- Reviews:3/15/23: Room 3 aka the bat cave was normal. They’re asking for expensive add-ons and things that were never offered before. I’m not paying $200 extra per dog. I just want what I paid for in their plan. If they are sick or it’s an emergency that’s different. Get real inflation has us all in a choke hold. 6/10/22: our first time going back into a room in 2 years. The dogs went under the bench and waited to come out until the end but that’s usual. Clean and informative. Turnover it looks like but I hope I’m wrong but onward and upward if I’m right. Good for them. 1/17/2022: I love the Receptionist and vet crew. The Nurse really knew my dog’s case and saw her improvement. He also knew my other dog and gave him some love. 6/4/21: I used their vet services. My dog came home thirsty. She spent 5 minutes at her water bowl. That hasn’t happened before not at the other location. She was taken care of but I had to call she was one of their last appointments of the day. I did make an appointment. I’m going to check to see if it’s better when I take my other dogs in 2 weeks. July 2020: I used curbeside pickup and I love it. I’ll definitely be using it again. I grabbed my dog food without the hassle of going in plus I got a free dog toy and chew treat. My two dogs are going to love it. The employee was nice and had jokes. Made my Monday better. It didn’t take long which I appreciate since I was on my lunch break. February 2020: They only had one register open so there was a wait even for pick ups. I was there way longer than I should’ve been. When I did receive help they got my order and gave me a cart so I could get it to my car. They were very willing to help. I’ll be back to this location soon.By Nya (3 months ago)Kind of a messy store. Every isle had odd items left in them from other isles. There were big utility shelves full of boxes in the way if about 3 aisles. Carts with items for stocking and step stools in the way. I kept thinking where are all the people who should be unpacking all this stuff? Lol and if they aren’t working why is all of it out and in the way? Just stick it in back until you have time. Also there were only like 5 dog beds to choose from. Pretty low inventory on what we were looking for and what was there was just kind of a mess. Long line too so I assume they were short staffed will still give them another go but management should know the store was not presentable today. Oh and a girl with colored hair was in line behind us, the cashier made a comment like “Hey I’ve never seen someone call in sick then come to work to shop before, are you feeling okay?” ???????? we definitely laughed at that. What nerve to leave a store high and dry then come buy cat litter. Kudos to him for calling her out. He seemed to say it in good fun but we were pretty amazed she would do that. Wow girl.By Kelsie Ferguson (2 years ago)Wonderful staff who all have an amazing knowledge for the novice pet owner to the expert. They go above and beyond to please the customers and I want to say a thank you to Amanda in the fish department, she was kind and exceptional to my daughter and myself and helped us get the right fix for our fish tank through her experience and knowledge that she kindly shared with me. Thank youBy That Guy (a month ago)Paid $102 dollars for my puppy to get groomed and she is shedding more that she was when I took her in. This is my last time here I gave them a chance when she was a puppy but they have not improved. she came back the same as I dropped her off furry and shedding with no haircut or grooming.By Fabian Seemungal (2 months ago)Jesus. Debra who works in the fish area, pretty sure the manager, is extremely rude. Rolling eyes, condescending. I will take the drive to Glendale to go to Petsmart to avoid Debra. She definitely fits the bill of Aurora.By Martinez M (in the last week)

- Reviews:Great animal shelter. Went here for pet license related stuff. Really nice and better wait time than with Denver motor vehicles. Nate that served us at Counter 1 was super cooperative and helpful and made sure everything was good to go, so was the rest of the staff there too. The other customers were super nice too, and the place also had a good atmosphere. Overall, great animal shelter. Will be back! Highly recommend!By Nikolai Mannsfeld (3 months ago)Very caring and friendly. We love our dog now named Boomer ( he was Zeus @kennel). He definitely found his forever home,!By jewell warner (JULES) (8 months ago)We had an incident here today and the shelter went out of their way to ensure my dog was okay and we were taken care of. For 6 years I have maintained these are some of the classiest shelter officials I’ve ever met. I adopted my dog two years ago and amidst everything that was going on they remembered and spoke fondly of him from his time there. They made adopting a puppy and dealing with what happened extremely comfortable and a breeze. Please adopt their dogs, shelter numbers are going up and adoptions are dropping. Rita, pawcino and the pup love each other. Thankyou for everything today.By Mark Shipman (2 months ago)We adopted Zuko this week and he’s such a sweetheart! He seems so happy and loves his new yard, bed, toys, and family. It’s obvious that DAS took great care of him and they were a great shelter to work with. Highly recommend.:)By Brit H (3 months ago)Adopted a Kitten during month of $50 adoption fee, what a deal! I received her with being vaccinated and spayed. She has fit in well with our family. Thank you Denver Animal Shelter for providing such great pets.By Nicole Wagner (in the last week)

This shelter is amazing. They helped us get a cat that was adopted in New Bern NC and surrendered in Denver back to NC. The staff was friendly and kind. You could see the love as I saw them walking some of the dogs. So if you need a new pet, ADOPT DON’T SHOP. If you just need a place to make a donation please consider donating to DFL.
Pleasantly surprised to see that they got a much needed face lift. The facility was very clean no odd smells. The staff was very engaging and knowledgeable. The enclosure for each animal is very clean. Very positive experience. Recommend this establishment.
Great shelter! Every dog has toys to play with and large kennels. I adopted a long-stay dog and was given a gift basket full of treats and toys as well as a dog bed to take home. They are always doing adoption specials and have great discounts available for seniors. The staff will give you toys and treats to use during your meet and greet. My dog is almost 5 years old and is so easy. He did have crazy energy the first few days home but has since calmed down allot. He is just a sweet, happy guy 🙂
This location is pretty fun. Friendly staff and really work hard to ensure you adopt a pet that is right for you. The cat pavilion is super fun while you’re waiting to be seen. I recommend go early in the morning to avoid long wait times. Usually by 12 they stop accepting applications. But depending how busy they are.
They take really good care of all the animals! They try to make sure that you are a good fit for the animal. We adopted a lab mix years ago and she’s been my snuggle buddy for years. We just adopted another pup and she gets along with both other doggas. Couldn’t have found a better fit. Thank you all so so much!! They are learning to snuggle on day 6 since adoption. So much running! The new pup wasn’t potty trained but she is learning super fast. They’re gonna be super happy when we get the new grass.
