Started out with high hopes. We were happy to start. After requesting more communication.(Knowing this would come with a cost) and pointing out where we would like to see some improvement before going to court. We were met with more silence and a very long and very rude email. Going to court is already hard enough as is. Everyone’s reason for finding a lawyer and going to court is different but it’s generally for something you care alot about. We did not feel as though they cared about us at all. Still trying to get in contact to get our retainer back. I would not recommend going with them. We should have seen it coming from the previous bad reviews. As well as the fact that our lawyer was late for our consultation. Sending incorrectly formatted documents, had to call multiple times to pay for the retainer in the first place that should have been our first sign. Save your dollars and go elsewhere.

I’d leave zero if I could. I called for a full month about getting representation. Was answered the first time and was told I’d get a call back. Nothing after a week. Called again and again. Voicemail and email. Got a response a few days before my court date with some excuse that someone was sick and the person filling in was suppose to contact me. I dunno. I won’t name names, but I called Numerous times and emailed. It’s a good thing I was able to defend myself and come out alright. Pretty much a joke

Very rude and unprofessional. On top of that – impossible to get a hold of (even with time sensitive matters). Really surprised this kind of behaviour comes from a law firm that claims to represent the best interest of their clients. Seems all of the other negative reviews were correct..

They’re quick to answer when they take their fees. After that, they didn’t return calls or emails. That’s just my experience. There are other lawyers out there

I have been working in the law industry for over 12 years and this is by far, the worst law firm I have ever dealt with. During the entire Sale transaction I never recieved one phone call, including before and after the closing. All correspondence was via email and even then, their responses were sometimes days later and let me assure you, I was not one of those clients that bombarded them with phone calls and emails. The only time I got a phone call was a couple of months later to let me know their was an outstanding invoice for a $34 courier when I specifically asked (repeatedly) to have the documents sent by mail. If you’re ok with zero compassion, poor correspondence and being passed from person to person (4 in all) then this is the law firm for you!!!! Save your money and find a lawyer that’s actually willing to talk to you. I would name names but I think they know exactly who they are.

Top Bankruptcy Lawyer Alternatives in Charlottetown

The Biggest Bankruptcy Lawyer in Canada

When it comes to bankruptcy, it is important to have a knowledgeable lawyer who can guide you through the process and protect your rights. In Charlottetown, there are several alternatives to choose from. Here are the top three bankruptcy lawyer alternatives that are very popular in Charlottetown:

  • Credit Counselling Services of Atlantic Canada: This non-profit organization offers free or low-cost credit counselling and debt management services to individuals and families facing financial difficulties. They provide education on budgeting, money management, and debt solutions. Their certified credit counsellors can help you develop a personalized plan to address your debts and avoid bankruptcy if possible.
  • Debt Consolidation Companies: Debt consolidation companies help individuals consolidate their debts into a single loan or payment plan. They negotiate with creditors to reduce interest rates and create a manageable repayment plan. Debt consolidation can be a good alternative to bankruptcy as it allows you to pay off your debts without resorting to legal action. However, it is important to carefully research and choose a reputable debt consolidation company.
  • Consumer Proposal Administrators: Consumer proposals are a legally binding agreement between debtors and creditors, overseen by licensed insolvency trustees or consumer proposal administrators. They help individuals negotiate a settlement with their unsecured creditors, allowing them to repay a portion of their debts over an extended period of time. Consumer proposals are a popular bankruptcy alternative as they provide debt relief while avoiding the stigma and consequences of filing for bankruptcy.

It’s important to note that while these alternatives may help you avoid bankruptcy, they may not be suitable for everyone. Consulting with a bankruptcy lawyer or licensed insolvency trustee can provide you with professional advice tailored to your specific situation. They can help you understand the advantages and disadvantages of each alternative and determine the best course of action for your financial future.
