What People Are Saying: 5 Customer Reviews

  1. A good way to gauge a restaurant’s prowess is visiting outside the prime hours, in Cafe Benelux’s case they did well. Our waiter was Natalee and she did well and was very nice. Our food was fine however I could tell my sliders was not as fresh and the soup fits more with the brunch menu. Theirs drinks were great (someone has a heavy hand). Overall I was satisfied given the time of day and restaurant availability was great. Just not worth the almost $100 bill after the tip anyway happy dining!

  2. Great service by Hailey. Awesome, unique, beer selection. Was a little confused why the calamari appetizer were so few calamari and mostly fries. Anticipated the Turkey Pesto sandwich to be hot; the bun was toasted but the sandwich contents were cold. The Cuban was pretty good. The Bacon Havarti Chicken sandwich looked really good, but someone wouldn’t share. 😉 Really loved the beer selection though and the fact the Cafe Benelux does serve beer Flights. We’d come back for that alone. And the great service.

  3. Went for breakfast, had the Chicken & Waffles (really good, but I’m glad the waiter recommended the sauce on the side, it’s very spicy), and the Beignets, which were not great … Too dense & chewy. But, overall we loved our experience, & had excellent service. We went back in the afternoon for a beer & they had excellent selection of great beers, both bottled & on tap, including local & Belgium beers. The bartender was friendly despite being very busy

  4. Incredible place with lots of energy, great location, super friendly staff and fantastic menu with quality food.

Restaurant has both indoor and outdoor seating options – would recommend reservations for outdoor seating. We were a group of 12 and were seated immediately when we walked in (got lucky!)

Like the drink menu, but felt it’s a bit diluted. Food selection is great and has options for vegetarian and vegan.

Can’t go wrong any day of the week, energizer and fun place!

  5. Rented one of the outside domes during what turned out to be a blizzardy night and had a great time. Our waiter was funny and attentive, and the food and drinks were delicious. The experience was a bit pricey, and the domes were a bit wet and cool, but overall, it was a great experience! The domes provided a beautiful space to connect with friends, and the restaurant is spacious and inviting. Great atmosphere and location within walking distance to other bars and restaurants, granted it’s not during a blizzard!

Warm and inviting atmosphere and decor. Lots of seating for all preferences. Beer, wine, and cocktail list is good. Overall good food selection on the menu with good authentic German choices. Ruladen was perfectly cooked and had a wonderful blend of flavors. The oxtail soup was great. The salad is cut quite large, which may not appeal to picky eaters. Service was prompt and friendly, and they had a nice and simple dessert menu.

An absolutely amazing piece of Milwaukee’s German heritage. The building itself is a spectacular landmark, and the food and service are outstanding. Our waiter, Miles, was a delight! So helpful and friendly. Every item we ordered was perfectly prepared and so flavorful. We will definitely be returning here again on our next trip to Wisconsin!

One of the best meals I’ve ever had. We had a 6pm dinner reservation for a group of 8. Including 2 toddlers. I ordered a cup of ox soup, had a heferweiss beer, and shared a tour of Germany with others in my party. All solid choices. If it’s your first time here and you have a big enough dinner party, I’d recommend the tour of Germany. Plenty of good meats and sides for 3 people or more. The waitress was very friendly and helpful. She did a great job accommodating all our orders and requests.

This is a historic building, very antique and smells ancient. Very positive vibe in restaurant. I ordered food and on wait time they served with house pretzel bread with butter which was amazing. Veggie spaetzle is so delicious tho am full I over ate it 😂😂💗💗 the creamy texture, veggies, the caramelised onions and the spaetzle everything tasted so perfect. Spicy chicken sandwich was scrumptious and the fries were fresh and could eat all of them. Must try German restaurant in town 😍❤️🔥🔥🔥

Such a great spot! Valet & all of the staff were extremely accommodating and kind. Food was delicious! The pretzels, latkes, soup and apple dessert were a few of our favorites. My parents have been coming here for years whenever we are in town- never disappoints

We sat outside under an umbrella and enjoyed a wonderful lunch. The service was great. Sitting outside was peaceful and breathtaking. It was reminiscent of sitting at an outdoor restaurant in Paris. The menu is not extensive by any means but the selections are all mouthwatering. My burger was succulent and I topped it off with a glass of Rose. Also YOU MUST try the desserts. Chocolate Raspberry domes, fruit tarts and macaroons are just a few of the tasty delights they serve.

If you want a good French meal and you’re in the Milwaukee area this is the place for you. If you’re on your first or second date and you’re trying to seal the deal 😉 than take you’re girl to this place. I speak with confidence that you’ll get some after you eat here. Staff was fast and on it bringing out appetizers and the main course. Water always full. My wine glass was swiftly replaced with a new one. No complaints here only a really good experience

Treat yo self here please! The food and experience are definitely worth paying a bit more for. Pro tip for dinner, the dessert case does start to empty as you get into the evening so consider requesting a dessert early so you don’t miss out. Highly recommend the pheasant, that creamy cheesey sauce is unreal. The French onion soup was such a warm, rich, savory hug of a dish that just makes you smile. The savory crepes were lovely and the desserts are always worth it. Making reservations are easy and highly recommended, there’s a nice dining space in the loft and on the main level. The entry has a slight ramp and no steps which is accessible friendly if you can handle a few tight turns.

We had an amazing time together at Le Reve! We sat outside and had the most patient, knowledgeable, and fun waitress! The food and drinks were absolutely delicious and what great presentation they had! Those desserts…after the difficult decision of which one to pick because they all looked so delicious, I enjoyed a caramel chocolate dessert!

The pastries/dessert are fresh on a whole higher level of freshness! We sat at the bar and I am happy we did that. You can have breakfast at the bar, or just pastry and coffee, and see all the behind-the-scenes action too, so that was really fun! Coffee is impeccable. Im sure if I had an espresso it would be even better! The folks at the bar are real gentlemen and very mannered.
