I stopped today 10/4 to return a purchase I made from another store on 10/3 with the receipt. After she was already rude when approaching me and answering her phone. She then tells me the receipt won’t scan so I have to return it at the store I purchased from. I honestly dont see that any where on this receipt. I witnessed cashier by the name of Jaime be extremely rude and accusatory to an elderly customer. She accused the lady of attempting to steal a full buggy items. The customer said she was preparing to check out. Thing is, the customer was at the inside register, nowhere near the exit. The lines for both registers were long, no way to get out of the store, if she wanted to. After some back and forth the customer told the cashier she could speak to her that way and asked for a manager. Jaime, cashier, bypassed the customer’s request and called the next customer forward. Just witnessing this made me feel uncomfortable and harassed. HOPE IT STAYS THIS WAY! If you aren’t accustomed to hood style shopping, don’t go. Often boxes are being unpacked at 5pm, 1 register open, cashier on the phone 🙄. Waited until 8:45am before someone finally arrived to open the srore. A fellow cudtomer/gentleman who wasalso standing outside explained that this was normal for this store.
If you do decide to shop here upon store opening supposed to be 8am), keep and extra hour available because chances are they wont open on time.
The air conditioning doesn’t work properly at this location, and has been an ongoing problem for some time. It is warm and uncomfortable inside. Not a good climate for the food items they sell. Very limited stock on some shelves. No one to assist customers most of the time. Usually only one cashier, with long lines. I will choose a different location, from now on.
This place is horrible. I went in the store to pick up a few items there was a woman on the I’ll just stealing everything on the aisle. When I walked in the cashier I was down and out where she could not see the register texting on her phone. There were boxes everywhere I could not get to the items that I wanted then I have to wait 5 minutes for somebody to come out of the office just to ring me up. I went there out of convenience but I would rather travel a extra 10 to 15 miles just to have better service. I only gave them a star just to leave this review but if I could have left a review without leaving a star they would have had a negative 5 stars.
I love our neighborhood Dollar General. Great prices, good staff and right around the corner. That little store stays busy all day. Which brings me to why I rated it one star off. There is no way that this location is not making good money each month but the owner doesn’t have the money to fix the a/c and heat? The a/c and heating in that store has been broken for over a year and the owners have done nothing to fix it -other than prop a shop fan at the end of the aisle that aligns with the register. If you have a good bit of shopping to do it’s hard to shop and enjoy yourself without looking like you’ve been to the gym by the time you’re through. And I’m not the only customer with the same complaint – we don’t really talk about our discomfort as much as we do about “how could somebody expect people to have to work in a literal sweat shop environment”. No one likes to see hard working people mistreated -it really makes the owner look like a jerk. It’s a shame that the national headquarters does not have some annual review of their franchised stores that requires owners to keep both shopping/working conditions comfortable.
Literal broken glass on one Ile. Couldn’t get to a quarter of the store because of merchandise in the Iles. They need to have more than two people on the clock so someone can actually get something done. (Not hating the staff they were helpful and understanding)
