It is worth a visit.By Stephen Black (6 months ago)Hello, a few days ago I was able to adopt a cat named Pepper ( whomst name we changed to Sova 🙂 ) and I gotta say I absolutely love this kitty with all my heart. I can tell he was well taken care of because, despite his large coat, there wasn’t much matting! He’s a relatively healthy weight and overall very sociable. When I was searching for places to adopt kitties I visited multiple and these definitely had the best conditions for the cats.By Melody ! (8 months ago)Julianna & Amy, who process the surrender intakes, are absolutely THE BEST! Both are knowledgeable and compassionate humans who want your babies to be happy & healthy. We found ourselves in a spot where we had to surrender several cats, and they proved to be caring and patient. (Both with us and the kitties. He’s so smart, everything I teach him he picks up within days.This SPCA appeared immaculately clean, staff was super friendly and patient, all the animals there appeared happy and healthy. We were able to surrender the cats that were forced on us by the community because I was kind enough to take in one cat in the heat. It had basically turned into like Two litters of cats later.. I was nervous at first but once I reached their facility I could tell right away that the people working there really do care about the animals they are treating. On top of great customer service from fellow animal lovers the prices on anything I’ve gotten done there has been fair and cheaper than most other places I researched prior. Heaven can wait is a charity that I’ve supported before with my squadron. They are so warm hearted and thankful for every donation given to them, no matter how small. Lady handed me back my cat that just got neutered without saying anything to me and turned around to talk instead. After I left, my cat was the most distressed I’ve ever seen/heard him. They don’t answer the phone, voicemails, give you antibiotics or pain killers, or even a cone after surgery. The vet I went to for help told me their notorious for this. We just adopted 2 kittens from TAF. The kittens had been in foster care since they were 3 days old. We knew we were approved and just had to wait until they were old enough. The foster moms were so great at keeping us updated and sharing pictures. When we picked them up from their surgery the staff was very kind and they explained everything we needed to know. I highly recommend adopting over buying a pet. Not only are you saving the lives of the animal you bring into your family, you make space for another animal to be saved.
This location of the animal foundation is horrible. I had all intentions of adopting, my daughter and I showed up not knowing how this location was operating. I ask the front desk recipients if they do a meet and greet with your own dog and she was so rude in explaining things to me and was quickly giving me papers and didn’t want to help me. It was my first time adopting and we had been over to the Henderson location and everyone there was awesome and helpful, so I expected the same.
I didn’t even finish my search at the location because she was so rude that I was completely disappointed and left.
Now I know why that facility is so over crowded, there staff and the process was way to extensive.
We left and went back to the Henderson location, and was able to do a meet and greet with our dog and we left in a hour time with our new family member (Sharpie 6 months old) we are so Happy with our experience at the Henderson location.
I will not recommend or refer anyone to this location.
They need a better system!! And helpful, friendly staff!!
Do not surrender your pets here. This place is a HIGH KILL shelter that fired its last COO because he gave them a report on their shelter and he stated that they needed to do better. Attached is a picture of people protesting the Animal Foundation’s bullying of pet partners and lack of leadership.
We adopted our baby, Moose from here back in December. He is our world. The adoption process took a very long time, but for a good reason. There was many people there to adopt other pets. Thank you !
I really enjoyed my time at the shelter working with the cats representing Boys Town. The volunteer coordinator, staff & Michael the volunteer were great! I will come back to volunteer. Thank everyone for all the services they provide for the animals. Blessings to All.
