- Reviews:I took my dog to the salon. She was bathed well. However, Her eyes were very red. That has never happened to her when getting bathed before. I don’t know why. She was very eager to leave. When we take her to get groomed, she never wants to leave. I observed on of the groomers being rough with another dog. The dog wouldn’t sit still & the groomer responded by yanking the dogs tail up. Also, the cashier kept following me around the store. I eventually called him out on all of the extra attention he was giving me. There were other shoppers in the store browsing. I was the only POC. We aren’t going backBy Daphne Aponte (2 months ago)I’ve been taking my pups to Banfield for over 20 years. I switched to this location a few years ago. The staff are very nice. My only complaint is that I like to be in the exam room with my dogs but, ever since covid, they haven’t allowed it. The wellness plan makes everything very affordable.By Julie Dawson (4 months ago)DO NOT RECOMMEND – Take the extra time and drive to another location for better service. I attempted to purchase prescribed dog food from this location but was denied by Matt and the older Cashier that was working Sunday morning 1/29/23. I had the RX from the Veterinarian but as asked to drive to the Whitemarsh location to the Banfield to get the RX placed on a Banfield card and then come back. What an idiotic request. I had purchased the same dog food a month prior from the Abingdon location without any issue. Regardless of what I need, I will ALWAYS drive out of my way and go to another location to avoid this one at all costs.By Lisa M (4 months ago)Sorry, I can’t remember the two ladies that assisted me when I bought 5 new birds!! I fell in love with the bonded society finches, 2 parakeets, and a female zebra finch. I love all the songs I get to hear now!By bridget richards (3 months ago)Always helpful staff, clean, and just a great store to visit!By Amanda Heying (in the last week)

- Reviews:I’m only giving 3 star due to customer service every time I came in. It was so hard to get help and when I did it seamed as if I was bothering them. I wanted to get some fish and each time I went in I was told by different people totally different amounts and types. After doing my own research and then piecing the 5 gallon tank I pulled the trigger on 4 fancy tailed guppies for my little girl. I still end up spending $200 for just 5 gallon tank, decorations, setup and fish. Just do your own research before you go on what you want.By Timothy Johnson (3 weeks ago)Every time i come here there just seems to be more and more dead fish. So sad. Train your employees better if you’re going to sell animals.By Delaney DeJohn (a month ago)If I could rate no stars I would! I received the worst customer service at the bel air pet hotel location . I took my dog there to board while we went away for the weekend. I take her there with all paperwork records of shots. The guy working there would not except my dog because it did not specify wether her distemper was 6 months, or 1 year however, it had the date given which would still make the distemper good for 6 or 1 year. He gave me such a hard time and told me to take responsibility and obtain the information or I could not board her. As I tried to get the Information online he asked me to leave the area and go outside. Then he processed to say some curse words and joke with other employees. I decided I did not want my dog left there even if I did get the information. I then left and had to make other arrangements. This is supposed to be a pleasant convenient service and it was very I unpleasant and stressful! I would not recommend this place to anyone! The picture is of my records I had with dates! Very sad!By Krista Maler (6 months ago)Excellent store!!! It was fritzies first visit to the groomers and we couldn’t be happier with how he was treated!!!! Thank you!!!!By Terri Campbell (4 months ago)I have used the grooming department at Bel Air PetSmart by the Hartford Mall for over seven years. I absolutely love my groomer, Bethany! I adopted both my cats from there. The wait was long but it was worth it. The ppl at BARCS truly care for all their animals. There was a fee associated with the adoption but it was for the spay/nurture for both cats. They were kittens when I adopted them and are cats now. I love my babies. BARCS is doing great things for the community. ????
I got my pitbull there about 3 years ago. They were very nice quick and efficient staff. All of her medical and behavior issues were disclosed before the adoption she had puppies recently before being found a stray and had to stay in the medical wing for a month before she was adoptable. I couldn’t have found a better match for my life than her. My family members have also adopted numerous dogs here throughout their life and have always been pleased with their kind staff. Place is always clean and well maintained you can tell they really love the dogs.
BARCS is AWESOME, they have help me so much with my community cats! They have literally never turned me away when I needed help with one of my colony cats. I have showed up 10 minutes before closing with sick, 1 day old kittens and they sprung into action and got them into an incubator and stabilized. They also helped a colony cat of mine with a horrible abscess on his ear and neutered him at the same time. They really do so much for the community, the staff is amazing, but please be kind to them. Their job is a thankless one and they get overwhelmed and have feelings too plus they go above and beyond time after time. I try my very best not to show up near or after closing unless it’s an actual emergency. Oh and their vets are great! I truly recommend BARCS for anyone taking care of community cats or colonies, renting humane traps, trading stuck out injured cats, kittens and dogs, surrendering animals and escape fur adopting! BARCS has also started doing long term fostering for people who have been evicted or are moving out, going to jail for a few months or rehab, they really are a great shelter and community resource. Here’s pictures of one of my colony cats, they fixed his ear up and neutered him for me. He’s now healed, healthy and happy! Thank u BARCS ????
My boyfriend and I were interested in adopting a cat named big boi and fell totally in love with him. We went back and forth with the staff regarding his medical problems because of him being an owner surrender. The staff told us it was nothing to worry about and that he would be fine once he found his forever home. We went back on Sunday to see him one more time before his neuter surgery and he not only had a cold and was taking antibiotics but the kennel log did not match his medical records given to us. The staff was not all on the same page and even one of the vet techs came outside and didn’t spell his name correctly in the system and told us there was nothing wrong with him at all. The staff had awful customer service towards us and was very rude. Half of them brushed off his health conditions and wouldn’t give us the whole story on what came with taking care of him as they didn’t really know either. I will say if you decide to adopt a cat ask for April in matchmaking because she was great and very honest and upfront with us about everything. I made multiple attempts to figure out what was really going on with him but the whole time felt rushed out and that there was no communication. All they want to do is get animals out and don’t even ask questions like where you live or ask to see the house to make sure the animal is going into a safe home. I don’t understand how there’s so many positive reviews about this place.
BARCS is incredible. They are truly saving lives every single day. I am a corporate volunteer and have adopted two Huskies from BARCS within the last month. The volunteers and staff are the best; they truly love the animals like their own. The adoption process is terrific. I could go on! My Huskies are the kindest, most wonderful souls! I love volunteering at BARCS and am so grateful for my furbabies!
