What People Are Saying: 5 Customer Reviews

  1. Very well-kept, charming, accommodating 55+ park located in Eugene, OR. With walking trails that loop around the pond and fountain, a clubhouse with kitchen, a pool & hot tub, billards & shuffleboard, and even a medical supply rental “closet”, this park is a wonderful option for anyone over 55 yrs. Park management is responsive and helpful. While visiting to show homes, I was greeted by 3 separate residents passing by, waving ‘hello’. Very friendly and welcoming park.

  2. The managers of this place are very discriminatory! They play God with your future!. You have finances to pay for your home in park. But cannot get thru the managers! This park is in the middle of homeless camps off hwy 99! Thought the park was for the elderly? But it’s for the close minded. Frustrating

  3. I live here. It’s ok park, nothing special. The people that live here are awesome. Have friends I have met that I love, am so blessed to have them in my life.

  4. Staff was fantastic…dinner was meh… Grey steak, almost looked boiled and thrown to the grill for marks. Ribs waaaaay over cooked…burger tasted funny..not a good dinner…drinks were fantastic.

  5. It’s OK but not for a disabled person. Traffic noise is much louder than I expected from Hwy 99.

My grandfather died here. His death would have been prevented if the staff could’ve done some of the simple things he needed like opening a drink. I’m sure the fax machine is likely still broken, since they somehow couldn’t get ahold of his doctor at the time. They lie about checking on patients, they lied about checking his pacemaker, which failed due to a low battery. He was the kindest man, and he deserved better.

Death mentioned….. It took me a year to be able to even write this. My beloved father was fairly well when he moved in to churchill estates memory care and dead within 3 months after moving in. He would not wake up for a few days and doc sent a fax for them to call an ambulance….their main way of communication with doctors is a dinosaur fax!!!!! (They would not call an ambulance for someone who was unable to wake on their own! The doc had to tell them to!) ?? Their fax machine was broken for days if you can believe it!!! They never got the fax and my father just got sicker and weaker. The next day they finally called an ambulance after i called crying and panicking. A month prior, i spoke with the nurse in person, at churchill about sending a pacemaker check over the machine i gave her, to the cardiologists office. We went over the machine; she knew how to work it. She said she would send a pacemaker check to the docs office and i saw she had written it down on a sticky note. Guess what? She didn’t ever do it. The cardiologist’s office never got anything. I trusted her. BIG MISTAKE. My dad’s pacemaker failed from low battery SHORTLY after. We had no idea the battery was dead. Nobody did!!!! He died of cadiac arrest in the hospital. He was very very happy at Merrill Gardens and I would highly suggest them for memory care. My dad was my bff and we all miss him more than words can say. Granted he had other health issues but it should have been his/our choice to replace pacemaker or let him pass….not a nurse who apparently does not care much about patients…likely the nurse is overworked and management is bordering on sociopathic at this place. Food was scary too. Merrill gardens had excellent food and nice caregivers.

It’s not a good job; Every single one is so precedes. If you have an accent they trow out the team and they are big, huge judgemental team, including, managers, nurses, directors, top administrators, receptionists , med tecks , housekeeper ect.its full of hypocrisy. They try to speak to you and you tongue eventhoug ; you are fluently in English. I have associates.

Absolutely horrible place to work. The director is hostile and doesn’t listen when there’s a complaint. One of the residents had an issue with his bowels and there would be feces all over the bathroom, I mean all over. The walls had feces, shower curtain, clothes, everything. It’s a biohazard to the whole facility. Morning shift and swing would refuse to clean it so it was left up to NOC shift to do. When it was brought to the directors attention she didn’t care. After two weeks of starting and not a lot of experience, management scheduled me to work in memory care, when I made it clear that I wasn’t comfortable with that, the manager said “I’ll call you in a bit” then never did and disregarded how I felt. I highly recommend taking your family out of this place and find somewhere else that’s cleaner, caring and respectful.

Pretty hostile environment. When I talked to about issues to my bosses they waved me away. The residents are great. It’s hard work. They pay well. But other than that people are sketchy.. Thanks for the time for me letting me work even though I found out sketchy details about this place. You have no control over your employees because they gossip even about your bigger bosses. And even. Discrimination on a very big event. Quite sexists. Thank you all.

This place seemed nice and everyone seemed helpful. I selected this facility for my mother. She spent less than 4 hours in the guest apartment so I could get furniture in hers. Mother ended up going back to the hospital that night and then to rehab until she went into a skilled care facility, the Waterford Grand. Mother never stepped foot in her apartment. But she signed a 3 month lease. She paid the deposit and the prorated rent for the first month. I paid the next 2 months rent and Sheldon agreed to wave that 3rd month rent. I was assured that the deposit would be refundable if the apartment was left in good condition. I got a bill for rent later, they were keeping the deposit plus they wanted more money. I called the manager James and he appologised and said he would take care of it and get the deposit refunded. Waited and waited, nothing. I called 4 times to talk to him and left messages because “he wasn’t there”. The last time they said that someone would call me back by 5:30 that afternoon. Amazingly no return call. I called back the next day and was told someone was no longer employed there and I would have to call corporate to deal with this. Why couldn’t they have told me this earlier? Now dealing with corporate. How long to get a call back from them? Not impressed with this outfit. The folks at the Waterford Grand were great in contrast.

I do floor coverings for this place I do not live here or know anyone that does. However I can tell you that they don’t take shortcuts and they fix everything right the first time. I see things that no resident ever gets to see as I basically strip the place down to bare floors everytime we do a replacement floor and this place doesn’t ever tell me to just lay the floor like so many others do. They pay what it cost to do it right and I respect that.

They treat their staff terribly. Underpaid over worked. Managers are terrible and don’t listen to residents issues. Move people into independent living that need to be in assisted living just because they’re desperate for numbers then don’t take proper care or responsibility for them. Forcing other residents to constantly care for them.ABSOLUTELY LOVED MY JOB but had to quit because lack of management skills.

Right at Home In-Home Care has been partnering with Sheldon Oaks for over 4 years to provide in-home care due to management’s concern to have their residents be able to age in place. I recommend Sheldon Oaks to people looking for retirement housing options because of the caring staff, friendly residents, great activities and amazing food. At Sheldon Oaks you will feel right at home!

EMF reading is of the scale. This is the worst place for anyone health wise. Especially for those who are susceptible to dementia or memory loss. Research “Electric Magnetic Frequency” exposer to humans.
