I called the Jones Valley store and spoke to Ben and he was probably the most helpful person I have ever talked to in any store and was a tremendous help in finding a cat food that I could possibly get my sick cat to eat and even put it aside for me so I could go to the store and get immediate help to look at the food and choose what my cat might eat never had such great service anywhere period

  3. Angela at the checkout is always so professional and nice. Today I was standing in line hands full. She offered to get me a cart to give me a rest from holding my items as she checked other people out. That was just very sweet and thoughtful. Great employee… needs a raise.

  4. I love this store! However, something tells me my male Guinea pig is not a male (my other 3 are confirmed female so “Cody” was pregnant when we bought her) 🤣 Babies coming any day!!! 🥰

    We lost our baby to old age, so we decided to rescue a baby, The staff was amazing, answering all of our questions, and going above and beyond to help us, our baby picked us! We took Wilson home and have been in love every since, We decided Wilson needed a sibling/ playmate, and went back a week or so later…in the same spot Wilson was in, our next baby Manny picked us! We are all in love, and a very happy family…just look at these fellas ❤️

    I rescued my girl almost 2 years ago & she is my absolute best friend. The BEST dogs come from the shelter, I swear. I came back this week to play with some of the puppies up there & what a night and day difference from even 2 years ago. All the dogs get warm blankets, cots, raw hides, treats & toys. They’ve even done a meet & greet area outside. They are really trying everything they can to make these pups less scared, more comfortable, more interactive & adoptable. Staff was friendly, even more knowledgeable on their personalities or background than what I experienced in the past. They’ve done amazing to improve. You cannot go wrong with a small fee to get a best friend with all shots, vaccs, spay/neuter included plus they’ll give you a small bag of food to start.     I cannot speak more highly of the staff. We brought in a lost dog and they received her with big hearts. If you have found a dog, you can be sure they will take good care of them. If this is your sweet dog, please find her with the Huntsville Animal Shelter.

    Had to drop off an old dog my brother found in his neighborhood, and the staff was friendly, helpful, and understanding. We even offered to adopt her if no owners were found, but sadly she had congestive heart failure. She was a sweet old dog.

    This Review is long overdue. One year ago today, I met and adopted my dog Roxie (aka Sally Kate). I had no idea just how much of a perfect companion she was for me. I would challenge anyone to visit a Shelter first. The love and joy a rescue can bring to your life is like no other. I found a ‘diamond in the rough’, when I saw her picture and adopted her. I’ll always be grateful to Greater HSV Humane Society for this cherub.

    Heads up, a few of the reviews here seem to be confusing the city shelter (Huntsville Animal Services, not no-kill) with this no-kill, nonprofit humane society. I go all the time and the staff are friendly and understandably busy. It is always clean and they take some of the worst cases. I have seen pets other than dogs and cats on their website too. I know from the news they donate a ton of food to the community. So grateful to have them in Alabama—we need more shelters like this.

    They give out free food on the 2nd Wednesday and last Saturday of the month if you qualify financially. They want to help those that are struggling financially but still want pets 🐕🐩🐈‍⬛🐈. I think that’s great!!! You can get food for up to 4 pets.

    Absolutely terrible idea to adopt a pet from here. They aren’t in any hurry to review your “application” for your new pet. They make excuses for why they haven’t reviewed your application. If you are planning to surprise someone with a pet knowing they are a pet lover they’ll deny your application. They’ll come up with some excuse and say it’s against their policy to let you adopt the pet as a gift (even after you’ve explained why it’s a gift and that it will goto a loving family). The best part is on the application it even asks if you’re adopting as a companion or a gift. Do not go here, they don’t want pets to be adopted. Absolutely awful experience. Oh and the short chubby girl in there is rude.

    Staff is not very friendly. When we walked in and signed up to see the animals, they acted like we were bothering their screen time. Facility is nasty and not very well taken care of. Not alot of animals to adopt, which I guess is a good thing??
