  1. We adopted a sweet boy in Feb and the adoption process and the people were top notch! I went to this shelter because these dogs need a second chance. The SPCA has the money and unlimited time to find their animals forever homes. These people are working with less resources and the animals are well cared for and deserve a chance for their forever homes. Our puppy Jet is spoiled, happy and healthy now. 🐾

  3. We adopted our little poodle from the shelter right before COVID hit. She was a stray found wandering the back roads… She is pure sweetness and we couldn’t be more grateful to the kind souls that helped in the process!

  4. I adopted my beautiful cat here , it came with a box , some toys and a blanket , they even told me what her favorite toy was.
    Very amazing place doing good things for animals that need it . Great people .

    Great service. My pet was stolen but she was micro chipped. Cops found her in an abandoned van they were towing. I was notified n got my pet back. Fees of $278.00 were assessed but they were waved as a 1 time courtesy due to my situation

    We adopted the sweetest dog from here, it was so simple and an all around fun experience. The staff does a great job and clearly cares deeply for the animals. Good luck finding your forever companion!

    This is a very clean and nice facility. The staff works hard to do their very best for the animals in their care and the people that come through their door. Over several weeks, Raine and the staff helped us screen the “lost dogs” at the shelter before they came up for adoption so we could find the perfect dog…which we did. We could not be more crazy about out little Toy Poodle mix, she is a wonderful dog and just perfect us. Thank You Monterey County (Hitchcock Road) Animal Services!!!

    Super helpful when our Bengal cat went missing Fri Aug 26. Lots of very useful advice and support. Great people. Thankfully we have found her. She is safe and well. Got herself locked in an empty rental.
