- Reviews:I moved into Givens Estates the year I turned 60 and was definitely on the young side of residents, but it turned out to be the best decision I’ve ever made. I now have a rich social network of friends (more than when I lived in a regular neighborhood and barely knew my neighbors!). Because I moved in while still active I am able to take advantage of all the activities and amenities Givens offers – the pottery studio, fabulous dining, clubs, a well-equipped fitness center, etc. Being comfortably established in familiar surroundings will definitely make the aging process much easier and less stressful for me. It also wasn’t until I moved here that I realized how much stress I could let go of with no longer having to worry about maintaining my own home. If there is a problem with my house, I call Maintenance, and they respond quickly and take care of the problem. The staff are wonderful and do their utmost to take care of us which allows us to truly enjoy life to the fullest. You will find the residents to be vibrant and active, and I am delighted to be a part of this great community!By Kathleen Miritello (5 months ago)Please read: many of the positive reviews are of Givens Estate – NOT the Health Center at Givens Estate (which is on the campus, but separate from the main retirement community). This is a review of the Health Center at Givens Estate. We were extremely disappointed by care parent rcvd: the lack of warmth, the compartmentalized, uncoordinated care, and the dismissive attitude of staff. Therapy dept was skilled, but the remainder of staff was cold (cruel at time) and my parent was neglected on many levels: basic toileting care, poor diet (lost 10% body weight), and lack of follow-through w nursing. We finally self-initiated bringing parent to hospital due to gradual and eventually serious decline in health and unmet needs while at the Health Center (which issues presented were summarily dismissed by staff/mgmt as not their problem or fault!). My parent was so sick due to their neglect, remained at hospital for 3 weeks until well enough to be moved. The healthcare system is a mess, but if you have a very sick, elderly parent, I urge you to not to admit them to the Health Center as they will not get the care they need. - Reviews:Greymont Village is an awesome place to live! Mountain views with incredible hiking and biking trails that connect to Bent Creek, Biltmore Lake, Lake Powhatan + more. The interior of the apartments are modern, shower/bath luxurious and kitchens have granite countertops with new appliances. The Sauna, Fitness Center and Pool are all very nice and there’s restaurants, breweries, coffee shops, dog daycare, grocery stores and Blue Ridge Parkway nearby. West Asheville is a 10 min drive and downtown 15 mins. Friendly staff, great service and good community. I was pleasantly surprised at just how beautiful the apartment complex was. Tucked into the hillside, with gorgeous views of the mountains was breathtaking. Ask for Ed when you get there. Greeted with a smile, and a handshake, Ed answered all my questions. My tour of the apartments didn’t feel rushed. The apartment floor plans are comfortable, plenty of storage, and the shower heads are out of this world amazing. The pool area with the outdoor kitchen was also an unexpected luxury. They said it is a gated community, but the community gate has been broken for almost 6 months, and we really need one. Last week someone tried to steal my 2 bikes, and since I don’t have a camera to proof it, they didn’t do anything. We have been residents at Ascot Point Apartments for going on 2 years now. The location is perfect, it’s centered around any food, bar, or place you would ever need to go in Asheville. The newly renovated apartments are nice on the inside and meet our needs perfectly. Jonathan, the property manager, is awesome! Anytime we’ve ever had any issues, he always goes above and beyond to find a solution. I would recommend that anyone looking for a place to live come and try to join to the Ascot Point Village community!
Me and my husband did our wedding reception in the theater and it was wonderful. The property manager Jonathan is Amazing!! He is very helpful, respectful and extremely understanding. Great apartment complex with lovely neighbors. We absolutely love living here!!!
Very nice apartments. Ours was freshly renovated and finished well. The outside area is clean and quiet for a property this big. Erin and the whole staff have been great and we’re very helpful and responsive during the moving process. Highly recommend.
I’ve only been here for over a little a month but I must say moving here was one of the best experiences I’ve had! The onboarding process was so smooth because of Erin in the office! She so was so nice during the tour and was able to answer all my questions and concerns. She was prompt with my paperwork and made sure I got all the help I needed, even went above and beyond. Since moving Erin has been so supportive, I don’t hesitate to reach out when I need something. Erin makes Ascot my home away from home! I’m so glad she’s here and that I moved to Ascot.
I’ve been a resident for about two and a half years. I’m happy with my decision to call this home. I renewed my lease earlier today. I lived in my former home for twenty years (a gated community in Fort Myers, FL), so I do not make changes casually. My unit is in one of the newer buildings, so I can’t attest to how all of the units present themselves, but I do know that they have been updating them continuously since I arrived. As far as the location in Biltmore Forest, you would need to purchase to find a better or more convenient address.
