What People Are Saying: 5 Customer Reviews

  1. Great experience for my first time going. I had been wanting to try and stumbled upon this place while driving through York. I ordered the White Rose Burger, which includes pulled pork with the usual toppings. It was delicious, and my server Natalie did a great job. The vibe of the restaurant was really chill with different hits from the 2000s+ (when I went at least). The price was a little high, but worth it after I left fully satisfied. Definitely worth a try if you’re in the area.

  2. Cold beers on tap with a great happy hour. Chill local spot with great service and good quality food. The patio seating is open and enjoyable. My wife had the Taco’s which were delicious and I had the American burger.

  3. Nice Corner Place in the center city York pennsylvania. Overall the environment is nice, it’s clean and they have a nice variety of food. We only came here for some appetizers and the appetizers were pretty tasty. Prices for the appetizers are actually pretty decent. Overall a nice trip, our server was also good.

  4. Wandered in, sat at the bar. Bartender was attentive and working really hard. The whole place ran really smoothly, obvious teamwork among the staff.

Fair prices for such good quality. Full bar and cool tap choices.

Crab cakes had plenty of lump, broccoli was still a little crunchy … just right! Clams were good with the ghee, fried shrimp was epic … but the homemade hummus stole the show, so fresh but still flavorful. Great between heavy dishes.

Desserts were all great, huge portions for straight up cheap.

  5. Definitely coming back here. We had Ryan as our waiter, he was excellent. My salad and clams were perfect. The Buffalo wings for an appetizer were large nice wings with great flavor. We were here before 6pm on a Saturday, so not too busy. We ate inside, but there is outdoor seating as well.

The staff is very friendly and I did find it to be charming however that’s where the positivity ends. The food is overpriced for what you get. The first picture is the Seafood Trio I ordered and I was looking forward to it since the dish cost $20.99. It was supposed to be shrimp, haddock, and a crab cake. As you can see from the picture, it did not live up to its expectations. That is a sad trio. Four pieces of small shrimp just placed to fill space, the small piece of haddock even more sad looking with barely much color, and the crab cake plopped on there; very poor presentation. The taste was worse; not a hint of seasoning, very bland and left me dissatisfied. For the bit of seasoning on the crab cake, the crab cake became the most seasoned of the trio. The baked potato became the star of the dish instead of the trio itself. The spaghetti my son had was drowned in tomato sauce leaving a plate of sauce when he was done and the garlic bread was less than satisfying. The cheeseburger my daughter had looked more appetizing than my $20.99 trio. With that said, take pride in your food, season it well and price down if you decide to keep your food at these standards. For 4 people and what we ordered, it was not worth $69. If I was only rating according to your staff, then you’d get a higher rating because our waitress was great.

I can’t believe this place is allowed to serve their food to the public. I took two bites and couldn’t take it. It tasted truly awful. They were nice, but they need a new chef. Two pieces of white chicken should not look like this. The gravy was awful and the stuffing wasn’t done…pretty sure the chicken wasn’t either. Bones and veins sticking out everywhere. My gosh, it gave me nausea even thinking about it later. It looked like they just took an axe to a chicken in back and threw a piece in the oven. Nightmare material for real.

My husband and I just recently moved to this area and we found a place that we love to eat. Excellent home made food and service. They also have the best pumpkin pie. It taste like it is fresh off the pumpkin. The waitresses are all great. I love the atmosphere. Always looks clean. It gives you the feel of your typical back home restaurant.

The food is pretty good. But we always wait a long time to be seated. While workers are standing around talking. They look at you and go back to talking. The last time we ended up leaving and going to round the clock. Where they were so much busier. But they acknowledged us right away. And we got a sear right away. This time we almost left again. But finally someone went to find the host. Who has already looked at us. But still said nothing. I won’t go here ofter

Friendly, local feel in this downtown bar/bistro. The food was great and reasonably priced, our server attentive, and the atmosphere was fun but not too noisy. I had a slightly spicy shrimp and grits and my son ordered a gourmet grilled cheese sandwich. There’s a full bar here as well, with special cocktails (plus all the normal things one might order). There’s a big over in the back for hearth-fired pizza (which they are known for).

Honestly I wanted to give 5 stars to this wonderful place but I am not hoping that they improve the taste of the veggie pizza I ordered. We were visiting from NYC and we had a church conference near this place so we went at night after the service. The place is astonishing (even though I didn’t like the human skulls) the staff is amazing and the way you order the food thru their page is new and professional. The pizza I ordered doesn’t have any taste. I wish the chef would reconsider this one with different ingredients or maybe just drop it out of the menu and keep the rest and improve them. Prices are affordable and other food the group had looked better. If you are in a visit I would recommend for late night bite.

I got the breakfast pizza and it was freaking delicious! I got it with the scrambled eggs instead of the dippy eggs and it was perfect!! I had to give compliments to the chef!! The drinks were also good!! I was not impressed with the service at this location. The hostess wasn’t personable at all and didn’t explain to us that this establishment has two options for service. We could either order from the app and have it delivered to the table or have the server take our order. They claim it is to allow for better service but we didn’t see that occur! We sat at the table for 10 minutes before we were greeted at the table. We had empty drinks at our table and had to get the attention of our server for refills. The food is the only reason I’m giving 4 stars!!

5 stars you say? Honestly I really like this place, so I just don’t want to drive down it’s reviews. York needs more places like Fig & Barrel. But…. Please please please fix your kitchen logistics. I went last night for restaurant week and waited over 2 hours for my food. I’m really unsure how, since there aren’t many tables in the restaurant. I can’t imagine them being understaffed on one of their biggest days either. Regardless, I can get over that because the bartenders were so nice and great to talk with. The cocktails were beyond this world, and the food (once finally delivered), was absolutely amazing. Really hope management sees this review and acts on it. You can already see a slew of bad reviews from last night with the same long waiting experience.

So, the food was great! Slow service – bartender was really slow- drinks were great! – but only half pour (see pic). Overall, I’d come back but would be a bit more discerning.”
