  1. Most people sign up for martial arts for self defense, myself and my family included. I quickly realized there is much more to it, especially for kids. They learn how to set and achieve goals, along with valuable life skills, such as respect, honesty, and of course, self defense. Owner and chief instructor, Master C, is a gifted teacher and motivator, and remains one of my favorite people on this earth. Sign yourself and your kids up, you will be glad you did.

  2. Legacy Martial Arts is more than a karate dojo it is extended family. My son has trained here for the past 3 years and I’ve witnessed his strength, perseverance and growth mindset develop here. This dojo is a safe place for kids/teens/adults to be challenged out of their comfort zones. If you are looking for incredibly talented instructors who are just the right combination of fun and yet earnest about the skills and life values they are instilling in their students than this is the place for you!

  3. Absolutely the most amazing dojo and staff in the Valley! My two boys have been with Master C for many years and while other sports have come and gone, their dedication to karate is not wavering and I attribute some of that to the family they have built at Legacy. Do not hesitate if you are thinking of trying Legacy out! You will be impressed!

  4. My 3 young children just started at Legacy Martial Arts and we absolutely love it. Master C’s enthusiasm and energy is out of this world. You can tell that he truly loves teaching and does so with passion. I appreciate not only his patience, but everyone on the team’s patience and kindness. This is a true family business and Mrs. C is just as amazing. And whoa, when I got to see their son who is also an amazing instructor lead the students, I was just as impressed as I was with Master C. That same passion shines through. Thank you Legacy Martial Arts for making the experience so much fun for my little ones. After homeschooling all day, they are full of anticipation to come and learn while having a good time.

  5. I owe a lot to who I am as a person to Legacy Martial Arts and the values they’ve taught me. I had the pleasure of taking classes with these skilled mentors, most notably Master C., more than 15 years ago. It wasn’t until last week that I revisited the studio and saw so much positive growth. And while there were numerous changes, some of the things that didn’t change were the dedication, passion, and kindness of this school as a whole.

    If you are considering a place to go to foster positive growth in yourself or someone you love, this is an absolutely fantastic place to start. Here you will learn more than just martial arts – you’ll learn strong morals and how to improve yourself in a sustainable way. You’ll also be welcomed into a warm and supportive community filled with others who want the same thing, creating a positive environment for growth and collaboration. I cannot recommend Legacy Martial Arts any more and truly hope they continue to grow.

    Trained for 1 day in GB Scottsdale, prof victor and prof Bernardo were really welcoming us for the visit. We were staying a little too far from Scottsdale therefore train at the other location more. Overall, GB scottdale treat us like family and like all the GB gyms has very high standard of training. I highly recommend to train under the 2 prof.

    I visited from Canada and everyone from the professors to all ranks of students warmly welcomed me into their space and onto their mats with open arms like family. The location is easy to get to, the facility is clean and the parking is ample. The instruction and training drills were practical, sensible, and foundational yet also had something for every belt level to work on under the attentive eye of the professors who took great care in supporting the student with what they needed to improve their game. This is one amazing group. No egos. No attitude. All smiles and positivity. All hard working. I feel so fortunate to have the opportunity to roll with them. I would highly recommend GB Scottsdale.

    I’ve been training at GB Scottsdale for a little over a year now and have had nothing but positive experiences every time I go. All of the Professors are extremely knowledgeable, patient and encouraging. Very professionally run organization. The facility and mats are cleaned regularly. Great training partners and an overall great training center.

    Can’t say enough about this place. They have all treated us like family since we walked in the doors. Professor Victor and Professor Bernardo always have the happiest most positive attitude that keeps the kids engaged and laughing.     This gym is definitely one of the best of its kind. The coaches and staff are all incredibly friendly and the training you receive is top notch. At one point these coaches went out of their way to call me up after my membership had expired to let me know that I had not used all of the sessions I had paid for and wanted me to come in despite not having a membership anymore. How rare is that. The honesty is just one of many reasons that this place stands out. Very comfortable environment and a large open gym space makes it worth every penny. As someone who is super new to this type of training I could tell I started to improve and learn just after a few classes.

    Excellent world class gym. All instructions are ex professional, current, or semi-professional fighters. Good for adults to train. Classes will have first times and experienced people from teens to 50-60 year olds. Expect to get out of comfort zone a little but feel great after class. Do one on one classes for a more instructional experience.

    I wish I had a better review to give this gym but the last six months have been a disappointment with this gym. I nanny a child locally here in Scottsdale and he had been coming to this gym for quite sometime and learning great takeaways from previous coaches that worked here. After coach Anthony left the gym, the heart for the childrens classes left along with it. There was no structure for the children and they were left with coaches who didn’t have prior experience with childrens classes and it became sloppy. The child I work for ended up breaking his arm due to one of the coaches at the gym and nobody in the gym believed the child was hurt, he was left screaming and crying and I was instructed to take him outside. After returning again from his injury, more coaches had left and the children were left to do whatever they chose during class. I feel as if he didn’t receive the proper treatment not only from coaches but from the gym and upon returning the family decided to remove him from the gym to take him elsewhere and even after of week of being back, we were stuck having to pay for another two months when I had expressed to multiple people in the gym how I felt the takeaway from the class was. If you’re looking for children mma classes, keep looking because they don’t have the same determination and drive with their kids as they do with adults who practice at this gym.

    Great gym that caters to all skill levels. Great programs for beginner bjj hobbyists, all the way up to top pro mma world champions, and everything in between. The success of the athletes who train here speaks for itself. The bjj program director, Paris, is a great guy with a wealth of knowledge. I recommend this gym to anyone.

    Great gym. My 7-year old attends the kick boxing class and it has made a world of difference in our home. Coach Anthony teaches discipline and does not take kindly to funny business. Perfect for today’s kids. I wouldn’t take them anywhere else.
