What People Are Saying: 5 Customer Reviews

  1. Staff’s derelict really broke our heart. On Tuesday, we decided to adopt a 3-month-old kitten, Lilac. We weren’t allowed because the staff said the kitten would take the spay surgery on Wednesday. And we could only pick her up on Wednesday. We communicated with her that we could take her to do the spay surgery by ourselves and just wanted to take her home asap, due to inconvenience for us to travel from NJ to Brooklyn. But she insisted. We thought it was fine. We left but then we realized we were not available on Wednesday and came back to ask the staff whether we could come here on Thursday. Another white girl came out and told us it was okay and we could come there anytime between 10am to 5pm to finish the adoption process. We conveyed our concern about losing Lilac many times. She guaranteed that Lilac definitely belonged to us, which seemed to be so ‘trustworthy’. Things changed today when we called to to confirm our show-up. The staff told us the kitten was not available because someone claimed to see her this afternoon at 3pm and we’d be second on the adoption list. They insisted our appointment time was Wednesday no matter how we explained the whole thing is. They also told us we’d not be accepted even if we dropped off this afternoon. We were really heartbroken. We thought we were discriminated because the white girl seemed to intentionally stop us from getting our kitten. To sum up, it’s really heartbroken and we’d never choose this animal care center again.

  2. Had a great and smoothe visit thanks to a great counselor…will definitely recommend to other family members and friends…

  3. My sister adopted coco AKA Zayie on June 1st. This shelter reported that coco was surrender by the owner in good conditions on may 21st of 2023 and stated coco only had a small cough. Upon receiving a vet voucher, the vet provided her with antibiotics for the cough, medication to increase her appetite and antibiotics for her being spayed on site. Unfortunately, upon bringing coco home. It was noted, she had shortness of breath, chronic coughing, could not eat or drink water on her own she would sometimes cry, coco was in so much pain she couldn’t even bark. since coco appeared to be more I’ll than what was stated at the shelter a second medical opinion was provided in which it was discovered coco was physically and emotionally neglected. The shelter did not care for coco upon being surrendered by the initial owner and they did not follow post procedure follow up care with my sister. Coco passed away due to ACC neglect despite my sister calling for assistance. A 311 complaint # EC-00639256 was made yesterday , 06/05 regarding the shelter’s lack thereof and they decided to call my sister privately to harass her and to state that coco was given in a healthy state which was not true.i also provided pictures of how ACC decided to post coco up for adoption in poor conditions. My sister also took good care of coco in her final days and this shelter needs to be inspected.

  4. I have had a great experience with the Brooklyn site every time I needed their services. The staff are wonderful. Everyone that I have encountered have been very polite and helpful.

My first experience was when I was forced to surrender 4 of my feline children (mommy cat and three of her babies). I already had 2 boys and my husband didn’t know at the time that he brought home the 3rd that she was a pregnant kitten. They took their time with me, knowing it was a difficult process. They kept me updated after the kittens were surrendered and I was relieved to know that all four of them were adopted in less than a day.

My second and most recent experience was that I needed to have 2 of my boys neutered. I was already in their parking lot when I called and spoke to to someone (Desiree) over the phone. I told her I was outside and she came and saw me face to face, and even gave me a little care package for my kittens. She got me in touch with Community Pets Program, another wonderful program operated by The Toby Project mobile clinic and I was able to have them neutered and vaccinated. Thanks Jessica and team from Community Pets.

All in all, I have nothing but great praises for the service provided at the Brooklyn site of the Animal Care Centers of NYC.

  5. This place really cares about your animals. I went in this afternoon to have my cat euthanized. The staff was very kind and caring to me. I recommend this place to everyone.

Amazing place. Stuff is so helpful, professional and friendly. They are very patient and respectful. They are truly pationate and client oriented, I don’t really have enough words to describe how happy I am to have wonderful kitten. Judith is happy and healthy kitten. They really care about animals and they need more support from the community. I highly recommend to go there if you are ready to adopt. They have cats, dogs, turtles, bunnies, parrots and Lizards. Almost everything. You can adopt same day and walk out with your new friend.

Mom and I were looking for a male cat but we adopted Olivia aka Monkey. She’s very affectionate and sweet. Anna and Mark were very helpful in the adoption process.

I love this place. It offers you an opportunity to volunteer and walk dogs, you can pet the kitties and visit with an array of birds and reptiles. I went here with no intentions on buying or adopting and I came home with a ???? kitten lol ????. His name was Larry and he was the cutest little guy, not knowing he was pre tending lol (he’s very spunky and cute ) now I have renamed him ziri he comes with his shots a micro chip paper work and free docs visits as well. I spent $400 – $250 for adopting the rest were accessories and carrying case. The staff were kind and friendly. All of my friends go here and my neighbors it’s truly a gem in our community and when you rescue one you make space for another as this is a no kill shelter. Here’s an updated on baby as of January 23

We had a solid experience with Sean Casey. Really sweet people working here, loving on the animals. We’d wanted to adopt a rescue dog for a while, and found the option of getting to know him through walks before commuting was really helpful. I love that anyone can go here and walk a dog, just by learning their ID and following some basic rules. Highly recommend a visit!

The cutest and most adorable cats/kittens ever! My husband and I are cat cafe veterans and this has the most cats of any cat cafe we’ve ever been to (except maybe Japan). We like that this place let us feed the cats which was unique (the one in LES doesn’t). The cats were so friendly and I sincerely wish we could have taken some home with us but we’re still training our 10 month old puppy. Parking was also great – so it was easy to get to for us. We’ll definitely visit again when we’re in town!

The moment we came in were friendly, happy, beautiful cats all greeting us. It was like we died and went to heaven. If we could have stayed the whole day it would have flown by. This company has an amazing and important vision, helping cats in need, and every penny u spend here is towards their mission!!! The cats will thank you! The staff is warm and love talking about each and every critter there. We will be back soon! Paul and EV

There were so many cats here, and they were all very well taken care of. They had lots of space. It was very calm, quiet, and the setting was very cozy. You’re supposed to make an appointment ahead of time, but you can also try heading in and make an appointment on the spot. It is $10/per person for 30 mins and we were able to enjoy an array of snacks and bottled drinks. It’s not so much a cafe as the name of the store says, but more like an open cage cat rescue with a comfy and homey setting Overall, my experience left me feeling motivated and refreshed. The cats I interacted with were so attentive and enjoyed playing with the toys I offered! **Do pay attention to the color of the collars as they will indicate how you should approach them

When I went they no longer served any food/beverages. However they let you bring closed container drinks. They sold shirts/magnets/hoodies and pins. If you make a donation of $5 you get a cup of treats to feed the cats. To my surprise there were turtles and rabbits. Very relax place, not too many rules. For weekends do book ahead they do sell out..$10 for 30 minutes. Buy your tickets online and sign your waiver. No need to be there 15 minutes early. The check in is easy, you open the door, tell your name. they give you a sticker and tell you some rules and who to check out with. the place is decent, about 3 “areas”. The front is a large window with many cat beds. Near it there was a mom and her kittens in an enclosure. the back area had a lot of the fishing toys. At 3pm most cats were napping so try to go earlier! I have been to 7 cat cafes across the US, this is one of the larger ones ( space wise).

Very very cute place. Kind staff and fun kitties Make reservations!!! it’s 10$ per 30min Which is reasonable and enough to interact with them. If you want to interact with them come when they are not sleeping (morning or evening). Amazing place. We went with 3 kids. Lived it. If you go on school break, holidays or weekend make a reservation on their website. Nice place. Have a great area around. You can walk before or after.
