Extremely well stocked and organized, esp. for how small it is. They almost always have what I need and are a fraction of the footprint of Home Depot with a hundred times better service. Yes some things are marked up relative to Home Depot for sure, others are the same price. The time it saves you finding things though is worth it to me. Cute selection of small indoor plant pots and there’s a garden center location next door as well with even more pots and plants. Always someone around to help you, fast checkout, and easy returns. There is always an employee nearby that can help you find anything. They also make sure you find it instead of pointing or telling you the aisle number. I hear them talking people through their projects all the time to make sure they are getting the right thing. Staff very helpful in helping me find the items that I needed. Store is well organized and easy to navigate.
The only thing that rubbed me the wrong way was that the cashier didn’t tell me one item wasn’t returnable until after I completed the payment and was given the receipt. I overbought Christmas light clips for a client project. So now I’m stuck with 100 of these clips and they don’t age well.
Laurel Ace has been serving this neighborhood for over 100 years, and with the recent renovations to their upstairs and nursery space, they have more selection than ever. They have a friendly, helpful staff that cares about their customers.
In comparison to many big box stores, the employees really know their products and will spend time helping find the right product or solution for their customers. For people who already know exactly what they want, they also offer the ability to buy online and pick up your order at the store.
Like many other brick and mortar retail locations, they’ve had some staffing shortages and supply shortages, but even when the recent heavy rain brought a wave of customers looking for leak remediation, they kept a positive attitude and did their absolute best to find alternative solutions to help their customers weather the storms. I really appreciate Ace’s model of local ownership, and especially this long-standing neighborhood location!
Small space but has everything you might need! The parking is a bit rough due to sharing it with the bank next door but other than that a great place. Staff are super helpful and attentive.
Nice hardware store. Nice staff. If you can’t find what you need, it’s probably upstairs. I went there 3 times before I even knew there was another whole floor of hardware store.
Just stopped by our local ACE Hardware and purchased a grill so we can start BBQing at home! The store was busy this AM — all o’ the employees were helping each customer as best as they could!!
Christina assisted us w/ our purchase & provided exceptional customer service! Christina gave us “door to door” service (from the checkout counter to the grill in the car :)). Super friendly, super fast, super helpful… just super!!
This ACE in Laurel has always been a great place to shop. But today’s customer service inspired me to leave this review!
