As a single mother struggling to make it by, i Paid $5750.00, in the matter of 2 months over a custody battle. With that I received a single response to an affidavit and 1 court appearance that was adjourned. The rest of charges were told to be from emails, calls and voice-mails. I never got any further then when we started, and I am now forced to give in and lose parenting/sibling time for myself and my daughter due to further charges we cannot afford. I believe the charges were unfair and incorrect. The invoice did not lay out quantity of “calls, emails and voice-mails” and the total cost and time for each.

We used Hamilton Cahoon for the sale of our house in Alberta and the service was outstanding. Our sale transaction was quite unique, as we had already moved across the country before the sale of the house was actually completed. Through multiple phone calls, text messages, emails and video calls, Tom was exceptional when an offer was finally accepted. With a quick possession date, timelines crunched and several time zones difference, Tom was available outside of normal working hours and always ensured all our needs were properly met. Additionally, Tom assisted us in the purchase of our new house outside of Alberta, liaising with our lawyer in another province to ensure all the details of the purchase were clear and understood by us prior to the purchase. I also had multiple phone calls and emails from Ashley (Tom’s Legal Assistant) and her professionalism was exemplary throughout the entire process. I highly recommend Hamilton Cahoon for anyone considering buying or selling a house in Alberta.

Tom Hamilton was my lawyer for two claims, and he exceeded my expectations. He was very professional, but still friendly and easy going. He was also very knowledgeable and took the time to thoroughly explain the legal process and the different options I had.

His Legal Assistant was also always very friendly, and promptly replied to emails. Beautiful, clean and welcoming office.

I found him to be extremely professional and thorough. He’s also very personable and I felt he worked hard for me. I was very happy with the fair settlement I received! In a nutshell, I would highly recommend Tom Hamilton.

I used Tom Hamilton to help settle an accident insurance claim. He relieved me of the stress of dealing with the insurance company, made me feel at ease and explained everything so I knew what to expect during the process. Although I hope to never require a personal injury lawyer again, I would use him again and recommend anyone else to do the same.

Top Immigration Lawyer Alternatives in Medicine Hat

According to the 2021 Canadian census, immigrants in Canada number 8.3 million persons and make up approximately 23 percent of Canada's total population. This represents the eighth-largest immigrant population in the world, while the proportion represents one of the highest ratios for industrialized Western countries.Following Canada's confederation in 1867, immigration played an integral role in helping develop vast tracts of land. During this era, the Canadian Government would sponsor information campaigns and recruiters to encourage settlement in rural areas; however, this would primarily be only towards those of European and religious Christian backgrounds, while others—particularly Hindus, Buddhist, Shinto, Sikh, Muslim, and Jewish immigrants—as well as the poor, ill, and disabled, would be less than welcome. Following 1947, in the post-World War II period, Canadian domestic immigration law and policy went through significant changes, most notably with the Immigration Act, 1976, and the current Immigration and Refugee Protection Act (IRPA) from 2002.The main drivers of population growth are immigration, driven mainly by economic policy and also family reunification. A record number of 405,000 immigrants were admitted to Canada in 2021, with plans to increase the annual intake of immigrants to 500,000 per year. New immigrants settle mostly in major urban areas in the country, such as Toronto, Montreal and Vancouver. Canada also accepts large numbers of refugees, accounting for over 10 percent of annual global refugee resettlements; it resettled more than 28,000 in 2018 and has spent $769 million in 2023 alone for free housing and meals.

The Biggest Immigration Lawyer in Canada

When it comes to immigration matters, it’s crucial to have a knowledgeable and experienced lawyer by your side. In Medicine Hat, there are several top immigration lawyers who can provide you with the legal assistance you need. However, if you’re looking for alternatives, there are also a few other reliable options to consider. Here are three top immigration lawyer alternatives that are popular in Medicine Hat:

  • Immigration Consultants: Immigration consultants are professionals who specialize in providing advice and assistance on immigration matters. They are not lawyers but are regulated by the Immigration Consultants of Canada Regulatory Council (ICCRC). Immigration consultants can help you with various immigration processes, such as visa applications, work permits, study permits, and more. They can provide guidance and support throughout the process and may be a cost-effective alternative to hiring a lawyer.
  • Legal Aid Services: If you have limited financial resources, you may be eligible for legal aid services. Legal aid organizations provide free or low-cost legal assistance to individuals who cannot afford private lawyers. While they may not specialize exclusively in immigration law, they can still provide guidance and support for immigration matters. Legal aid services can be a viable option if you meet the eligibility criteria and need assistance with your immigration case.
  • Non-Profit Organizations: There are non-profit organizations in Medicine Hat that offer immigration services to individuals and families. These organizations often have experienced staff or volunteers who can provide guidance on immigration matters. They may offer workshops, consultation services, and assistance with documentation. Non-profit organizations are committed to serving the community and can be a helpful resource for individuals seeking immigration support.

When considering these alternatives, it’s important to research and verify the credibility and reputation of the individual immigration consultant, legal aid service, or non-profit organization. You should also assess your specific immigration needs and determine which option aligns with your requirements and budget. Although these alternatives can be beneficial, it’s always recommended to consult with a qualified immigration lawyer if you have complex immigration issues or require representation in legal proceedings.
