Had on of their techs come to our house on Friday to fix our sump pump. Woke up Saturday morning to a flooded finished basement that is going to cost thousands. Had a different plumber come the next day to fix the sump pump. The ASAP tech completely messed up the check valve and piping which made the sump pump ineffective. I called ASAP Saturday multiple times…no response. I emailed Sunday…finally a response but not from the owner. One of his secretaries. She told me she would ask the owner to call me. Flash forward to today and I STILL have not heard from the owner or gotten a refund if you can believe it. Do not use this company! I have used Vern in the past, and was happy with their service.
Today I tried to use them and found out they do a shady business trick. They won’t quote you a price unless you pay a $69 service fee to have someone look at for 2 seconds. I already knew that the hot water heater needed to be replaced and the office wouldn’t quote a price over the phone. The service tech came and kept rolling his eyes as I had a couple of questions. I was happy to pay the fee to send them on the way so I could get someone else. I’m glad I switched plumbers because the next plumber had a higher quality water heater and better pricing to boot.
Also, Vern’s discontinued their 10 year warranty on water heaters, which is why I wanted to use them. Suggest shopping around. It’s not the same Vern service I previously had.
Whoever is answering the phones at Vern’s, has the worst customer service ever.
We may not know all the diagnosis on what goes on with our plumbing / water heater, that’s why we call you. At least respond with care even if it can be a stupid question.
I was basically turned down when I explained my water heating problem. The person on the phone basically was saying, “don’t waste your time on having someone come out there, when I already know the issue”, just replace the water heater. Here’s the quote.
Even if the diagnosis could have been a new replacement, at least have the courtesy to ask if we would like your technicians come and take a look! Nope, wasn’t even offered. It was a weird silence on the phone.
Thank goodness, I went with my instinct and called another plumber. Turns out it wasn’t a water heating issue that did not need to be replaced. The thermostat was broken!
I called to get a quote for a new water softener and R/O system installed. I spoke with Kelly and she set me up with an appointment for a quote the next day. We had Chad for a consult and he explained everything we would need done. The quote had no questionable charges on it. It was straight forward and easy to understand. We accepted the bid and had Chad as our installer. Chad was so courteous and neat and clean. His work was outstanding! I am absolutely thrilled with the job we received from Chad and Kelly the receptionist. I give this company 5 stars as it is deserved!! Thank you Kummers Plumbing!
A new sump pump same day and water heater installed next day (to make sure no more water was accumulating)! Our expert was able to easily diagnose the source of the problem and answer my many questions. I felt like he was very genuine and knowledgeable, and even fixed other issues like a leaky pipe and water valve not open all the way that we would have never known to look for. We have been quoted insanely high prices for things in the past because of our tricky basement, and I felt an honest vibe from our expert and was comfortable with the prices.
I won’t be stressing out about future problems/projects, I’ve added them as a contact in my phone. Thank you!
