Had a good experience here. Staff was friendly and fixed my youngest hair again for me when it wasn’t exactly what I wanted and did a great job fixing us up with a style that fit are needs and easy for us to replicate at home. Thank you for getting us school ready .By Laura Middleton (a year ago)This was my first time going to Starr Haircutters and it was a great experience! Shelby was my stylist and she did my hair color, deep conditioning treatment with a cut and style. Fantastic results! Love the way it came out! During the visit, Myra was attending customers but she never forgot I was there! She complimented not just Shelby’s work but how great my hair looked. Friendly staff and overall wonderful experience. It’s been awhile since I’ve been to salon like this.By Amanda Rodriguez (8 months ago)*Former Barber at STARR*
Let me start this by saying the ONLY reason I left this company was due to military relocation! I would have stayed given the opportunity! But, I guess for now I’ll just have to write this review from my home in Hawaii ????
I have never worked with a company that takes care of their barbers/stylist the way STARR does! Both personally and in compensation! As a licensed barber, I started STARR with very little experience in the field and very little knowledge of anything other than men’s haircutting and beards. But I was eager to learn anything and everything I could. STARR helped build my skills with hands on experience and personal training that went over and above your typical salon training. You have to want it! I never felt like I wasn’t compensated well, or that my time in the shop wasn’t well spent. I never was made to feel like work was priority over my personal life either. I could go on and on about the team I worked with during my 3 and 1/2 years working there! Gin, Mayra, and Shelby we’re amazing co-workers, great stylists/mentors, and even still my close personal friends. We made the best out of work, and we had a lot of fun doing it! I couldn’t have been happier with the time I spent with them at STARR and I never felt like I was somewhere I didn’t belong. The clients here are also incredibly fantastic and I grew very close to many of them! I could honestly write a novel about my time at STARR and all the great people I came in contact with while I worked here, but I’ll try to keep it short, sweet, and to the point. ????
If you were ever curious about whether or not STARR is the place for you, believe me when I say it DEFINITELY is. Whether you’re looking for a awesome place to get hair services, you’re a new stylist fresh out of school, or an experienced stylist who is just looking for a new shop to be your best self, STARR is definitely the place you want to be. With all honesty, I hope I make it back to TX one day to work for STARR along side them again!

???? AKA Wallflower BarberBy Alyssa Watson (9 months ago)I was looking for a place to cut my 4 yr old grandson’s hair, he is a handful and needed a place that would be patient with him. I realized this place is not far from my house and read good reviews so I thought why not?. I took him in on a Friday afternoon, after 5 p.m. and had about a 20 minute wait which was fine. When Mayra was ready to take him back, he started crying and did not want to get his hair cut. Mayra was extremely patient with him, offering him a cape for his stuffed animal that he brought with him to match his cape, speaking softly and kindly to him until he calmed down. She took her time, talking with him, engaging with him as he pretended to cut and blow dry his stuffed animal’s hair and so much more. She is truly a great person and the absolute best!! He walked out of there happy and handsome with his new haircut. Thank you Mayra!!By Rene Pogue (8 months ago)Been there a few times and Shelby has done my hair every time! Extremely satisfied with my cut every time and very polite and clean! The atmosphere is fantastic and would definitely recommend!By Richard Ramos (8 months ago)

The lady with black curly hair that wears a mask, wow I would never let someone sit down in her chair. She left me with a bald spot during a simple hair cut, it felt like I was getting a face tattoo when she cleaned up by my ears, she gave me the sorriest hair wash I’ve ever had. She wasn’t no time getting me out of the chair, never once asked how I felt about the hair and never once said a word to me. Ever giving me a message; she rattled every bone in my back and couldn’t seem to find one single muscle. All and all was the worst hair cut experience I’ve never had and I’ve been going to sports clips for years, a complete waste of 40$!!!! And now I have to go pay another barber another $30+ To try and fix my hair. With Christmas less than a week away…. What a disaster. I rate her -2 stars.By Tyler the great Haynes (4 weeks ago)I don’t want a part in my hair that starts on top on my head. Medium fade doesn’t mean I’m bald above my temples. I came home and shaved my head after paying 30 dollars. Thumbs way down.By Jon Henry (3 months ago)Em, was terrific! My haircut was perfect! The scalp massage and all the rest was relaxing and her personality and customer service were excellent!By Russell Krumnow (5 months ago)After a horrible experience getting my toddlers haircut, this place was AMAZING! Em was so patient with him and didn’t at all make us feel rushed or like a burden. I’ll seriously be using her until he’s old enough to take himselfBy Heather Fry (4 months ago)New costumers are supposed to receive MVP on their first cut. I got a quick cut and was hurried out the door.
This is direct from their website:First-time Clients automatically receive a free MVP upgrade on their first visit. The Varsity Haircut is upgraded to an MVP Experience at no additional charge and includes our legendary hot steamed towel, massaging shampoo and a relaxing neck and shoulder treatment.
Just a warning for those who are interested.

Always a 5 star experience. I’ve had different stylists each time and all of them give exceptional cuts and fades. It is very clean inside and you are offered complimentary beer/soda upon walking in. Wait times can get long, so I’ll always recommend checking in online first.By Derek Nicdao (2 months ago)This place is absolutely amazing! Excellent service, complimentary drinks, clean and welcoming, bunch of TVs, and most importantly the staff is all wonderful and engaging. Got my haircut from Snow. Her attention to detail is phenomenal and takes pride in her work. I left knowing I will definitely be back to get my future haircuts from her. All the other ladies there were so friendly and the vibe with all of them was so chill and friendly. Everyone was laughing and joking around….such a great environment to get a haircut in. Highly recommend this place for anyone wanting a good haircut.By Keoni Leota (a month ago)This was my first time getting a haircut here and didn’t know what to expect since I’m used to going to another place, so I was nervous. But Lindsay really made me feel comfortable and made sure my haircut was perfect! I really appreciate everything and thank you for doing such a great job!By Ben McMillian (4 months ago)First time going here for haircuts for my son and husband and the ease of scheduling online for an appointment was a huge plus and was able to get my husband and son in, during the busiest times with back to school etc they are very friendly and will definitely be returning for future haircuts ????By Franhceska Nesbit (4 months ago)Disappointed. Let me start by saying this is our regular spot for haircuts and normally it’s great, but our last visit and today’s visit were awful. We checked in using their online system like we always do. We headed there and were 3rd and 4th in line. When we were next as it showed on their check in acreen, they proceeded to choose someone from the list in 10th or 11th place and seat them, as well as fit in another haircut not on the list. When I mentioned it, they blamed it on the computer. The other time they literally shaved some kind of weird undercut in my son’s shoulder length long hair and gave sideburns when it wasn’t asked for. Looked like a mullet.Didn’t even see the undercut thing til we got home.. getting really hard to find a decent, prompt place for a trim in Temple. No sorry from staff. Acted like oh well too bad. Been going here a while. ShameBy briannesisley (a month ago)
