I had to deal with a lawyer in Quebec 2 years ago and truly she made me hate the job. Thankfully, Amanda and her team were able to change my feelings in how they dealt with us. We needed to notarized a document and she was excellent in providing a quick service and offer more than we asked for. When you are dealing with 2 businesses , time is crucial and Amanda understood our need very well. I would highly recommend her and I will go again to do more work with her. Thank you Amanda

We’ve went with Amanda for multiple purchase and sales. She has always been professional and a pleasure to work with. I never have to worry if something is going to be missed or wrong when working with her. Her mother handled our file before as well. You can tell she’s done these before! Knowledgeable and trustworthy from start to finish! Whenever I emailed them with questions and concerns, I received a response very quickly. She goes out of her way to get things done as quick as possible!

Thanks Amanda and associates; I’ll be back again!

Where do I even begin? We hired Amanda to help close our new home in Sudbury, which also included working with our lawyers in Nova Scotia to ensure our house sale there went smoothly, and money reached the proper hands. Everything was great at first and we were happy. However, Amanda missed important information written in the first line of the email from our lawyer which said that in NS, lawyers must notarize the paperwork..Amanda did not notarize the paperwork, which meant we needed to go back into her office to re-sign some papers, and our sale in Halifax closed a day late. Fine, mistakes happen and I can accept that. However, Amanda took absolutely zero accountability and did not even look me in the eye or apologize. Instead I was told, and I quote, “this is why I hate doing out of province sales”. What a thing to say! She had never once mentioned this was an issue for her. Furthermore, Amanda charged us for both couriers to send the paperwork to NS, despite the fact that the second courier was needed to correct an error she made. Very disappointing, however everything did work out in the end, and she clearly has great reviews for a reason. Maybe we caught her on an “off” week, but I feel honest reviews are important, especially for anyone else moving to Sudbury and buying a home.

Edit to add that upon seeing this review, Amanda did reach out and refund the courier fees. Thank you.

Having now dealt with both Amanda and Marla, and having had 26 years of working for a lawyer in the past, I can honestly say I know what organization and professionalism look like, and both ladies and their staff have that. Thank you for all of your assistance in closing two real estate deals and preparing Wills for my elderly parents.

Weaver simmons is the best Law firm in Sudbury. They give quick and good service. We can get appointments easily. The one thing I like so much is they don’t charge anything just to talk with us. When I first went there with lots of doubt about work permit for my spouse (common law partner) Punit Mehta guided me and he helped me a lot to get it approved. I will highly recommend Weaver Simmons specially Punit Mehta. He is the best.

Indigenous intellectual property is a term used in national and international forums to describe intellectual property that is "collectively owned" by various Indigenous peoples, and by extension, their legal rights to protect specific such property. This property includes cultural knowledge of their groups and many aspects of their cultural heritage and knowledge, including that held in oral history. In Australia, the term Indigenous cultural and intellectual property, abbreviated as ICIP, is commonly used.
There have been various efforts made since the late 20th century towards providing some kind of legal protection for indigenous intellectual property in colonized countries, including a number of declarations made by various conventions of Indigenous peoples. The World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) was created in 1970 to promote and protect intellectual property across the world by cooperating with countries as well as international organizations. The UN's Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples (UNDRIP), signed by 144 countries in 2007, includes several clauses relating specifically to the protection of intellectual property of Indigenous peoples.
Disputes around indigenous property include several cases involving the Māori people of New Zealand.
