What People Are Saying: 5 Customer Reviews

  1. Bustling brunch spot, but well worth the wait as there is no reservation. The egg benedicts were excellent, especially the smoked salmon one. Pleasantly, the potato and garlic on the side were very crunchy as well. On top of the food quality, I am a fan of their no tip policy — as they’ve included it in their menu prices . A very strong recommend if you are in the area.

  2. This place is consistently amazing, from the food to the service. I can’t get enough of this place, especially with the waiters being so helpful. Plus the no-tip system is extremely simple and enhances the overall experience. Easily one of the best brunch spots in town! I would recommend the French toast, but the entire menu is delicious. Bring your friends and family here for a great time.

  3. We are from Seattle, but discovered Zazie in 2018 when staying in the neighborhood for the weekend. Since that first experience, we have made time to have brunch here every time we come to San Francisco, regardless of where we are staying.

We recently visited in February 2023, our first visit back since the COVID pandemic started, and we were so pleased to see that the restaurant has survived with consistent staples on their menu (our old favorites) and unique daily specials – plus the addition of the back garden patio is my new favorite place to enjoy brunch!

The rotating selection of miracle pancakes are always a treat, but we were lucky to find the lemon ricotta on the menu at our last visit. It is a must-try, but get there early because they will sell out by the end of the shift!

The variety of creative mimosa flavors also keeps me coming back to someday have tried each one.

The owners and staff are always kind and they create a wonderful dining experience. It’s always great to see a small neighborhood business thriving and engaging with the community.

We love the clear no-tipping business model, and knowing that the menu prices support fair wages and benefits for all staff members.

We look forward to our next visit!

  4. We come here a few times a year, usually try to avoid the weekend brunch busy times as the wait can be 1-2 hours. We have had dinner here as well and the food quality is good but a bit pricey. Breakfast and brunch are more reasonably priced considering all the prices include tips as well.

Today we had a midweek breakfast stop here and everything was very good. The staff are pleasant and service is quick. The pancake was exceptionally tasty!

  5. Wonderful time visiting Zazie, a French Bistro, amazing food and wine. We had the lamb shank and double pork chop, great portion sizes to fill the belly while we enjoyed excellent wine, followed by fantastic dessert. We had our pup with us, so pet friendly was a must, dined outside with a heater above that made it a cozy dinner on a cool Pacific Coast evening.

Amazing food and presentation of each dish. Celery soup was very unique and worth to try new menu 🙂 Mussels were my favorite!! But too quiet for me to celebrate my birthday😋

Beautiful atmosphere, great food. The duck breast on lentils was delicious. The crab salad refreshing and tasty. A bit expensive but worth it. Decent wine selection. Recommended.

Absinthe is a lovely place to have a quiet lunch or romantic dinner. The service and hospitality are excellent; atmosphere is very nice; food and drinks are great. However, it is incredibly expensive—even by SF standards—and not worth the price you pay. They would have a lot more business (and profit) if the prices were not so inflated. I will return—when they have more reasonable prices.

It is a decent French restaurant. The menu is limited, but everything we tried was delicious. The service was great.

My first time dining here and I have to say I loved it. I ordered the truffled burger and fries and my husband got the French toast. Both were delicious. We will be coming back. Thank you Abinthe Brasserie and Bar!

We had the dinner there after the show at SF symphony on 2/13/2022. The food was quite good. The blue cheese salad is awesome. You would love it. The the main dishes are good too. We had the outdoor seating. It’s nice, but would be a little cold and crowded in a cold weather and busy hour if you mind, FYI.

This place was fantastic! The outdoor seating is plentiful. The food was delicious. We happen to go on a Saturday and they served brunch until 3. I highly recommend the warm goat cheese salad, tomato soup, and onion soup. The banana nutella crepe was the perfect end to the meal. FYI, there is only street parking.

Amazing food, amazing service, and amazing atmosphere. The owner and staff really care about your experience and go above and beyond to make sure you have a good time. You cannot go wrong with anything on the menu, but make sure you get the escargot and the bread, and dip the bread in the garlic sauce that comes with the escargot. Everyone needs to taste that. Please give them your business especially during this time with COVID. You will for sure have an amazing time.

Popular spot for brunch and dinner on the weekend. Great outdoor seating, and service is really good. Food was good, but didn’t seem as hot as it should’ve when it arrived at our table. Would come back for another meal.

Great food and service. Everything, from being seated to ordering to getting my food and getting the bill, was relatively fast and timely. But I went on a rainy day, and during non-peak hours. So, be mindful of that when you go. The entire menu looked really good. I went for the salmon on a bed of quinoa, and i really enjoyed it. The space is cute and feels more like a cafe than a quaint European bistro, so I wouldn’t necessarily come here for an intimate date. But the spot has the potential to be a date spot with a little bit more investment in the ambience. I really loved how simple the menu is. It made the food seem more carefully and thoughtfully curated. Will definitely visit again.
