What People Are Saying: 5 Customer Reviews

  1. If you have any special requests or have any needs for accommodations, I would just double check them after checking in. We had a request for allergy free and feather free rooming and it wasn’t met. The staff is great and extremely helpful though, they were tied up the couple times I went to get help addressing it but it didn’t quite work out. The location can’t be beat for a short stay in Fargo. But the rooms do need some maintenance and upkeep.

  2. Stayed here on Sunday May 14, 2023

You get to select the location of your room on the app before you stay! The front desk guy was very welcoming (he had blonde hair).

The room was very spacious with high ceilings. It had a full sized fridge, two burner stove, over the stove light from microwave, dishes, paper towels, food disposal, dishwasher, table to eat at, couch with ottoman, ceiling fan, walk in shower, granite counter top, lamps with plug ins, quality shampoo and conditioner! The room felt very clean!

The pool was heated and felt warm! Both the hot tub and pool water seemed very very clean! The fitness center had nice equipment, I enjoyed the Peloton bike! It had a business room with computer and printer and other business accessories if needed! The complimentary breakfast had actual plates and silverware to use! There is a nice outdoor sitting area with grill! Checkout isn’t until noon which is very nice!

Buffalo Wild Wings and Applebee’s are just a Walk away!

The only part that disappointed me was that the bed was too firm for my liking, I prefer pillow top.

  3. This is the homiest place of any major hotel chain I’ve stayed in! Besides being clean and comfortable, it was a pleasure to just hang out in the room. Lobby was very relaxing as well.

  4. I was so impressed with everything about this location. Helpful service, amazing suites and a lobby that was comfortable and well thought out. I left my charger at home and was relieved to fibd a well stocked mini store with snacks and necessary items. The service was incredible.

  5. We loved this hotel. We were tired and frustrated with our car rental mix up and had to spend the night in Fargo. Travis was exceptional. He really loves his job and is a definite asset to the hospitality industry. We loved the hotel so much we made sure we stayed at another Homewood Suites the next night on our road trip.

Hotel Donaldson has really gorgeous rooms. With the location being in the heart of downtown, the views are spectacular. The rooms have unique artwork created by local artists. The staff I interacted with was very friendly and professional. There is also complimentary wine and cheese provided each day that serves as a nice dinner appetizer. With Blarney Stone located on the premises the food is great, especially if you like Irish food. They also serve drinks.

A lot of high-end hotels should do what they do. Proper corkscrew in the room, great TVs, comfortable sofa, etc. Cody was very kind at check-in as well. Highly recommend this place over the Jasper is visiting or passing through Fargo.

My girlfriends and I planned a weekend at the Hotel Donaldson. It was everything we imagined and more! The HoDo is a cozy gem in downtown Fargo. We enjoyed the wine and cheese social hour and met others that were also staying there. The desk staff was courteous and went above and beyond to make sure our stay was a 5-star experience. I would recommend this beautiful hotel with unique artwork in every room to everyone I know. We spent a lot of time in our room just hanging out and visiting. We spent time at the fabulous Blarney Stone for food and drinks.

the hotel donaldson is the best hotel in town if you ask me! the mini fridge is stocked and restocked. The rooms are awesome and the staff stops by with desserts. My sister stayed and her husband stayed at the hilton while we were in town. She laughed at my hotel choice but When she came to see what it was all about, She was shocked to find that the donaldson was far nicer than the Hilton. I put my robe on and promptly sent her back to the hilton lol. I cannot wait to come back and stay again

A very pretty downtown hotel in a good location. Bed comfortable and lots of pillows. Room was a decent size. The room was not as clean as it should be, especially the bathroom floor. Speaking of the bathroom…the door to it is the barn door style and it was really hard to open and close and was very loud, which means every time your roommate gets up to use the bathroom at night, you get to wake up too. It also doesn’t close tightly so you the privacy isn’t great. Absolutely idiotic design trend. Nice coffee maker but I had to clean it before I used it. Really would have liked a microwave ????. Front desk was not overly friendly.

We booked our rooms for our wedding downtown and offered a block of rooms to our guests. The staff was so friendly and helpful! Our suite looked out over the Northeast corner of the city. Late one night the fog descended and it was super cool to look over the city and watch the fog. The bed was very comfortable and the room was clean. It was a little awkward to sit on the toilet and look out the floor to ceiling window at the city, but I also took it in as part of the experience. I would absolutely do a staycation there again.

We enjoyed the nice room, fitness center and location. The service wasn’t welcoming. The power in our room was out from a evening storm the night b4. When we asked for help, we were to “know” about a master switch and just turn it on. No assistance. We did misunderstand that we could get free morning coffee which is no. Parking was in the back in the US Bank ramp but wasn’t told it started after 6pm. Later we did see it in a email sent to us. It just would be nice for services to go over everything like parking details and whats included and this would avoid guests disappoints. We even needed supplies in the room and just talked to housekeeping directly and avoided the front desk. Please service besk to be better. They are the face of Jasper Hotel.

Front desk was great but the rooms are so small for 800.00 for 3 nights. There is no dresser so you have to live out of your suitcase. No one told us we have to ask for the room to be cleaned til the last day we were there. I asked for the alcohol to removed when I got there thank goodness I checked before I checked out would of been charged for that. My son went downstairs to ask about a microwave one person was rude and said go check your room !! There is not one in any rooms. We called downstairs and was flat out told no we can not use theirs. The food we ordered the first day we were there for breakfast was awful we had to go eat somewhere else My elderly parents were also staying there and asked multiple times for someone to come fix the coffee maker no one came and finally the front desk told them how to use it correctly why couldn’t that of been told to them when they asked about it. I have stayed in much cheaper hotels that had better amenities and better food. I was there for a wedding and we all stayed together won’t be staying here again. It’s a rip off. Oh and also do not go out at night you will be harassed by homeless people and nothing but drunks not really safe for small children after it gets dark

In the heart of downtown Fargo this hotel not only provides easy access to just about anything you want to do, it also does everything you expect a luxury hotel to do but at a reasonable price. In a city like Chicago or NYC, those rooms would be 2-3x as expensive. My room had a beautiful view. The restaurant and bar on the main level was so good, that I went back more than once. All of the staff were very friendly.
