What People Are Saying: 5 Customer Reviews

  1. Check online prices if you are going to buy anything because the prices vary greatly. In the store, a bag of walnut shell for bird cages is $17.99. The online price is $8. I find this dishonest and unfair to those who are not tech savvy, but it’s the way they gauge you if you don’t happen to look online. They will honor the online price if you show it to them.

  2. Extremely poor choice for cat food. Purina and royal canin and others feels like leftovers. Customer service very bad had to wait for help a long time and was pushed to the side at least 3 times. I was paying cash and she gave me change with 1c at least 20-25 coins.
Also a lot of barking since there’s a dog training station or whatever. I’ve been to many pet stores that would be the worst one so far.

  3. Staff were very professional and courteous! From Admitting staff who checked us in, to the vet tech who attended to my dog Coco. The vet doctor Dr. Kelly is trustworthy about her diagnosis and recommendations. Very satisfied customer. Highly recommended vet place.

  4. BAD GROOMER!!! DO NOT TAKE YOUR DOG HERE FOR GROOMING! My dog has been with Petco for years and this is the first time I took him to this location because we had to move. The groomer name Jennifer did not completely dry my dog when I specified in the phone asking is my dog completely dried. She had a really BAD ATTITUDE when I talk to her about this issue. When I mentioned he was washed perfectly at another location she even said “Then take him elsewhere!” and gave me the look. When I speak to the assistant manager about his he also had no idea how to work with the system and tell me to wait at the counter for over half an hour. Do not come here. NOT THE SERVICE YOU DESERVE.

  5. Petco is a paradise for furry friends. (🐈 🐕)
They can find anything whatever they want.
    (From foods to toys🧸 )

Furry friends are going to love (❤️) this place.

This was my first experience adopting from a shelter and it was a great first experience. I’ve owned a lot of Cats in my childhood they can’t compare to the two cats I adopted here. If your looking for lifelong pets this is the place to go hands down. The service was amazing and everyone was incredibly helpful.

This is one of the best animal shelters here’s in OC. The staff are great and take care of the animals. It’s happy to see animals get adopted pet quickly as well. It’s always sad to see these animals in a cage but most seem to get adopted pretty quick, which is great. Would definitely recommend visiting if you’re thinking of getting a pet.

This was my first time adopting and I got a little senior dog. The installations were they have them are clean and organized. The service is great and the staff are all kind. If your interested in a pet they first make you feel out a form to see if your house is compatible with the pet. And then you can make a appointment to get to know the pet which is nice. It’s great so please go adopt a cute pet.

Great place. We just adopted a kitten. The staff are fantastic. The place is amazing. The animals are well taken care of and their interview process is good. I would highly recommend stopping by. If you can handle the responsibility, having an animal will definitely make you happier. Kudos to the staff here.

What you need to know is: you must call to make an appointment if you want to see ANY animal. You’re not allowed to freely walk the premise to check out the animals. They permit visiting with 2 dogs per visit. To make the appointment, you need to have the animals’ IDs which are available on their website. For cats and other animals, you can see as many as you want during that visit. The minus one point is I think this facility hasn’t adapted to the evolution of the pandemic and is still bottlenecking visitation for no warranted reason. Some workers are masked and others aren’t. This hurts the animals’ chance of finding a home and being caged up unnecessarily longer. The 2 huskies I saw here were extremely anxious. Poor dogs. Oc animal care, please change your visitation policy. I saw multiple people walk out because they didn’t want to make an appointment and wait 1 hour to check out an animal when I was sitting in the lobby. The workers didn’t seem to care. I saw workers suggesting people go to a different shelter with more flexible visitation rules. What a disservice to the animals in your shelter. Do you not know your mission? This is a kill facility and all the more reason to come here and save the animals.

Very friendly and helpful! I found 2 pugs running around in Tustin and they were able to scan them for a microchip and found the owners! Very professional and clean intake area. Keep up the good work!

Gross incompetence. They won’t let you see the dogs that are available for adoption. You must make an appointment to see just one or two dogs. Who would go to Target if they had to make an appointment to see each item they wanted? The dogs want to see every possible family that wants them. Fire everyone responsible for this incompetence. I was wondering if I was going crazy until I heard the protester outside begging them to change their “appointment only” policy that started after COVID-19. It’s not called Covid-23. Get with the program. They have a permanent stencil on the glass door to the kennels saying dogs and rabbits this way but then have a temporary sign that says just the opposite claiming you must make an appointment before you see just a couple animals who want to go home with you. I will be contacting my city council members that chose to contract with this shelter to ask that they fire these guys and find a competent replacement. The dogs and cats deserve better. So sorry to the well meaning volunteers who quietly know that the animals deserve better. If anyone needs lawyers to help, contact us.

The shelter remains hard to access for the public. “Most” of the kennel staff and volunteers are wonderful animal lovers, most times I’m here I am impressed by their dedication (the low rating is for the facility, not for the kennel hands and volunteers). However, with the COVID restrictions lifted, the shelter remains closed to the public. OC shelter got a hardware upgrade from the next to Fwy and crowded and outdated location to now brand new Tustin multi-million dollar facility, still the software, ie, the management sadly stays the same. Hopefully it catches up and we see more people that really care about animal warfare managing the shelter.

I adopted my beautiful dog, Blu from the OC animal shelter back in January 2019. Ever since, I have found a true little partner in crime. I’m very grateful for my experience here.
