  1. A week ago, we rented a wallpaper steamer for a home project. Upon moving the steamer into our home, we noticed a dark liquid, with a noticeable odor, dripping from the one attachment. Looking more closely, we discovered this dark liquid had dripped onto our hardwood stairway. We have been unable to remove these stains. In reporting this to Hornungs I indicated we wanted the rental fee refunded, and may need to have Hornungs cover the damage to the stairway. While returning the steamer, I was assured a credit would be applied, and the manager (Charles) would be emailed to contact me. Nearly a week later, neither the credit has been applied, nor has Charles reached out to me.

    UPDATE… since posting this review, I was contacted by Jason Hornung, who not only agreed to process the rental credit, but also to provide at no cost, a stripping agent and varnish to refurbish the stairway at no cost to me. As with past experiences with the Linglestown Hornungs, they stepped up to the plate and took ownership!

  2. It’s a great hardware store. It reminds me so much of my old small town hardware store. The employees are more than willing to help you out and explain things in detail if you need it. Highly recommend them any day over the big box stores.

  3. Charlie in rentals provided exceptional service when I rented a wet tile saw this past weekend. He took the time to show me how to use it and also gave me tips for my specific project. I highly recommend this Ace location!

  4. You do not need to search out help. They ask you! Excellent customer service and a store with all the choices in lawn and home care. Reasonable priced. Great coupon offers too

  5. I purchased a Craftsman riding mower and after it was delivered today I used it to cut my lawn. I am 83 years old and wanted to continue mowing my own lawn. With this new riding mower I will be able to cot my own lawn for the next 10 years.

    Normally a decent place but was not welcomed when I walked in nor asked if I needed help by an associate. Fortunately I know this store pretty well so not a big deal. I did spend over $100.00 on my purchase and when asked if I had an ace reward card I said yes but couldn’t remember the phone number. I then asked the young man at the counter if he could pull it up by name instead and he said he couldn’t do that. As a former Ace employee, I know that can be easily accomplished but this associate had no interest in actually helping me so I made my purchase and left. I will going to Riverside Hardware in Middletown from now on.

    This hardware store is a bit bigger than my local one. They have more selections. Even some patio brick and I really enjoy finding seasonal items year round. They have a nice section dedicated to wild birds here.
