What People Are Saying: 5 Customer Reviews

  1. My first time trying Joy Yee and I didn’t disappoint. Their menu was quite extensive (drinks and food). I got the strawberry smoothie and their spicy Szechuan beef with tomato rice. It was incredibly delicious, fresh, and just the right spice. I highly recommend this restaurant.

  2. The food is definitely worth a try, I love the fruit freeze drinks. Big portions and a huge menu!

  3. Good place to have dinner with friends .
They have a large variety of meat, rice, seafood and also you can have Bubble Tea !

  4. A quality Chinese / Asian restaurant that serves up high quality/non greasy Chinese food favorites right in Evanston not far from Northwestern University.

I recommend the shrimp fried rice and crab ragoon but everything they have seems really good. The portions are also very good.

The service is friendly and quick. They are also available on many food delivery apps.

They also have fresh fruit smoothies and frozen drinks.

Give them a try and you will be happy you did!

  5. Great value for the price! This place gives very generous portions. The food was flavorful and the bubbles teas are a must try of course. They can be very sweet but I was fine with that since I have a bit of a sweet tooth.
The best one IMO was the coffee bubble tea. Definitely check that one out if you like coffee.
    The eel was fantastic too!

You can’t go wrong with this vegetarian option. I’ve had The Green Salad a number of times, always fresh, and even for take-out orders it is quite a large portion that could be split up for 3 persons and the price is perfect under $10. It comes with 2 small containers of ginger dressing which is a refreshing flavor apart from your traditional American salad dressings. On this take-out order I also had Miso soup and spring rolls and were a delicious combination that I highly recommend to warm you up on cold evenings. I will be coming back to try other dishes.

We ordered four Chinese dishes, and they were not good at all. Very bland, wrong use of spices and sauces. The environment was great, but couldn’t enjoy my food because it just wasn’t good at all. Tasted like microwave Panda Express. Would not recommend for anyone that wants actual Asian cuisine.

I came to Koi with a group of 10 Latina women, and we received the most fantastic service and food. Everything was so fresh and cooked to perfection. The drinks were just beautiful and super tasty. Our group kept ordering drinks throughout our dinner, and they were always made perfectly and brought out quickly. I highly recommend Koi for large groups, corporate events, and celebrations. I would also highly recommend this place for people of color who want excellent service in a super welcoming environment.

Delicious, I came Wednesday night for happy hour and saw the sign for weekend brunch. So I’m back today- Saturday. Dim sum is delicious. $12 bottomless mimosas! Koi is the place to be

My boyfriend and I strolled downtown Evanston last night looking for a place to eat and landed here. So glad we did!! We missed their Happy Hour specials but everything was perfectly prepared and reasonably priced. The atmosphere was pretty. Felt fancy enough for two people to feel like they’re on a nice date, but not too pretentious that we couldn’t walk in from the street. They had to seat us at the bar since we had no reservation but it turned out great cuz we were the only ones seated there for a while. The bartender was super nice and made some fantastic drinks. I had the Dragon Mai Tai. Super good! We ordered the steamed dumplings…twice! Never did that before! Lol. We got a couple entrees (lemon chicken & sesame chicken), and eggplant as a side. The eggplant could have literally been its own meal. So savory! Everything hit the spot. Also there was easy parking in a garage nearby, only $5. We will definitely be coming back!

It was amazing to find a Calcutta inspired indo-chinese restaurant. Awesome experience, should go back for the specialty drinks one day. Happy to find Hakka noddles and chilli chicken, which was nice and spicy and not unnecessarily sweet. The garlic rice was very pleasant, though I wish it stood out a bit more.

Fantastic place with great service and flavor! They are an Indo-Chinese Halal place with a ton of great options. We got Momo Chicken dumplings and Chilli Chicken appetizer which were both amazing! Really enjoyed them. We got Khow suey noodles which were super flavorful and great. The “Burned Garlic Fried Rice” was a little bland, so we used the noodle sauce to add more spice. I personally didn’t like the hot and sour soup, but it was made really well (just not my taste). Don’t recommend the Nojito mocktail (just glorified sprite). Their service was really fantastic especially so close to closing time. All the staff were constantly checking in and willing to make adjustments to the food as needed. Food was overall really good – definitely recommend the momos and chilli chicken. They recommend reservations on weekends or for large groups! It was pretty full on Friday evening.

I’ve been to this place several times since it opened around 4 years ago. This started off as a great place for Indo-Chinese cuisine in Chicagoland. The restaurant has seen its share of ups and downs in the last 4 years and finally, it seems like there’s been a change in ownership. The food options are more or less the same, maybe one or two options have been deleted. But on our most recent visit, the food was exceptional and faultless. Felt nostalgic eating Manchurian and noodles. We had baby corn, vegetable momo , Chili garlic noodles, chili garlic tofu , and gobi (cauliflower) Manchurian. The portion sizes was big and the food was well-spiced. I’ve always liked the ambience of the place, service was quick and attentive. I had been a bit upset with their take-outs in the past, but honestly in terms of the quality of food, and especially for dine-in, it is back to it’s full glory now. There is a lot less staff around , which is understandable given the significant shortage of staffing in general in the food and service industry. But those who were around, did a great job. Very happy that this place is moving back towards what it used to be like when it opened.

An excellent Indian-Chinese restaurant in Evanston. It surely remembered us about the yummy Calcutta street Chinese foods. They are really awesome. If you would like to have good Indian Chinese food, this place is a must!!! I fully recommend this restaurant…

Love the fact that we can get some authentic Indo Chinese food in Chicago. The location is on prime downtown area Davis Street. U can find street parking behind the block. Everything was tasty. We ordered mango lychee Mocktail which was very tasty, vegetarian Momos, baby corn Chilli and Hakka Noodles. Momos were balanced flavor wise, baby corn is medium spicy, so your taste buds will dance, finally to finish off we ordered Hakka Noodles, they are wok fried and balanced salt pepper and sou sauce, not spicy at all. Everything was delicious and we will come back again. The service was quick as well.
