- Reviews:Rescued two male kittens here from the annual Kitten Showers, one from this past year and one from 2020. He came with a gift basket that included treats, wet food, 3 toys, a adorable travel water/food bowl combo and sample of his previous diet for smooth transition (brilliant idea!❤️) The cats are absolute joys to have and be around. They’re both affectionate, playful and are easily handled. Pictured is Pup-pup (aka Miso now) who is a 6 m/o from a litter of 3 that was owner surrendered. My previous is Jaxon who came from an identical background. Fair pricing for the animals, especially with their shots, neuter, preventative care for pests and both boys had a clean bill of health. For the previous review of the litter of kittens who had respiratory illness post adoption, the facility makes you sign a waiver that says you acknowledge there may be possible health issues present they are not aware of or that may arise later on. “Adopt, if you can’t adopt, foster. If you can’t foster, volunteer. If you can’t volunteer, donate. If you can’t donate, spread awareness.” hope to volunteer here one day to give thanks for all they do and to assist with the need to give these precious beings the love and care they so deserve!By Luci Purr (4 months ago)What an amazing place. My father passed away a couple of weeks ago, and my mother’s birthday was today. She has had a cat her entire life, but has been pet-free for the last two years or so. I decided for her birthday, that we would go adopt an adult cat from the shelter. The staff and volunteers were all so friendly and welcoming. They were able to find the perfect cat for my mom within minutes. Then to top of the sweetness pie, we were told there was no adoption fee because a “young man” had donated the adoption fee for the cat we chose. I asked if it was the a former family member, but no it wasn’t. It was evidently a little boy from the area whose family would not allow him to have a pet cat. I was told the little boy raised the money to sponsor the cat’s adoption, and had come in and picked a cat to sponsor before we arrived that day. What a wonderful organization. I know where I will go if I ever need to add a new member to my family. Thank you all for what you do!By Vanessa Bruland (a month ago)Thank you, Animal Welfare League of Charlotte County. I’m so grateful that you have a program to help pet owners with low income be able to afford to take the best care of their pet. I was able to get Luna spayed, which was very important to her health. She was also brought current on her rabies vaccine thank you again. And she received a microchip from your facility a few months ago. Luna is a happy girl. She is resting today from her surgery yesterday. If you need a compassionate, knowledgeable, dependable, helpful veterinarian check out Animal Welfare League of Charlotte County. They can help you with most things concerning your pet. They can even help you find the pet you need.By Florida Treasures (3 months ago)I love the animals. I watch the site all the time to see who comes in, who gets adopted. I’m looking to adopt again. My beef is with whoever answered the phone today. I asked about Lucky. She was rude, cold, would not say what happened to him-didn’t even suggest other dogs! I’ve adopted twice here. Both were great dogs. It’s a shame the face of the shelter is so miserable she can’t be accommodating and helpful. Is it against the law to ask if an animal has been adopted? Good luck emailing too. Didn’t give her name. She sounds old and miserable.By Lin Duh (5 months ago)Adopted these three little cuties this weekend. Everyone seemed so nice and patient.. We are so happy with our three new little additions. Wasn’t to excited to find out they all had an upper respiratory infection and the one had a bad case of ring worm on its tail. We had to spend a few hundred dollars to get meds for all three cats. Then multiple people in my home caught the ring worm from these cats. It’s been months and we are still battling it. My smallest child has lost hair and now on 6 weeks of antibiotics and special shampoo all because they sold us a cat that had ring worm and didn’t tell us!!! I would get a cat somewhere else. They were not honest and open about the situation.By Erica Kalena (4 months ago)

- Reviews:Adrian the manager is so friendly and fantastic ! Helped me with the purchase of an adorable pink toe tarantula and gave me a lot of insight to keeping and caring for one that wasn’t in my research. 10/10 am going to go back for future purchases and knowledge from the wonderful staff. Thank You ! Pandora is thrivingBy Timmy Healy (2 weeks ago)Thoroughly enjoyed our shopping experience today! Adriane and her team were incredibly helpful picking out new treats and food. I would highly recommend making this your local store to shop at!By Kate Trump (3 weeks ago)Very poor customer service on behalf of the store manager, Adrian. The cashier was very polite and helpful. We came in for 2 feeder mice and 2 dozen crickets and when we got to the counter, alot of them were dead and there was less than a dozen in the bag. My husband had asked them to correct it so the manager went and dumped them out. We walked over after paying to grab the crickets and the manager was very rude from the start, told him she hand picked them and shewed us out the door with her hand. My husband asked her why she felt the need to be rude and that it was unacceptable as we were standing there with our 8 year old son. Choosing a different pet store from now on. I’d much rather drive 25 minutes than to deal with managers like her. Customer care was not shown today.By Lindsey Dziesinski (a month ago)Knowledgeable staff and healthy fish. Good selection of pet products too for varies pets. You can easily shop here for all your household pet needs. *6/29 edit (originally 5 star review)* This location seems to be going downhill more and more each time I come when it comes to staff. As I write this I am STILL waiting for my crickets I purchased, as it has been quite awhile since she started bagging. I’ve had to sit and watch while she stops mid bagging to talk to her friends that kept coming back multiple times..one of the managers ended up taking over for her on the register since business was nonstop after thah point. This is the worst customer service I’ve experienced here, and the longest its ever taken to get crickets. Some of the staff doesn’t look very hygienic either which can be a bit off putting when wanting to ask for assistance for anything in here. (It’s been 12 minutes since I started this and we JUST NOW finally got all our crickets and got to leave, and we had been waiting for her to finish bagging around 5 to 10 minutes prior to the 12 minute wait) I’m not one to normally call out by name but our cashier Juliette was not attentive at all. Even a few other times in the past when the worker chose to talk to with friends or coworkers it has NEVER taken OVER 10 minutes to get crickets (even for a large amount). Everytime she talked to the girls who kept.coming up to her she would stop bagging crickets increasing our wait time. She was also really quiet and barely spoke to us during checkout which made the checkout process longer than it needed to be.By Abbie Newlin (12 months ago)I used to work here and god has the quality of the store gone down. It smells disgusting, shelving and fronting is messy. Animal care is horrible, rabbits without hides. There was a tree frog in an enclosure without proper substrate (had one of those green felt mats instead of coco fiber and bark to retain humidity in the tank). The most poor quality enclosure I saw while I was there was this Mudskipper bin. They weren’t in a tank or anything; just a plastic bin with no air holes, filter, or anything to keep them in proper health. I will gladly go to PetSmart or Petco in Port Charlotte to buy supplies for my animals there than shop here again. They didn’t even have dried mealworms. Overall I don’t reccomend shopping here. They barely have supplies for repitles or any other pet that’s not a dog or cat.By Tomboyish Otaku (11 months ago)

The staff here could not possibly be nicer. I used them to put our beloved pet to sleep. After 17 years, she was at the point where she could no longer stand or relieve herself. The staff was very kind and supportive, and they were able to end her pain with grace. They took a very painful situation and made it a little better. May God bless them all.
We went to adopt a cat and they were so friendly and helpful! We ended up with the sweetest boy and were so happy to have found him! Thanks Cat Cuddlers!
All the animals were very relaxed and comfortable. Check them out if you’re looking to adopt!
I have adopted 3 cats from there and it was great every time.
Absolutely amazing and so so friendly. We were very nervous to take our girl in to get spayed because she had a bad experience with her previous vet, but they knew exactly how to handle her. The biggest relief was that she is an American Bully (looks like a pit bull) and no one was scared of her!! It was very cost effective and saved us hundreds of dollars compared to going to a private vet. They even gave her a chicken nugget after her surgery 🙂 Overall an amazing experience. Thank you Suncoast Humane Society!!
Absolutely LOVE Suncoast. I’m a local realtor & I donate $100 worth of supplies to a local animal shelter after each closing that I have. I donated here this last time & the staff is amazing & really seem to care about their animals, which is a breath of fresh air!
