- Reviews:Solstice Senior Living in Bakersfield CA has the most amazing staff!! It is a warm friendly “home” for your loved one. I had my mom and my “other mother” there and I could not have been more satisfied and no I dont work for Solstice or related to anyone there…there are that good! From theme days all the time to AMAZING things they have done during COVID to try and keep their residents spirits up. Christopher and his staff are there best in the business and I highly recommend them for a place to have your loved one. The golden years can be scary for family, wanting them to be cared for, happy and safe…. I even sent fresh flowers to them as thanks. I’ve been in several facilities both independent and assisted living. Carriage House is far and away the best of them all. Friendly staff, great food. I can’t imagine a better place to live.By Jim Russell (6 years ago)Nice, well maintained retirement community.By Linda Godsey (2 months ago)I have not been here yet to look around but some of the Yelp reviews were terrible and said that they charge extra for everything and that it cost one family hundreds of dollars extra a month for those items for their loved ones. And that it was not as caring as claimed in assisted living and their loved ones got worse in a few weeks. I have heard this about some AL homes also about patients getting worse and even dying or having to pay too much and not getting all the benefits. So I hope the problems get improved. Having only one nurse on staff just 8 hours doesnt sound good in an AL place.By Esther M (5 years ago)The staff and management at Solstice are very dedicated to their residents, families as they offer a variety of services, abundant of activities and apartments to choose from. - Reviews:Rosewood’s impeccable reputation is well earned and deserved. From the application process through move in, and assistance with my Dad’s transition from Assisted Living into Memory Care, our family is so appreciative of the Rosewood experience. We naively thought our 93 year old Dad would be able to “bounce back” from recent surgery. The Rehab staff at Rosewood got him back on his feet, but age caught up with him in Assisted Living. The team gracefully and patiently guided us to Memory Care and eventually to hospice services. I cannot express our gratitude for the blessings of the Rosewood community and services.By Mary Warren (3 weeks ago)Families should know that if their loved one is in the memory care unit and their condition starts to worsen that Rosewood may not be able to accommodate them. My loved one had a relatively minor illness that was diagnosed after an emergency ride to the hospital. She spent longer than necessary in the hospital due to this which only made everything about her condition worse. It was in my loved ones best interest to quickly move her from this facility. The memory care unit is small and only handles higher functioning stages of memory care. While I absolutely loved some of the staff, I can only give the memory care unit two stars for not being up front about their ability to accommodate less than perfect dementia patients and patients in decline. Families should know this when they move their loved one to the memory care unit that it may not be for long and they may have to move them again. I thought it in my loved one’s best interest to move her out of Rosewood and into to another facility. Her improvement was immediate and the care at the new facility was much more supportive and conducive to her happiness. .By Lisa Stroud (5 years ago)I only gave a second star because the Occupational Therapist and Physical Therapist were great with my mother,following hip surgery. DO NOT send your loved one to Rosewood Skilled Nursing!! My mother is not incontinent. When she was admitted for rehab,we told everybody who touched her that she will not pee in the bed,whether on a bed pan or in a diaper. We repeated many times to assist her to the toilet. We received a phone call on the 3rd day that she was there that her belly was distended because she had held her pee so long,so they inserted a Foley catheter!! Not one person had gotten her up to the toilet!! As a result,she acquired a severe bacterial UTI . She was admitted to the hospital where it took several days on antibiotics to clear it up. The hospital staff,along with the family,were appauled that Rosewood had put a diaper on a person who is not incontinent!! Please,DO NOT send your loved one to Rosewood Skilled Nursing Facility!!By Rachel Larsen (4 years ago)Awesome! There are numerous words that could be used to describe the care and attention my in laws have received over the decade that they have resided here. They are currently in a state of transition, as their needs have increased, and each and every staff member has taken extra care to communicate with us and ensure the best care. We have worked with staff in the nursing facility, hair salon, administration and facilities and EVERYONE has done everything they can! Not in the best area of town but the facility is gated and seems safe. The main halls elevators and gathering areas are always clean. This place does not have the typical smell that 98% of facilities tend to have.
My mom just moved in one of the cottages and she speaks highly of the staff she has encountered they have made her feel comfortable which im thankful to them for ALEX,ANGEL,&MELISSA also i have yet to see the main building but my brother and son have and say its very clean the resident’s I’ve seen and talk to are nice and i just really appreciate how pleasant the whole place is thanks for everything Columbus Estates
My great uncle was there for good while and no complaints with staff because my uncle had high praise. Not on the best side of town and although I’ve never seen any on the property, lot of homeless in the area. Only cons is the parking is difficult and not exactly sure why they thought it’d be a good idea to have a steep incline where a wheelchair bound person can easily lose control so that is only reason for minus one star.
Facility looks great and employees are professional as well as helpful
The place is clean, well maintained. Staff & residents seem happy & at ease. It could be the place to live a very comfortable life & squeeze the maximum out of your retirement income.
