What People Are Saying: 5 Customer Reviews

  1. We went specifically to look at one dog but ended up taking home a little girl. She’s so sweet. And as the days go by, she’s getting used to us all, and her personality is really showing.

  2. We had a great experience! We adopted a kitten yesterday. Juliet was so helpful with our selection process.
We love Burton and glad he’s a part of our family. The adoption fee is more than fair, he’s vacationed, nurtured and had his own blanket and box. The toys at their store are a great price as well. We got him a collar, name tag and several toys.

The facility was very clean and the cats looked very well cared for.

We had an exceptional experience! Thank you to all the staff!

  3. It’s been a long time since we’ve adopted an animal, but we had talked about getting a cat for some time. Since we had recently moved to a larger home and more rural area with lots of room, we felt the time was right. We took a look at the IHS website and read the descriptions of many of the cats. I didn’t really want a kitten, so we focused on the older cats. We found one that was described as very friendly and extroverted. That seemed about right and Sylvie was just as described. She didn’t mind being picked up or touched and although we did look at others, I knew right away that she was right for us. It’s only day two, but she seems to like it at our house. She’s still getting used to things and to our dogs, but things seem to be going well. All in all it was a great experience and the staff was extremely helpful and friendly. They gave us a few items to help Sylvie’s transition to her new home and someone donated $20 toward her adoption, so that was very nice. I would recommend that anyone who is thinking of getting a dog, cat, rabbit or cat even a hamster or gerbil check out their site first. The descriptions give you a good idea of what you can expect and highlight the things you’ll want to pay attention to or consider when choosing. Ask them what food they are giving and maybe even litter or other items as it will help and they will gladly assist you.
Edit/Update: 3/7/23 Sibie is doing great and she is such a part of our family now that we can’t imagine life without her. She is quirky and sweet and feisty and perfect for us. It’s hard to believe that somebody returned her to the shelter, but we are goad they did. Maybe they weren’t ready for her, but she has her home forever now. 😊

  4. Good dogs. Well cared for. Staff is extremely unimpressive however. I don’t know what they use over there, but it must be strong. Numerous reviews of dogs where the narrative shows “terrible with cats” while the profile says they’re great. We adopted a dog they had listed as 71 lbs. Didn’t look that heavy. I asked. They were adamant. 71 lbs. Took him to the vet. 54 lbs. Substantially lighter. Cost us a whole afternoon buying different equipment for the dog. Get it together.

  5. Adopted Stella A 2 Month old Kitten Apparently born at the Shelter. Yesterday. She’s Partially Litterbox Trained. Settled onto Her Forever Hone With Me Quite Quickly. Bought Her this Ball Which Appears Identical to the one on Her Cage She played with ! Now She goes Oh That old thing ?? And plays With Everything Else Including Me ! She’s Very Happy & Friendly to All My Friends.

The Idaho Humane Society Did A Great Job With the Her and We Quite helpful in my Semi-Complex Adoption Situation. I’m A ,,61 Senior with $0.00 income butA High School Friend & Her Husband were Willing to Help With Adoption Fees & Starter Supplies for This kitten. The Transaction was done Electronically and Was Completed pretty Fast. Apparently this Situation Doesn’t Occur Frequently ? But the Staff Worked it out For Me & My Friends Who helped Financially

Thank You to All The Amazing Staff @ Idaho Humane Society

Wonderful no-kill shelter that truly advocates for their cats! They do a great job of socializing the kitties they care for here (both with humans and other cats!) and an even better job matching you with a cat that fits with your lifestyle. I really appreciated Erika’s expertise on each kitty we interacted with, and let us know what kind of home environments they would be most comfortable in. They make a wonderful effort here to advocate for the ideal lifestyles/needs for each cat. We adopted our sweet little Johnni from here and with their advice she is absolutely thriving. I cannot recommend this place enough. If you’re a cat lover looking for a furry companion, this is the place to go.

Simply Cats is the best shelter and adoption center for cats. It’s a no kill shelter and they strive to help all the cats that come in with sicknesses or disabilities. I got 3 very special kitties over the years from them and one of my Cats has feline dwarfism. The cats are always comfortable and the rooms are kept clean. The staff is amazing! Highly recommended!

This organization is great! The cats get daily enrichment, rooms instead of cages, and a great home. Rather than “first come first serve”, the staff choose a perfect fitting home for each kitty. The building is kept very clean and sterile. I volunteer here and love it. Definitely recommend!

We had the best experience adopting our first cat from Simply Cats! We emailed hoping to be matched with a cuddly cat that would be comfortable around dogs, and had an appointment set up right away. When we arrived for our appointment, they had created a list of cats they thought would be a fit for us. Erika was extremely knowledgeable and explained the whole process and allowed us to go into the cat rooms and physically meet and interact with each one. The whole facility was so clean and organized. They have interactive toys, beds, at catios they can birdwatch at and every room had a whiteboard with their info and daily updates on their behavior. We fell in love with Miss Tabby, now named Arya. She has adapted so well to our home and we couldn’t be more happier with our new family member. Thank you so much for everything!

Simply Cats is an amazing place to find your new best friend. Every cat and kitten that comes into the shelter is treated with love and kindness until they are adopted into a home. I started volunteering at the shelter over a year ago and see first hand the commitment Simply Cats has to the animals in their care. Boris, our sweet senior kitty, is Simply Car alumni and even though we have had him about 9-months, staff still asks about him. Simply Cats is just the best!

They were great. I found a baby bird and called them, they said to bring it in so hopefully can save it. Only thing is when I filled out the paperwork they asked me to, I requested for an update on the bird’s progress. I’ve not heard from them about it. I know that’s not really their job but it would’ve been nice to see some follow through and hear from them.

These people couldn’t care less about dogs! I called them about a dog that’s been running loose in the Malad area off Vista crapping in neighbors yards and driving fenced dogs in the area crazy. They said they won’t do anything unless they can have my landlords address which my landlord refuses to give due to the nature of the owners of the dog. They also refused to remove a coyote from the neighborhood that’s been killing domestic and feral cats in the area. They are worthless!! Reply to reply: It’s a neighbors dog not a wild animal. Nice try!

Everyone at the center was very kind to me when I had to go identify my cat who had been killed by dogs. I was traumatized but the staff was very sensitive and respectful.

I’m rather confused why they would lie and say they have animals cremated when they’re actually disposed of like literal trash and waste. It isn’t the animals that are waste.

If you plan on doing a pet surrender You better hope you live in ada because if you made any recent schedules with an out of county city they will reject you. I had no where else to go. No one would take them and I had no other options. Not even west valley was taking any. After having everything scheduled, having the pets stay in a city within ada, and waiting an entire week to be able to drop these cats off and pay the fee, they said no.
