    ●● Zero Stars for Intake/Lost & Found Pet Support Center

    This little rascal showed up on my doorstep last week with a huge pack of dogs. For some reason he decided to stay behind so I brought him to PACC to see if he has a chip, gets vaccines, & get chipped, (turns out he didn’t have one). I ended up keeping him for 7 days but was really afraid for his health, he became very ill & I couldn’t get him into the emergency vet before Labor Day so I brought him to PACC to surrender him.

    The intake/lost & found center was quite difficult & frankly horrible to deal with. They were rude, patronizing, & gave such conflicting information, I was ready to lose my mind by Sun night. I was told intake closes at 5pm so imagine my surprise when I pull it at 4:42pm & am told they closed at 4:15?! The lady that answered the phone told me to wait a little bit & someone would be out… The puppy & I sat in the truck for an hour. I called again to make sure I wasn’t forgotten & said that when the answering service picked up. The lady said, “oh, I think they did forget you.” A few mins went by & an employee who was heading to her car asked if she could help me. I said, “I’m here for intake.” She says, “sorry, we’re closed.” Luckily she’s the one who took my call & told me to wait so she remembered me & got someone to come out. As the guy is getting the puppy from the truck & I’m bawling my eyes out, I asked what happens next. He said, “the pup gets tested, treated, & put up for adoption.” I was freaking! I thought I’d get to claim him 1st which is what I was told 5 days prior. Nope. They acted like he came in off the streets & posted him for adoption on Tues. Luckily I saw it & drove over on my lunch break & he was still there.

    I was seen & able to sign the adoption papers in under an hour. The adoption & volunteer center was a completely different environment! Every person there was cheerful, helpful, & sincere! I’ll never deal with intake/lost & found again. I’ll find a different shelter if ever a stray animal shows up on my doorstep again, but the other department was incredible & I would work with them any day of the week!

    I don’t know why the two departments are so different. One was horrible & frustrating & made me bawl my eyes out for days. They made me feel like an annoying idiot every step of the way. The other was a breath of fresh air & made me cry tears of joy! They made the whole terrible experience worth it in the end!

  2. Had us sit out in the cold while they “went to get him”. We waited for 35 minutes out there, they came back and said “oh he’s over stimulated so we aren’t gonna show him today. You’re welcome to come back tomorrow if you’re dead set on it.” I explained that I drove all the way from Sierra Vista to meet him. So, I decided to just go to his kennel and see how “over stimulated” he was. Not only was he not barking, he looked half asleep! 1 star from me. I hope no other veterans waste their time with these liars. This dog could have have a great home. I was the ONLY person they told this nonsense to. I hope somebody rescues him.

  3. From a close friend of ours had told us about Pima and looked through their website and decided to go look. We found a female white Husky ( Skye) and checked on her and at 1st she had been partially adopted so we went back the next morning and this young sweet loving girl was still available so we was able to adopt her. The while process was very easy and we really appreciate what Pima Animal is doing for these pets. Amazing program they have in place for all the critters.

  4. I was very impressed with this shelter. Everything seemed very clean inside. Everyone was so nice and walked us through the whole process of adopting our first dog ❤️ Tubby is loving his new home and we couldn’t have asked for a better dog for us ❤️

  5. We visited the shelter today looking for a black cat 🐈‍⬛ to join our family, as we already have a black cat. We found the perfect little female cat. The process was easy, everyone was friendly, and the cat is adapting well to our home. This is the second pet I’ve adopted over the past six years. Thank you PACC!

    The most amazing group of young ladies and men who helped us with a special event. My heart is definitely lighter knowing all the kitty cats young and older will be taken care of lovingly and with dignity. We had a problem with Ferral Cats at my place of work, and when I contacted them for guidance, they were right there, hearts ready to help these little guys get on their way to forever homes. Loaded with food and traps, which are cute, little crates were set up, and the kitties all let their noses guide them to their journey. Loaded in the van, they didn’t just stop at our 11+6+however many. These volunteers found their way down our street and to aid and assist even more kittens and cats. This isn’t something to do for these volunteers it’s a passion in their own hearts to save and empower these Lil critters to have the greatest life ever. We lost one or two who were very sick, and their quality of life just wouldn’t be there, but they called us and wanted to make sure I was OK with these actions. One of the Lil guys was coming home with me once he was vaccinated and fixed and nourished, but the Lord had other plans, and he needed a kitty. Thank you just isn’t enough….think about your immediate future and long-term when taking on a fur baby. They love unconditionally, but they are not meant to be thrown away and only given part-time love. Are you loved part-time? Give back to this organization with time, blankets, sheets, food, toys, and whatever is on your heart. Show your kids what it means to give and love unconditionally. With a million thanks and tears, thank you, thank you !

    The staff is lovely if not over run with all the work they have to do. Took the time to show compassion for a hard time with surrendering a pet…. It is never an easy decision to adopt/surrender..as its not just an animals life your effecting. The people working still have compassion…even with so little time. I am grateful for these people, and I would recommend this establishment for adopting/surrendering. It is not a light choice to take on a life/animal…but they make it easier by SHOWING that the babies/cats/dogs/animals will be cared for and safe till a forever home is found….will your home be forever for a life? Do you have the compassion that the staff does? Or should you just donate because you don’t have the heart to make a life commitment to a life that solely depends on you? Because as humans we made the domestic animals have these personalities, be like the staff and cherish that life, or just donate and save everyone including animals the pain and stress. I trust the staff to make good choices.

    The experience was positive. You do need to arrive about 30 to 40 minutes before they open to get on line if you want to be seen. We arrived at 6:30 and was number 21. Service is great and the price per vaccine is low cost compared to other animal hospitals. We had 3 large dogs and that was challenging! Overall a positive experience.

    I’m disabled and these people are simply amazing! I could barely walk the morning of my kitty’s spay, so they came out to my car, got her, then brought me all the paperwork. On return to pick her up they did the same in reverse, I’m forever grateful to all who work at the Humane Society. Thank you for taking care of my baby. Thank you for all you do!

    Only walk 2 dogs per visit which they don’t even tell you until after you picked out a dog. Said they had data to support that reduces infection and when I asked for the data, it was no where to be found. Told me infront of my 3 kids that they had a dog maul a cat to death recently so they make no guarantees. Definitely not interested in finding homes for pets and only interested in scaring off people who genuinely want to provide a loving home. Take your family elsewhere unless you want to endure their abusive “policies”.

    This is my third time adopting a pet and by far the best experience. The shelter/sanctuary is super clean, organized by cat age and temperament, and the most important thing that caught my eye was the cats were free to roam. They looked content, well fed, and taken care of. In my previous experience adopting from a shelter, most pets were locked in a cage by themselves. Not this case here, they have general population with tons of towers and toys, which is so important for cats. Love the staff here, too. They were so funny, patient, and very informative.

    Such a unique and wonderful space for all kinds of cats. Friendly and helpful staff/volunteers. A great way to interact with loads of cats without having to own them all yourself. Well worth a visit if you are a cat lover.

    The Hermitage Cat Shelter is Amazing! I just adopted a cat there and it’s a wonderful place for cats waiting for a home. They have different areas to meet different cats needs whether it’s cats with allergies or senior cats, kittens, cats with medical needs or the general population cats. Each area is cage free and has a catio so the cats have fresh air and it is spotless everywhere! I did not see a litterbox that had anything in it. Cat water fountains and people feeding, cleaning and loving most importantly on these beautiful cats. I spent probably 3 hours there and met amazing people and sweet cats needing homes. Please check it out if you have room in your heart and home for an awesome cat.

    It’s an amazing place! No kill, no cage cat shelter and sanctuary. The staff and volunteers are amazing people with big, kind hearts! So many beautiful cats and I just wanted to take them all home. Instead a 6 year old black and white domestic shorthair named Oura adopted me. She’s hiding in my shoe rack until she figures it all out.
