  2. Messy!!! Nothing on the shelves everything is still in boxes. Not sure if they need more employees!!! But their own employees were on their phones standing and talking and not working. But they need help!!! Majority of the things were on the floor as people step on them. They need to get it together asap!!!

  3. Man-o-man where do I start…

    So I’ve been in this store couple of times. Every single time, there’s only one register open and the employees are too busy talking to each other rather than taking care of the customers. As a result, the line usually takes anywhere between 10 and 30 minutes to get through for a couple of people. I kid you not this is not an exaggeration.
    The store is a mess with a bunch of trip hazards at. Boxes scattered everywhere carts in the middle of isles. All the time. Additionally, the kids that work there, 2 in particular are extremely rude and condescending to the customers.

    Today however will be my last visit. Granted the store employees told me that I wasn’t allowed to come back, but I was never planning to anyways. Why? Well after waiting about 15 minutes in line with three other people ahead of me, I finally get to pay for my 3 dollar item. Only their credit card machine was giving my card problems and then it decided to reset. While trying to get the card to work the employees kept talking down to me and condescendingly, telling me I wasn’t being patient with the card but they weren’t paying attention because they were talking to each other. They seemed more interested in lecturing me than actually fixing the problem. After about 3 to 4 minutes of them telling me how their machine not working was my fault, even though I was a cashier for 5 years, they then decided they weren’t going to go through with the transaction. I of course thought this was absolutely absurd so to make things easier I took $3 out of my pocket, because they didn’t want to sell me the item as it was too complicated for them. Now admittedly I probably should have been the better person but at that point I was extremely annoyed for them insulting my intelligence and also refusing to sell me an item because their machine is busted, so I threw the $3 at them and walk out. Up until that point I was very low spoken and patient with them. I know the lady behind me was secretly cheering because they had just finished being extremely rude and nasty to her.

    Do yourself a favor do not support this store and watch it burn because eventually it will. It has zero management. If you find this reviewed a little too hard to believe, go ahead and stop by the store and buy a $0.99 pack of bubblegum, and all will be clear.

  5. Good place to find cheap and useful items. Staff is friendly and helpful. Store is clean and organized. Sometimes out of stock on some products.

    Good afternoon, I hereby inform you that a Hispanic female cashier who speaks Spanish and English is in the afternoons at El Dolar General located at: 11 River Rd, North Arlington, NJ 07031 Every afternoon she speaks on the phone during her work hours in Spanish in speakerphone mode and yells a lot when she speaks and when a client asks her something she gets angry and starts insulting and fighting, she is a lady of about 50 or 60 years old, when he asks her name she doesn’t want to put it She is troublesome. And she doesn’t KNOW how to serve customers, she yells a lot

    I just have to stay over yet I’m looking for the Scotch-Brite soap wand refills that do not have this ridiculous large hole in the middle you have just found what you have been waiting for and looking for for so long I know for myself even the ones I purchased on Amazon came and were different from the picture they clearly showed a double pack of wand refills with no hole & then when they arrived they were the newer version with the big ridiculous hole in the middle! Aargh! Finally, I was able to locate them, of all places, on Dollar General.com! I received a great deal, free shipping & I was even able to use a promo code so I was able to get 12 double packs (NO HOLE in the middle) for a song!!! What a great little company and their online service is awesome! They have a lot more to offer than you might think, online. I’m not saying that they’re as well stocked as many other very well-known chain stores, which I’m sure I can’t mention in my review but for a smaller chain store, they really do have some great little products that sometimes you can’t find anywhere else because they’re being purchased in such high quantities, by everyone all the time. Consequently, no one thinks to shop here. I believe that their online service & their online store is greatly underestimated!!!

    It’s clean, organized, and you can’t beat the prices in Dollar General. The staff is friendly and helpful. Plus I love the 5$ coupons on the receipt for the next week,so if you spend $25 you hand in your coupon and you get $5 off the total. It’s a GREAT incentive to shop there. They also have a large variety of items from food to toys to home decor to electronics…you name it & I’m pretty sure you’ll be able to buy it in Dollar General!!!👍👍👍

    Okay, I give then credit for bringing more food more products to the store but the lines are horrible especially the weekends the line go all the way to the back of the store. Sometimes they only have one or two register open. That’s something they have to work at or hire more people if and when they fix that, then I’ll give them 5 stars but for now I give them only 3 stars.

    This isn’t a dollar store. They sell things for like $15. If I wanted something that costs more than a dollar I would go to a regular store. Anyway, I give three stars for cleanliness, store organization, and ease of parking. I’m sure there are good deals here, just not for what I was looking for. I wanted to buy simple things that I’m only going to use once for a party. I recently went to Dollar Tree and bought 20 small items for exactly $20 plus tax. That makes sense to me. Here at Dollar General I got 3 small items for almost $5. Not a big deal, but still not a dollar store.
