out of the so called lobby (which was dark and dingy). I learned later that the area this hotel is in, is a high crime area at night. Cars being broken into, etc. This is NOT a hotel, and should not be listed as one. I just pray my daughter gets all of her money back since I was there less than 2 hours.

One of the most disgusting rooms I have ever stayed in. Both elevators were out of service, so we had to walk to the fourth floor. The room smelled like stale cigarettes. The carpet had multiple stains, and ground in gum spots. The furniture was so beat up, it looked like it came from a tree lawn. The light fixtures were falling off the wall. One had the switch torn out, so it had to be unplugged. The chair in the room was so dirty I couldn’t even sit in it. The curtains were torn and had holes. Avoid this hotel.

Sergei’s Airbnb has become our home away from home. Sergei is an incredibly pleasant, thoughtful, accommodating and kind individual. He communicates at lightning speed. The location enables us to walk into town, just steps away from everything we love about downtown Plymouth. It is wonderful having two parking spaces, a full kitchen, washer/dryer and all the amenities we usually forget but always need. We’ve stayed there several times and I don’t solidify visit dates until I know his space is available. It’s the best spot around and I can’t wait to go back soon! Thank you for everything, Sergei!

We really enjoyed our stay at Sergei’s Airbnb. His description of the property was spot on. The apartment was immaculate and comfortable and we really enjoyed the short stroll to Downtown Plymouth where we explored, shopped and just had a relaxing weekend. Thanks, Sergei, for taking care of us. Highly recommended.
