What People Are Saying: 5 Customer Reviews

  1. Wonderful place to stay. Standard setting for a great hotel experience. Staff charming and service attentive but relaxed. Rooms pin perfect with lovely details and touches. Loved the story of the buildings and resort. Expensive but didn’t resent a dollar of it (although we were very lucky to get a room upgrade to a bungalow). If you can make it part of your trip.

  2. If you want to go somewhere to be seen or people watch this place is great. The views of the ocean are terrific. However if you are interested in good food and service, take a pass. After we ordered our first course we finally had to catch a passing waiter as ours hadn’t returned in over 25 minutes. The drink pours are incredibly small! When I asked, the server announced loudly that they were 1 ounce pours! The salad was way over dressed when I asked for very light dressing. Lastly I can recognize an 8oz steak and this was not even close! We won’t be back!

  3. Book a private villa, I loved the Odel suite, 2 rooms with fireplace and a private garden patio. They can give you garden room service also a plus.

  4. Great all around . .rooms, dining, spa, restaurant and awesome service!! I highly recommend the Four Seasons Resort – The Biltmore in Monticito. AND the ocean/beach is just steps away. The grounds are Gorgeous!

Absolutely gorgeous hotel and room, enjoyed my stay. Beautiful grounds and very peaceful ambience. Loved the infinity pool and the room service was good, food was delicious. Heated bathroom floors, a fireplace, nice big tub and separate shower. I will definitely come back, if I stay in Santa Barbara again! The staff and amenities were top notch, they even gave me a gift bag and small to go gifts placed in my car with valet when I left.

Food and location where great but I wouldn’t feel comfortable coming here for a celebration again after the awful service. Our waitress was nonexistent for the majority of the meal and we wanted to give her the benefit of the doubt when the restaurant was busy but by the time our entree was cleared she only had one other table so no excuse there. Our bread was forgotten, napkins gone, water always empty and wine was poured half a bottle at a time so she didn’t have to come back. We had empty entree plates and glasses for 30 minutes before she came by to check in on us. This was also after she recommended the most expensive white wine on the menu..We had a birthday listed on the reservation and watched at least 6 tables get a dessert for celebrations and if we didn’t remind her after coffee it would have been forgotten as well.

Just magical. Such a beautiful, tranquil property. Staff is so attentive and kind. Attention to detail is on point. Breakfast and lunch on the patio were delicious and portions were generous. I’m a professionally trained chef and this was the best omelette of my life. My facial at the spa was perfect. 10/10 stay!

I came to this place for afternoon tea with my mother and it was fantastic. I would like to give a very special shout out to our waiter Peter. He is by far one of the most delightful people that I’ve ever met. This place is better than the Beverly Hills Peninsula tea room. You get a gorgeous view of the harbor. The dining room is spectacular. Other visitors who attended don’t seem pretentious at all. Very comfortable very welcoming the moment you step through the doors. I cannot sing my praises for the afternoon tea anymore than I already have. It’s $95 per person which is a good deal if you ask me. The sandwiches and desserts are top-notch. The guys who are in the valet are super sweet. I wish I could remember the guy’s name when we first entered but he was wearing glasses and he has an amazing accent, very charming and very funny. If I’m ever in the Santa Barbara area again this is my new go to spot. I highly recommend anybody who has the time to want to come in and enjoy the scenery you definitely need to go here. I’m not a big tea drinker but I got the Taurus tea and it was amazing. My mother got the Libra tea and she enjoyed hers as well. The atmosphere is relaxing, it’s elegant, and the music is perfect. Five stars all around.

I have mixed feelings about this place . The rooms have all the amenities you should expect from a nearly $1000 a night stay , and for the most part the service was good . The food was really to my liking and the service size was very small considering the price . $10 Coca-Cola was enough to get a thumbs down from me but the food just left a lot to be desired and I regret not going off property. I tried to get a recommendation from the concierge but they were busy and I was told I would be getting a call from them, but I never did . Lastly, what really soured the whole experience was the check out . No one was at the desk at 1140ish am (only a few minutes before checkout time). When someone finally attended us , I was quite frankly taken aback by how rude she was . It felt as if she was mad at us for making her work . Our bill was wrong and when I told her she basically told me to sign it and it would get fixed later. I didn’t find that to be professional at all. Why would I sign something that isn’t correct? Like I said this really soured the whole stay , as it was our final impression of them. Valet was great. Always very courteous and prompt.

Would not recommend at this point in time .

This was one of the best, cleanest most organized and roomy hotel rooms I’ve ever stayed in. I was extremely happy that the mattresses had the plastic zip up covers on them!!! So, NO BED BUGS!!!! My husband made a reservation for a room with disabled amenities. This room checked all the boxes!!! There was plenty of space to use my walker and for me to move around wearing my prosthetic foot without falling or tripping on anything in the room or outside the room. There was even a pull down bench in the shower which allowed me to shower very comfortably while removing my prosthetic foot. Our room was right in the front with easy access to our parking spot and the coffee that was available in the lobby 24/7!!! The coffee was delicious! The staff up front were very polite and friendly. We stayed here for the convenience of the short distance to UC Santa Barbara Campus where our daughter was having orientation. But, IN ADDITION to all of this, there was an In-N-Out Burger right ACROSS THE STREET and a STARBUCKS diagonally across from this hotel!!!!! I will be STAYING HERE AGAIN!!!

Sara at the front desk was friendly, courteous, professional & extremely helpful! The staff works hard to ensure guest feel comfortable & have needs met in a timely manner. Room was a good size for 2 adults & a puppy! I appreciate how clean everything is & highly recommend staying here. Thank you everyone at Extended Stay!

Not at all safe for those with food allergies or basic cleanliness standards. Kitchenettes are not well cleaned between guests, and provided cookware is absolutely filthy: caked with layers of burnt food residue. I asked front desk staff for clean cookware, but was told that all they could do was provide me with a different set of cookware that would be just as dirty, because they have no system for communicating with the cleaning service. They couldn’t even provide me with a clean sponge for me to scrub the nasty food residue off myself.

I stay at hotels with kitchenettes so I can cook for myself for allergen safety. I understand not everyone has the same standards for cleanliness as myself, but if they cannot provide a single pot or pan that doesn’t have old burnt on food, they should not be listing kitchenettes as a provided amenity.

Took a travel healthcare contract here. Drove 5.5 hrs straight to the hotel from my previous location. I arrived very early and asked if I could do an early check in. If it wasn’t possible, it wouldn’t be a problem, I could come back at a later time. Sarah who was working in the front desk was very understanding and was able to get me in early. She is incredibly friendly and made my stay enjoyable.

The room had nail clippings on the floor by the bed. As we parked outside had people smoking and drinking it felt like we were at a dirty motel. They said it included breakfast we didn’t see any breakfast. Try getting someone from the front desk no one came. It felt like there was a gang staying from what we saw. It seemed like there are people living at the hotel. The price definitely wasn’t worth it. We have been staying in many hotels in California and never heard that they are not allowed to put shampoo in the rooms. We have been traveling the entire week for work purposes and every hotel we stayed they had shampoo conditioner lotion soap. The hotel doesn’t want to spend money on this necessity. What a shame.
