  Suzanne and the team at Scotia Law were not only thorough and professional, but also personable. This was our first time buying a house and we left the office feeling we understood what was going on with our purchase and they even corrected some details missed by the realtor and mortgage broker.   Had an appointment with Mr. Scott today. It didn’t start very well as I was sent a meeting cancellation notice before our meeting time. This was an error, but then by the time he called me it was a few minutes past the start of the appointment, and I wasn’t set up for a call I had been told wasn’t happening — more wasted time. During the call I seriously had the impression that my call wasn’t the full focus of his attention.

  This wasn’t a free consultation, this half-hour (scheduled) phone call cost me nearly $300. Also one of his interns was sitting in on the call and I hadn’t been told ahead of time. I understand that you have to train interns, but it’s a family law case where personal details are discussed. I said it was fine mostly because I was scrambling to take my webcam from one computer to the other. Maybe Mr. Scott can specify to his intern that he was demonstrating how NOT to consult with a potential client.

  This was me getting a second opinion, as I had spoken with a lawyer a few months ago. I know who I won’t be calling again.
