What People Are Saying: 5 Customer Reviews

  1. Country Meadows of Wyomissing was the best experience I could have asked for, let me explain. Late March of 2012, my journey of taking care of my grandparents began, my grandparents had reached a part of their life that they no longer could live at home. My grandmother was in need of care that my grandfather could no longer provide on his own, she was in the beginning stages of Alzheimer’s and he was dealing with Parkinson’s. Not really knowing what I was doing, I had heard from friends & neighbors that Country Meadows of Wyomissing was a great retirement community. So, I checked it out and it seemed to meet our needs with different units for different levels of care, while still giving my grandparents the ability to be together. So, we met with a welcoming team at Country Meadows of Wyomissing and they were wonderful, explained everything thoroughly so we would all understand. Two weeks later my grandparents moved in, my grandmother was placed in the Connections Unit (Memory Care), while my grandfather was place right upstairs where he had the ability to come see and spend time with my grandmother day and night. They were able to have meals together and spend the day watching tv or interacting in planned events. Unfortunately, my grandmother’s stay didn’t last long, her Alzheimer’s took a turn for the worst and she needed more intense care. This is where our journey with Country Meadows of Wyomissing began to just feel like family. The employees and staff had won me over. They knew that I was about 27 year old and living 60 miles away and taking care of a lot, and they step right in to help. One of our challenges was finding a way to have my grandparents still see each other. But that wasn’t a problem for Country Meadows, they told me about a car service which would take him every day or every other day to Berks Heim where my grandmother resided. This was huge, this made my grandfather very happy which made me very happy. They welcomed our family with open arms, let us have meals with grandfather, interact in activities and they would even call me with updates. Unfortunately, my grandfather’s Parkinson’s worsened within a year or so, but again Country Meadows step right on up and we just changed his room down to the Connections Unit where he continued to be safe and happy. They even kept taking him to see my grandmother just a little less frequent, due to his condition. It was so nice to have everyone on board and helping me take care of everything from a far. My grandfather was a resident for 3 – 4 years, I don’t think we could have done it without the help from the Country Meadows of Wyomissing team. They showed my family how important our loved ones were and took care of them for us when we couldn’t. They treat residents and their families with respect and genuine care. Thank you to all staff members that helped take such good care of Bernie Roth Sr, he is in heaven now, but I know you all made the years he spent at Country Meadows of Wyomissing the best! I truly appreciate everything that was done for me and my family!

  2. Our father has been a resident in Connections since December 2019. This was a very emotional and difficult time for our family and placing him an equally difficult decision. The staff at Country Meadows were compassionate, caring and professional during this transition . They offered compassion for our father and all of us. He continues to receive excellent care during a most challenging time. I have recommended Country Meadows to several friends who are in need of a place for their loved one. The entire staff that I have encountered have been nothing but professional and caring and have put my father’s health and well-being first. He is thriving in this supportive environment!

  3. We were worried about 2 friends of ours who caught the flu and don’t return our messages, both of whom live in the independent assisted living homes and we were told by the front desk they could not give out that information and without another word, hung up on us. Uncaring and disrespectful is how I feel about Country Meadows. I know it must be a hard job dealing with so many people but disregarding the calls of friends and family means there are more than one that work there who would do the same.

  4. Kathy Cox and Linda Ramich did an amazing job helping and welcoming my Mom to Country Meadows in Wyomissing. They were wonderful to work with, answered my many questions and alivated my concerns having my Mom move from her home into a new community. They have gone above and beyond to make sure my Mom is feeling at home.
Everyone has been welcoming, kind, compassionate, and helpful. They have checked on her, made sure she has felt welcomed and have met her needs better than I could have imagined. The medical personnel are top notch and on top of her medical concerns. Joseph took time to come and hang pictures, set up a shelf I was struggling with and put a cat shelf up for her cats.  As soon as he finished she said, “I’m home”.  Everyone we have met and worked with have been wonderful.
My Mom loves the activities and says everyone is so helpful and kind. There is always someone who is willing to help whether it’s getting a trolly so I can transport her things to her room, or someone to escort her to her meals.
You have an amazing staff at Country Meadows. I am so glad we found the best place for Mom to enjoy the rest of her life.
Thank you for hiring such amazing people to make other people’s lives so great.

  5. I can’t say enough about the positive work environment that Country Meadows provides! It has been such a pleasurable experience being part of family owned company that places such a high priority on their coworkers’ job satisfaction. I came from the restaurant industry where you sometimes just feel like a number, but everyone at Country Meadows from the top down has been so friendly and welcoming that I wish I would’ve started here years ago. Kudos to Leader family for figuring out that the key to providing a great resident experience is to take very good care of their employees.

I have been living in this apartment complex for a few years now and I must say, the new management team is doing an excellent job. They are always available to answer any questions or concerns and are constantly making improvements to the property. I’m excited about the upcoming renovation plans which include updated amenities and a fresh new look. The property manager is amazing and goes above and beyond to ensure that residents are happy and satisfied. Overall, I highly recommend this complex to anyone looking for a comfortable and well-maintained place to call home.

The view is phenomenal from our apartment. The building is under new management which is clearly investing money in renovations and upgrade which are always appreciated. The maintenance team is very responsive. I’ve never waited more the 24 hrs for an issue to be resolved. Brian and Cindy in the leasing office are always willing to help/provide information.

We have been living here for a few months and have had nothing but a good experience so far. The application process was pretty simple, we were able to tour and heard back from them almost immediately. When we reach out to the property manager for assistance with things, such as maintenance needed or just general questions, he has been very responsive and helpful every single time. They’re currently working on updating some parts of the building and from what I’ve heard seen and heard, it’s going to be great. It’s a quiet, nice area. Definitely would recommend.

The property is super beautiful and under renovation. I’m coming from 6 hours away so the rental process isn’t exactly easy but Brian was incredibly helpful and was able to show me around the available units and everything is straightforward. 10/10 would recommend checking this place out if you’re moving to the reading area!

**2023 UPDATE** [[Added photos of stairs that have been stripped for over a month and how my floor looks in the hallway]] The Sherwood building feels unlivable currently. I would give zero stars if I could. I am so thankful to be LEAVING this place. There is poor communication between Larken and the tenants. There is CONSTANT construction between multiple projects and not a single one has finished and it’s been… 6 months!! Currently, the building looks condemned. I feel like I live in an unlivable space. The only way to traverse the floors today is the elevator, as all the stairs have ripped up flooring or are otherwise blocked. There is a ton of lingering debris in the air from the construction — which, I might add, is NOT ventilated at all. In addition to the dust (which is also in my apartment and affecting my health), the halls reek of paint fumes as they’re also trying to paint on top of all the dust, noise, and zero communication as to what is going to be worked on, or when things are going to be finished. It’s started to affect my health. I’ve already gone to see my doctor but my symptoms calmed down over the weekend when there was no construction going on. Anyway, don’t live here. Larken doesn’t care about its tenants, only the money they can bring in. –Old Review Below– I like the apartments. Things are quiet for the most part. Things changed in unpleasant ways when Larken took over.

I live here for a possibly 10 years would not recommend it it is a slum nothing gets fixed the place. It was purchase a year and a half ago by someone now it’s up for sale again because it takes too much to fix all the problems my window leaks in on the inside when it rains still hasn’t been fixed. They just patch it up so I would not recommend this place but it is close to the bus terminal barta. And it’s been a year now since my wind has been leaking and destroys the ceiling the water runs down my window I complain to the city but they do nothing. I would love to put pics on this post so you can see what I put up with for more then a year😂😭
