  4. Blackman’s Championship Martial Arts is truly a gem! In the short period of time that my son has been training there, he has gained more confidence, a sense of self worth and belonging, learning respect and his self esteem has improved. The staff is fantastic! We have been treated like family. Even the other students have been so encouraging and welcoming. This really is a special place.

    I encourage anyone with a child who is shy, unsure of themselves, socially awkward or in need of confidence to go to Blackman’s and give them a try… You will not be disappointed!!

    From the moment we entered the front door, we felt the presence of all the MMA greats who trained here at JW. We were warmly welcomed by management, coaches and all the athletes. To see Wink in the cage holding mitts for an up and coming UFC fighter as he has done so professionally for the past 20 something years was a view to behold. After a tour of the facility we immediately scheduled with Misha to get some of our Bare Knuckle and MMA fighters in to do their camps there. If you are a fighter, I highly recommend a visit, you won’t be disappointed.

    Spent two weeks training at JacksonWink and it was like Disneyland. I initially stopped by just to ask if I was allowed to peek inside. I was filled with anxiety and excitement to find out I can easily train there everyday of the week (for a price). I went to all the 6pm – 7pm classes. Every class was packed full of great techniques and valuable information. You’ll stand side by side with some of the most talented MMA fighters in the world and you’ll learn from legends of the sport (1st class was with Joey Villasenor and I couldn’t even contemplate I was seeing this man in real life. I’d seen him in the cage as a fan so many times and now to have him 10 ft away teaching me MMA striking techniques was WILD!). I was in ABQ on business, but daily, I found myself thinking about nothing except getting off work so I could go train. Disclaimer: I felt like an outsider at the gym; which is natural. I wasn’t exactly a regular. Additionally, I only train martial arts for protection and my own self improvement. I’m not preparing for my pro debut or anything like that. The gym operates at a speed equivalent to preparing MMA fighters for their next fight. You may feel like a guppie amongst a sea of sharks; you kind of are. LOL. It might not be the best place to start your martial arts journey if you’ve never trained a combat discipline, but if you show up, show respect, keep it playful and try to have fun, they’ll take care of you.     Dropped in while visiting and was very impressed. They had a great noon class with about 8 other folks on the mat. Great instructional information and good class training structure. The mat space was good and the gym was very clean. Most of all everyone was friendly and welcoming and no one rolled with huge a ego to try to smash the visitor or prove how good they are. If you get the chance to train here you will for sure be in good hands.

    I was traveling through Albuquerque and wanted to find a great place to train at during my time in town. I was not disappointed in choosing Impact. The owner and staff are really friendly and welcoming; as a traveling practitioner some places can give a different feeling in a negative way. The training was high quality and full of respectful students. Also the academy is beautiful! If you are in the area and looking for a place to train I would highly recommend it

    Impact is an incredible place! My four year old son attends their Minis class, and he has grown (both physically and mentally!) so much. It’s been a great way for him to channel his energy in an appropriate and skillful way, while also having a blast! The coaches and staff are so welcoming, and the whole family looks forward to going to watch our son. Ben and Kaethe have created a community that we are proud to be a part of!! 🙂

    What an amazing gym!! This gym is for anyone who is into Jiu Jitsu, from a new beginner to advanced level people. The owners are great and create a family atmosphere for all its members, everyone here becomes friends without the drama of many gyms I’ve rolled in.

    The energy of the gym is very welcoming. A very “come as you are” vibe. Professor Ben doesn’t expect you to bow on and off the mats, purely individual choice. The gym has team gear, rash guards, Gis, stickers, shirts, etc which you’re encouraged to wear team gear but not expected nor required. Professor Ben is a spectacular coach, his level of understanding and ability to convey great explanatory detail about every technique he teaches in such a down to earth manner makes him the best teacher and professor of his craft. I myself am an Impact blue belt and wouldn’t train anywhere else.
