What People Are Saying: 5 Customer Reviews

  1. We found this place while visiting family in RGV.
It has a cozy atmosphere. Even if looks a little bit like the Easter Bunny May have exploded in the dining room (JK). Although your Grandma may like it.
The food was decent and the service was friendly. I had a steak sandwich for lunch and it was well seasoned and pretty tasty. They also had crepes on the menu that also looked delicious.
We will definitely come back and bring my mom with us next time.

  2. I quite loved the food here. It was cooked perfectly for my husband and I. And the ingredients were very fresh. The food wasn’t too expensive either.

I’m real big on lemonade, but only fresh lemonade, no powder or “fake lemonade”. I tried theirs and it tasted very off to me, 100% not real. So, we asked to exchange the drinks. They did not charge us for the lemonade exchange or anything. Only for the drinks we ended up with in the end.

I can’t speak on the environment inside, as it seemed packed, busy, and loud. We opted to eat outdoors as it wasn’t too late and there was a nice breeze. It was a nice place with calming, not overly loud music.

The staff did consistently check on us. They gave us time to look over the menu, as it was our first time there. And checked on us to see if we were ready to order about 3 times. After we received our food, they would check on us every so often to see if we needed anything and we just very friendly the entire time.

  3. 11-18-22 around 8:10pm
Came here with my sister for a late brunch 💖. Our first time trying this place. Yes it was “cold” outside and drizzling yet we still decided to sit outside for the view/ambience 🌃
Also my sister loved the sweet crepes and her coco glass. Very warm for this breezy night.
    *staff was so kind!

Kinda pricy but worth it 😌

  4. Very pleasant atmosphere! Chose to sit outdoors and enjoy lunch as the weather was cool & breezy! One waiter took my order & brought my food out but never returned. Noe, another waiter was tending to the table behind me & he didn’t hesitate nor was he at all bothered by me asking him to bring me a refill! In fact, he had such a wonderful attitude, I was glad he took over without hesitation. I can see that Noe takes so much pride in his work, he can definitely train the rest on how to provide exceptional service! He made us laugh we forgot that we had been forgotten by our initial waiter. Great job Noe, we will definitely be back because of your great customer service!

  5. We ate lunch here on a busy Saturday around 12:00 and there were a LOT of people. That to me is telling how good the food is. And it IS! We were a party of 6 so we had to wait about 15 minutes for a table. We walked next door to a antique shop and shopped until they called us on our cell phone. They offered us a table upstairs so we sat where it was kind of hot & breezy, but they had fans going. It was still a pleasant lunch even with the heat. The food was AMAZING and well worth the heat and the wait. We ordered 2 plates w/omelets, 2 plates w/croissant sandwiches, eggs Benedict, and chilaquiles. I got to taste a bit off each plate (we are family and share!), and I can say each plate’s main dish was very delicious! We paid about $14-17 per plate not counting our drinks, but for the quality of food it was very affordable. I would recommend taking a date, family, or friends here! You won’t be disappointed!!

Fantastic dinner here. The reviews can’t stress enough how wonderful this place was. Food, service, ambience were top notch. Ate at their sister restaurant Salt the following night and it was good but couldn’t possibly compare to the service and food we received here. Shout out to Julia, our server. She was so attentive and her recommendations were on point with our taste. A visit to the table by management was a nice touch. Will definitely visit again. Thanks!

I had an increndible dining experience there tonight. Lauren, our server was the highlight of our evening. Great customer service and attentive to our table. She is definitely a keeper. The food was exquisite. I am never disappointed there. I highly reccommend House Wine.

Was traveling for work and decided to stop here based on Trip Advisor reviews. Was going to go to Salt but so glad I didn’t (that’ll be another review!) I made a reservation just in case but was able to be seated promptly. The service was fantastic and the food was divine! I took the servers and managers recommendations and they didn’t disappoint. The Yahweh salad is soooo good, the lime shrimp, the drink, dessert, all of it was fantastic! I’m sad I didn’t go back here the next night! I’ve learned my lesson! Management also comes around and talks to you. They don’t just ask you if your food is okay, they talk to you like you’re a long lost friend. I appreciated it. And the temperature in the restaurant was nice and cool. Will definitely be going back here!

Beautiful ambiance and an amazing selection of delicious food. We had the shrimp appetizer, the 2 different burgers, as well as the filet. The filet was cooked to perfection. Our server, who I belive her name was Lisa (a tiny, bubbly mature woman who looks WAY younger than she is) was incredibly attentive and just sweet as pie. Me and my lady had an absolute blast

Wine selection- my 4th pick was in stock. Overall food quality was good. Risotto was cold, felt like it had been reheated. Lamb chops are my favorite! Friendly staff!

Maison Stivalet is the best brunch place in the area! The staff is very friendly and attentive. They have refreshing cucumber water as you wait for your food and drinks. The food is also amazing. You can taste the time and effort out into making the food. I didn’t take a picture because I finished the food before I ate it but my favorite dish is the Nashville chicken and waffles. The macaroons are also very well made and have the perfect amount of creme in them. They go great with any of their coffees. The adelaida special is my favorite.

Food was ok. Place was almost empty but we were only given the option to sit in a table for two at the back. Tables for two are way too small for 2 meals plus drinks and condiments. Food took about 30 minutes to arrive. We weren’t asked if refills were needed and our waiter never visited out table other than to take the order and bring us the meals. Food portions are too small for the price but presentation was good

They had the BEST Americano, hot coffee I’ve ever tasted. It’s brewed from freshly ground beans from Chiapas, Mexico. The best part about brunch at Maison Stivalet were the delicious children’s meals. They didn’t have overly fancy (and expensive) dishes with extravagant names. You can’t go wrong with classic meals like French toast, pancakes, eggs, (not overly salted/ spicy) bacon, and waffles. Their almond, chocolate croissant and red velvet macaroon were so fresh, light, buttery, and flaky. Sorry; no picture of these… the girls ate them before mom could snap a picture.

This is a very awesome place. The ladies are so great and very attentive! The pastries are always fresh and flavorful. They have one of the best staff I’ve come across and the service is A1. Shout out to the cooks, staff, servers and managers. They are very excellent and kind. I will be back!!

Hands down, marvelous place to eat in McAllen. The place gets pretty crowded so a reservation in advance is highly recommended. We came here for brunch, since we heard that they have Macaroons with special flavors like Mole or tamarind, which unfortunately are seasonal, but anyway we decided to try out a couple of dishes and some Macaroons. To drink we got a Mimosa and a Cold brew (made of Coffee from Chiapas, Mexico), both were extremely good. To eat we got the Barbacoa plate which was mixed with potatoes and a green salsa to die for and a couple of eggs on top (we asked them to be overeasy), it was extremely good . Moreover we got the Burger brunch which had a Wagyu patty and an overeasy egg as well, it came with a side of choice so we decided to get the normal french fries and OMG, best fries I’ve ever had (seriously), they were just cooked at the perfect point, not too salty, lightly crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. Every single item was perfectly cooked and really well balanced in terms of flavors, without mentioning that the presentation was also very nice. As dessert we decided to get the macaroons, they had some interesting flavors, such as Lavander, Chiapas Coffee, Dark chocolate, Flaming Chocolate (which was some sort of smokey slightly spiced chocolate), goat cheese, red velvet and pistachio, all of them were pretty good although our favorite ones were goat cheese, dark chocolate and Lavander. Definitely we’ll come back next time we visit McAllen.
