The email replies from this place are THE MOST UNHELPFUL I have ever received from anyone. My grandfather moved to Candada from England in 1976 and has never left. He’s been paying taxes for 48 years and is trying to get a new health card. He needs this card and the only reply he gets is “your identification is unacceptable” . no reason. No way to help whatsoever. The man is going on 80 and has a lot of doctors appointments and ailments and NEEDS this health card. We need help here. If there is anyone at this office that can help, please reach out to me. This is a very time sensitive matter.

7 months for PR card renewal.. no information or updates . I had to investigate myself where they had my file, and once I find out and push for my pr card to be processed, they just started working on it on September 1 . I submitted my application on March 17 2023 .. this office has the worst times and reviews I have ever seen… this is an important document, and they simply don’t care .

This is the 4th time they have sent back my CITIZENSHIP APPLICATION for no reason using the slowest mail it takes 3 month for it to return its almost a year now since i started this whole application process. I have attached the payment receipt not sure why the keep attaching Your payment is either missing or insufficient. When it’s clearly there and when that’s not the problem they are sure to find something else that’s literally there they are lucky that the location is not in Toronto.

It is very frustrating that my application for citizenship is still up in the air when I submitted it 2022. The last update that I got was early 2023 and nothing followed after.

Few of my close friends whom I share the house with just applied 3 months ago, (later than mine) were just done with oath taking yesterday. This is ironic and unfair.

Something needs to be done here.

I thought for a second that this is slower than my home country’s processing time. I have never waited this long and my eyes are all dried up waiting for updates from IRCC. And here we are, still waiting …

For now my verdict – CPC Sydney worst case processing centre so far. I empathize most people who commented here.

Please I know you guys are busy but if you cannot handle large volume please transfer some of our files to other locations. EE application with no updates at all for months, seems like for whatever reasons you guys decided to leave a file sitting there and not touching it again. Please process files that are way over the average processing time first.

According to the 2021 Canadian census, immigrants in Canada number 8.3 million persons and make up approximately 23 percent of Canada's total population. This represents the eighth-largest immigrant population in the world, while the proportion represents one of the highest ratios for industrialized Western countries.Following Canada's confederation in 1867, immigration played an integral role in helping develop vast tracts of land. During this era, the Canadian Government would sponsor information campaigns and recruiters to encourage settlement in rural areas; however, this would primarily be only towards those of European and religious Christian backgrounds, while others—particularly Hindus, Buddhist, Shinto, Sikh, Muslim, and Jewish immigrants—as well as the poor, ill, and disabled, would be less than welcome. Following 1947, in the post-World War II period, Canadian domestic immigration law and policy went through significant changes, most notably with the Immigration Act, 1976, and the current Immigration and Refugee Protection Act (IRPA) from 2002.The main drivers of population growth are immigration, driven mainly by economic policy and also family reunification. A record number of 405,000 immigrants were admitted to Canada in 2021, with plans to increase the annual intake of immigrants to 500,000 per year. New immigrants settle mostly in major urban areas in the country, such as Toronto, Montreal and Vancouver. Canada also accepts large numbers of refugees, accounting for over 10 percent of annual global refugee resettlements; it resettled more than 28,000 in 2018 and has spent $769 million in 2023 alone for free housing and meals.

Immigration lawyers play a crucial role in assisting individuals through the complex immigration processes. However, if you are looking for alternatives to immigration lawyers in Cape Breton – Sydney, there are several options available. Here are the top three alternatives:

  • Immigration Consultants: Immigration consultants specialize in providing advice and assistance with immigration matters. They are licensed professionals who are knowledgeable about immigration policies and procedures. Immigration consultants can help with visa applications, work permits, study permits, family sponsorship, and other immigration-related issues. Hiring an immigration consultant can be a cost-effective alternative to immigration lawyers, especially for individuals with straightforward immigration cases.
  • Settlement Agencies: Settlement agencies are non-profit organizations that provide support and guidance to newcomers to Canada. These agencies offer a wide range of services, including immigration advice, settlement assistance, language training, and employment support. Settlement agencies often have staff members who are knowledgeable about immigration laws and can help navigate the immigration system. While settlement agencies may not provide the same level of legal expertise as immigration lawyers, they can be a valuable resource for newcomers who need assistance with immigration-related matters.
  • Online Resources: The internet offers a wealth of information and resources for individuals navigating the immigration process. Government websites, such as the Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) website, provide comprehensive information on different immigration programs, eligibility criteria, and application processes. Online forums and communities also exist where individuals can ask questions, seek advice, and share experiences with others who have gone through the immigration process. While online resources may not provide personalized legal advice, they can be a valuable tool for individuals who want to educate themselves about the immigration process.
