3 months agoI had my Wedding and reception at the Rothschild-Pound House Inn and it was beyond perfect! The owner Mamie and her Son took care of everything for us, all my fiancée and I had to do was show up. The ceremony was in the garden and was absolutely magical with a violin and cello player, the Chaplin was provide and he was excellent. The food, wedding cake and champagne provided for toast were all over the top in presentation, elegance and freshness. Our guests couldn’t stop talking about how beautiful and perfect everything was and they are still talking about our perfect wedding. The street parking is plentiful with sidewalks for guests to use.4 months agoI will now give 2 stars, since they responded to me- however the Pond House evidently cannot spell last names. I booked directly through their site, so the 3rd party insinuation is incorrect. The money was removed from my AMEX account today, so no incorrect information there. While I appreciate your comments about a “generous return policy”, I certainly failed to see this in action. In the end, a review is simply that. The Internet has many flaws but it does provide a platform to give an account of what happened in that one instance, and I have my facts exactly right. Have a nice day!7 months agoWe got married here on new years day 2023!!! Everything turned out perfectly. We planned this wedding in 11 days and I couldn’t have been happier on the way it turned out. We had our ceremony in the courtyard and it’s so beautiful out there. Seriously magical fairytale feels. Our pictures were perfect and everything was so beautiful. Mammie was so sweet and there every step of the way on the big day. The house was beautiful and definitely gives a true historical feel.11 months agoWhile this is our very first bed and breakfast we have nothing to compare an experience to. We found the owner Mamie Pound to be extremely pleasant and courteous. We thoroughly enjoyed the old victorian style home inside and out. Breakfast was good served outside on the wrap around porch. So as we read other not so flattering reviews our experience was quite pleasant and wouldn’t not hesitate if the need should arise to be in Columbus again. To change the subject if your in town for the white water rafting do not fail to ask about the water level before you book. We booked 11:00 am today it was a low water level experience to which we got a refund because we had to get back to Knoxville by this evening.a year agoWe thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Rothschild- Pound House. We stayed in the Governor Forsyth suite which was quite unusual and special. The jacuzzi was wonderful, we loved that kitty soap, and the bed and pillows were so comfortable! We appreciated how responsive Mamie, the owner, was to our needs and how she worked with us to address any concerns that came up. She is currently in the process of remodeling the main house so you might be aware that there is not a full breakfast at this time. However, she gave us the choice of a continental breakfast or a voucher to go buy breakfast on our own. Thank you, Mamie, for sharing your lovely home with us. We hope to come again.

This was a great place to stay at!! Rooms are done very nicely and always clean; staff was always willing to help, friendly and professional; breakfast was great. I loved the outdoor space outside with the pool and lounging area. The front lobby was decorated in a manner that was inviting, modern yet funky, lots of places to sit around and hang out with friends & family. Overall I loved staying here for the 3 days I was in GA for my son’s Army Graduation. If I go there again I’ll make sure to stay here.
My family and I stayed there for two nights from 9/19/19 thru 9/21/19. We were in Columbus for my son’s graduation at Fort Benning. It was less than 10 minutes from the base. We loved the cleanliness of the hotel. I especially loved that the floors of the room were wooden/ laminated and not carpeted. When I stay in other hotels I am always uncertain of how clean those carpets are. So if you have allergies this is the place for you. The entire room itself was clean and the bathroom was great. Plenty of toiletries were available and replenished daily. The kitchen in the room was a nice touch for those guests who prefer to cook.
Breakfast was tasty and they not only had a waffle maker, but also an automated pancake maker. There was plenty of fruits, scrambled eggs, sausage, bagels, bread, pastries, oatmeal, and cereal. Coffee was in the lobby at all times. The front desk and breakfast staff were wonderfully polite and helpful.
We will definitely be back to stay at this hotel the next time we are in Columbus, Georgia.
Thank you for a wonderful stay.
Booked 2 rooms for Army graduation. location is excellent for the base. Convenient distance to “downtown”. Main lobby had an “off” smell when we arrived (perhaps cleaning material?), but it was not noticeable any other time we were in lobby. Rooms were excellent! Comfy beds and pillows (2 on the king bed-)Clean, equipped with microwave, silverware, large fridge (not under counter size usually found), toiletries etc. I love the fact that rooms have new wood-look tile floors rather than carpet! Much cleaner than carpet!! Great bar-b-que in pool area. Breakfast was perfect–variety of cereals, waffles, pancakes, pastries, eggs, Canadian bacon milk, juice etc. Variety of coffee bar in the lobby all the time. Staff is so friendly!
The employee’s were extremely nice. But I was given a room where you didn’t need a key to get in. You can tell the door had been kick in. I then was put in another room. The floors were extremely fealty. I had to use their bathroom towels to mop the floor just to be comfortable.
This is my go to when I stay in Columbus. Very reasonably priced, the rooms are nice, breakfast, pleasant staff and really close to Ft Moore.
