What People Are Saying: 5 Customer Reviews

  1. Good food! Yes, agak sesak, especially on weekend..but they really do well in ensuring SOPs are followed, especially during this pandemic period. Siakap goreng is the main highlights here but you can’t say that’s the only tasty dish they have…udang goreng/fried prawn also really nice and not to forget, sambal tempe! And price wise, worth each penny you paid!

  2. The signature siakap goreng is fired to crispy. But comes with scale all over. Wasted on good delicious fish skin. Sambal is good, tempeh also nice. But other vegetable dishes tasted regular.

  3. Frequent visits from the 1990s.. consistent taste, nothing’s changed since then even as Pak Rahmat passed away. Business continued by his children. Parking and seating is as usual, hard so come early or best, make a reservation. Try the siakap goreng…that’s it. Nuff said

  4. It’s a bit far for JB Centre but it’s worth the journey.

The service is fast. Environment is pretty nice tho it can be a bit hot as it’s in outdoor setting.

For the food, the price is quite fair. I don’t prefer that the scale of the fish is still there, but the fish is good. It’s fresh! My favourite is the sambal tempe. The jelly kelapa is good as well. I would recommend the sambal udang too!

Had a nice meal there 🙂

  5. Deep fried seabass or siakap as known locally. Fried with it’s scales remain. Thought it will be chewy but turned out to be crunchy and quite savoury. Dipped in local sauce made of onion, lime and soy sauce. Very refreshing scenery. Having lunch by the sea. Fisherman village. Worth 30 minutes drive from JB.

As a Sabahan the tastes remind me of a place near Indonesia with Indonesian original cuisine. Tasty. Except cleanliness need to be improved. This is called gado-gado (Indonesian Salad)

Ayam penyet very delicious with the taste , the texture is not really dry and not too moist, it still juicy and cook well . The sambal is blend well , the taste and texture , pedas manjah ! Best in Johor . Keli penyet , puyoh penyet also the best to give a try ! Very recommended . Bring my fellows KL friend here, tambah dua kali ya even tapau😅

Original Indonesian Food Service is super fast However seats are quite limited as it is only a stall But the food is very cheap for me as the quantity is huge Food taste super good..just the right amount of crispiness and not too dry. The sauce complement the food perfectly Highly recommended.

It has been years since I last eaten at this place. The food remains largely consistent and better than most places in the area. My colleagues and I had the typical ayam penyet. Service is a bit slower than before or probably amplified by the lunch time hunger.

Best nasi ayam penyet I ever came across. The chicken is crispy but not dry. The prawns are huge. So many choices to choose from!!

Ayam mercon (firecracker chicken) is very spicy. Bits of fried chicken, some instant noodles, and an egg. There is a unique spiciness to the chicken due to the seasoning. Also because of the seasoning, it can be difficult to finish the entire serving. But if spicy food is your thing, go ahead.

This place has all sorts of “penyek” delicacies. The rice is warm, the foods are all tasty. We ordered daging, sotong, ayam penyek and ayam keprek?( im not sure of the name). The reason for the 4 stars is because of the sambal; the red-colored one. It was just not as good as I would like it to be. Maybe this is just me. Overall: SATISFIED

Ayam penyet is really good. Even the udang goreng, daging is all good. Price is reasonable. Really love the sambal.
