The store has a good selection and good prices and items are pretty easy to find. Where they fall short is at the checkout area. When you get checked out a lot of times they will have a bagger. There is absolutely no communication between the baggers and the cashiers. Several times items have been missed bag when I do an instacart order. And then the customer is reflect that back on me. Several times I have had to rebag items that were mistakenly bagged with the wrong order. The one person there who knows what they’re doing is a young lady that I went to high school with. Robin has down syndrome and has a memory like a steel trap. I’ve never had her make a mistake bagging anything. She is an asset to the company just like Willie is when he greets people.
They just lost a good customer because they forced everyone to go through the self check out with large carts of groceries, only to be ignored by that attendant who stands around picking at herself and oogling in La la land and can’t be bothered to help you. I will never use the self check out ever! They’ve had so many complaints on her but she hangs on like a parasite and they let her.
Was out of town at the George Marshall Foundation at VMI. My glucose monitor came off my arm, and I called them to see if they could help. By the time I got out of my class, I had a monitor!! Very friendly and so helpful!!
Picked up prescription. They are closed for lunch
Had to come back. Should have different lunch time for employees so they can stay open
First thing you’ll notice about this Kroger’s is the steeply angled parking lot. That can be fun in the rain, and it makes returning your empty carts really easy…just let go. No, don’t do that. Really, don’t.
A deep selection of brands on the shelves. Vegetable selection is good, but not as deep. Freshness pretty good, but less than, say, the off-the-truck offerings at the idyllic Wegman’s (somewhat to the north of VA). Didn’t check the meat section.
Like so many supermarkets these days, Kroger’s overprices and then discounts back to a reasonable price when you have the loyalty card. And, smile, like so many supermarkets, its software will accept another store’s card. The advantages of this sort of marketing must be obvious to the management…but it’s not clear how it works to improve the customer’s lot.
