Stay far away from here if you want to keep your money that a relative left you from an estate. They charge an arm and a leg for very deficient, unsatisfactory work. There’s a reason why they have such a good looking building because they have outrageous fees for adolescent work. Please if you have a loved one stay far away from here. Minus stars

Mike Yawney is an absolute gentleman and a complete boss. Could never thank him enough. The rest of the team is fabulous too including Kystin Kempton, Emily MacArthur, Dan Draught, Andrew Powell, Elise Allan, just to name a few of their lawyers off the top of my head.

Honestly, the biggest waste of money and time.

I had been corresponding with one of the secretaries. Gave her a full run down of my situation, told her that I had a bunch of documents and that it would hard to attach to the email thread. She responded, “it’s fine and that I should just bring them with me to the meeting”. I had brought down all my documents to the meeting. The lawyer came in to meet with me and right off the bat, he didn’t shake my hand. which whatever, but he proceeded to question me on my business and not in a productive manner but more of a judgemental manner. He just seemed uninterested in helping me. I had pointed out that I had a bunch of documents that he can take a look at. He proceeded to disregard the documents. Instead he told me go to small claims court myself. That would be fine but the damages done to my business exceeded the small claims court amount. I hired a company to do some work in my business and the work wasn’t done, costing me a fair amount of money and more money to fix the situation. Small claims court max’s out at 35k and the damages done to my business and the cost to fix everything would be 50k and more. He even agreed but still told me to go to small claims. I understand that Canada is not like the states where it’s “easier” to sue people. I had paid $350 for an hour but only received 15 minutes of the lawyer’s time. I received better legal advice from Chat GTP than one of Nixon Wenger’s lawyers.

My recommendation to anyone looking for a lawyer. NEVER look for help at Nixon Wenger LLP. Especially if it’s regarding the death of a loved one and their estate. They’re no help to a majority of their clients and just a huge waste of money. To any of the lawyers at this firm reading this, I wonder how you are able to sleep at night.

We chose Nixon Wenger because our family had used them years prior. We very much regret our decision. We were paired with Emily MacArthur when we called there and set up an appointment. My Mom had passed away very suddenly and we were heart broken. We took her will in and met with Emily MacArthur. Each time we met with her she was showed absolutely no compassion or empathy in any way shape or form. Twice during the process we received legal documents with the wrong names on them. Both times we emailed Emily MacArthur and her secretary. Each time the secretary responded, the first time she apologized and the second when we received someone else’s legal papers not even ours it was brushed off by another secretary. Never an apology from Emily MacArthur. We heard from her when more money was required to complete another step in the will. I most certainly would not recommend this lawyer for handling your loved one’s will.

I’ve worked alongside Ben Noorduyn. I can say… that not only is Ben ethical and -very- knowledgeable about the law, he also has a positively contagious energy. A crucial aspect that people should discover before hiring a lawyer is that lawyer’s reputation and ability to work with other lawyers; it will most certainly affect the outcome of the case. Ben has a reputation for being a compassionate lawyer, who will go the extra mile for his clients. Amongst lawyers, his reasonable positions and honest assessments when approaching cases helps his clients obtain favourable results. I would not hesitate for a second to recommend Ben’s family law services.

Top Bankruptcy Lawyer Alternatives in Vernon

The Biggest Bankruptcy Lawyer in Canada

In Vernon, there are several alternatives to hiring a bankruptcy lawyer. These alternatives can provide individuals with the support and guidance they need to navigate their financial challenges without incurring the high costs associated with hiring legal representation. Here are three top bankruptcy lawyer alternatives that are popular in Vernon:

  • Debt Consolidation Companies: As the name suggests, debt consolidation companies help individuals consolidate their debts into a single loan or payment plan. These companies negotiate with creditors on behalf of their clients to reduce interest rates and monthly payments. Debt consolidation can be an effective way to manage multiple debts and potentially avoid bankruptcy.

  • Credit Counseling Agencies: Credit counseling agencies provide financial education and guidance to individuals struggling with debt. These agencies work with their clients to create a budget, develop a repayment plan, and negotiate with creditors. Credit counseling can help individuals gain control over their finances and make progress towards paying off their debts.

  • Debt Settlement Companies: Debt settlement companies negotiate with creditors to reduce the total amount owed by their clients. These companies typically require individuals to make monthly payments into a settlement account, which the company then uses to negotiate with creditors. Debt settlement can be a viable alternative to bankruptcy for those who are unable to pay off their debts in full but want to avoid the long-term consequences of bankruptcy.

Each of these alternatives has its own pros and cons, and it’s important for individuals considering them to carefully research and explore their options. Consulting with a financial advisor or seeking free advice from nonprofit organizations can also be helpful in determining the best course of action for one’s specific financial situation.
