4 months agoI’m not sure how Maui ever did without a Costco. One of the best places for gas too! Update – I just discovered they have great hospitality quality linens and towels perfect for our west Maui MK806 vacation rental condo so we bought a cart full!5 months agoThis needs to be your first stop in Maui! We landed and immediately went here to get some essentials. We grabbed lunch for $23 for all six of us! Then we headed inside to get some water, snacks for the kids, sunscreen, and food. The parking lot was packed but we expected to see that. The staff was very friendly and attentive. The location was clean and up to my standards. Make sure you have enough room in your car!8 months ago((Edit next day 12/14/2022)) I stopped by to return 2 shorts because I bought a smaller size. The Team member, Michelle, was extremely nice and courteous. She even explained to me to download the Costco app, as that also stores all my purchase history in case I lost my receipt. She was super helpful as she noticed I wasn’t from Maui and was buying souvenirs, gifts, clothing. Michelle is a A++ Team member, and truly represents both Costco and Hawaii’s value of “Ohana”. Thank You.((Original below)) Coming over from the mainland (WA/CA), I can honestly say the merchandise and pricing here are both similar and different. You will find a LOT of local items specific for the islands, and I would suggest stopping by here for clothing and gifts.
[Clothing] So many beautiful Aloha shirts, shorts, swim, hybrid, wear. Priced reasonably compared to outside shops, locally made in HI.
[Cookies/Candy/Sweets] Great value for multi-box of chocolate mac nuts, cookies, etc, great for gifts to take back. Lots of special holiday cookies/candies made in HI.
[Pies] There is a Guava Cheesecake available. Zero in the mainland. Same pricing as mainland general pumpkin or apple pies.
[Outdoor Gear] Lots of beach, boards, snorkel, hike, trail gear available.
Overall, a fresh and nice stop, plus cheap gas compared to outside.
a year agoTo be fair I walked around in the store quickly, but was impressed with the cleanliness of the storeMy family and are traveling and needed a quick bite, so we used the food court. It is located outside and has 4 fountain soda machines. We all got pizza and it was great. This Costco had a mango smoothie, my daughter got it. Very sweet tasting, but she loved it
This Costco has solar panels which act as weather coverage for member parking.
The store also has a gas station, but we did not use it.
2 months agoEverything!! Super fast & nice checkers!! Best prices in town and they guarantee your purchase satisfaction!! Get executive membership in the new Citibank Visa card you get 3% back and we usually get two extra checks a year which is great and check out the new food court and now they’re even saving more money with the solar panels Costco seems to do so many things right!! Especially their pretty easy-going ” return policy!” If you don’t like the quality or the product they usually accept returns. Costco pricing is really hard to match anywhere else on the island! I buy all my cooler bags, beach chairs, towels, bags, and snorkel gear here!!

Love that they have a great selection of Hawaiian food/ snacks.. they also have lots of beach related things so if you forgot to bring anything from mainland, just stop by here. Fair prices as well!Also their spicy ahi tuna was really good!!
2 months agoI Love Coming to Costco!I have been a member of Costco for years, and this is where we do 80%of our grocery shopping. This particular Costco in Kailua Kona is frequently visited by locals and tourists. Because this is the only costco on the island, people from all over come here one a week or bi weekly to get their groceries. Keep in mind that the weekends you may experience heavy traffic! Just be prepared.
First and foremost, the staff at this location are incredibly friendly and helpful. They truly embody the “Aloha Spirit,” making our shopping experience all the more enjoyable. Whenever we need assistance or have questions about any products, they are always available and eager to help.
One of the things we love most about this Costco is the great selection of local favorites. They consistently have a fantastic assortment of new, unique, and innovative products available, and we never fail to discover something new each time we visit. Additionally, their inventory is always well-stocked with beach gear, making it our go-to spot for all our beach essentials! This is where we shop for nuts to give to our family as gifts. They also carry local restaurant gift cards to Umekes or macaroni and grill at a discounted price.
At this Costco, you can find everything you need at unbeatable prices, and that includes gas! With a gas station conveniently located nearby, it’s easy to fill up our vehicle while also stocking up on groceries, housewares, and beyond.
We also appreciate the concession area in the front of the store, perfect for grabbing a quick and delicious snack after a day full of shopping. It’s another perk that makes this location stand out from the rest.
I cannot recommend the Costco in Kailua Kona enough. Its friendly staff, variety of products, beach gear selection, and top-notch customer experience make it an outstanding place to shop, and we always look forward to our next visit. Give it a try, and I’m confident you’ll love it just as much as we do!
4 months agoLove Costco! The hot food kiosk is consistent in price and quality in all locations: Hot dog + drink is $1.50; and pizza slice is $1.99. It also has some local specialty such as mango smoothies in Hawaii. Our first stop after leaving the airport.The warehouse is clean with friendly and helpful employees. There are some good local items that we can buy to bring home for souvenirs.
a month agoOnly Costco on the island however no negative experiences. Store is very large, larger than any of the stores we have on Oahu. The Costco gas station as usual is a great benefit. We were able to find parking close to the entrance. I found what I needed in a relatively short time. Check out was fast. Not much more you could ask for.a year agoWe’ve been a member for years and whenever we’re out of town for an extended time we look for a warehouse. It’s pretty consistent and they usually have local favorites there at a decent price. The staff here are very friendly and helpful, which showed a good example of the “Aloha Spirit “. You can find just about everything here at very good price, and gas too. There’s also a concession area right in the front of the store.

We went late night on a a week day so luckily avoided the line up and the busyness. Staff checked us out efficiently. Lots of selection. Unique layout I haven’t seen in other Costcos. Good place to buy cheap souvenirs (Mac nuts, cookies) and find uniquely Hawaiian items
Excellent Costco warehouse location with standard Costco fare along with goods and merchandise found only in Hawaii locations including some made in HI booze. Staff were friendly also.
We were there on a mid week morning and store was not crowded with samples actually accessible to try.
I don’t think I’ve ever seen a Costco as big as this one. Admittedly, this is the first Costco I’ve visited outside of Canada. We were planning on going to Chinatown in Honolulu and I noticed on Google Maps that there was a Costco “nearby”. So we brought along the Costco Membership card in case we decided to stop by. I’m glad we did as we got all of our touristy shopping done here. My father-in-law wanted to get a Hawaiian shirt here and they had a whole rack of them. I even got myself one. They also had small snacks that were made in Hawaii that I purchased and brought back to Canada for some co-workers. We also took advantage of the $1.50 hot dog and pop deal. It’s more expensive than the deal in Canada as we have it in Canadian dollars. Also, they scan your membership card at the food court which is something they don’t do in Canada.
They now have added so many vegan and vegetarian options. Veggie spring rolls, impossible chicken and sausage, beyond burgers, really good mushroom ravioli (I went in today just to pick up some more).
Typically I make a lot of homemade fresh stuff but sometimes it’s nice to have something simple for on-the-go. Costco has enhanced their selection on such things to be so much better than it was before just in the past couple months. Because of the change, I now shop there regularly. The mushroom ravioli is a must purchase! It seems like everytime I go lately they’ve added another new yummy vegan or vegetarian item. 10 stars!!!!! 😄😄😄👍👍👍
