  1. Worst customer service I think I have ever head. The manager on duty was downright rude. I tried to make a return with the original receipt and they refused to give me my money back. The manager on duty claimed she wasn’t authorized with I don’t quite get because I literally had the receipt in hand. She refused to reach out to the store manager for approval. In one breath she told me she could do a refund up to a certain amount with one of my items was under and when I pointed that out she still refused to refund it. The female manager at the Heywood Rd. location should not be in customer service. I went to another location a few days later and received a full refund for my two items without any trouble.

  2. The inventory of this store is massive. The sales personnel are extremely friendly and helpful. Regular prices are not that economical but they were always running sales so you can usually find a bargain. Definitely check out their clothes out section.

  3. I would like to share my wonderful experience there. I was really impressed with one of the associates there she went above and beyond. I needed help ordering and she was able to help me bc the Simpsonville store always say they can’t order or the computers don’t work. Thank you Angalisa for all your honesty and hard work. I must say she was a team player and very Organized
    Keep doing your best and you will grow in the business part or corporate life
    You are an excellent over achieving worker. I want Belks to know that I haven’t received this kind of Treatment from the store never. God bless you young lady continued to stay brave and keep learning. The area was clear and clean as this young lady made sure she stayed busy. She was the reason I purchased other items.

  4. I visited on a Saturday. As soon as I entered the store, I was greeted by very loud music coming from the shoe department. It was so loud I thought there was a live concert taking place but then realized it was a DJ. I’m not sure how the employees could even think or communicate effectively with customers all day long. I avoided the shoe department and kept my shopping trip as short as possible. I was very disappointed that Belk thought music at that volume would be appropriate and left with a headache.

  5. Belk really is such a shell of what it once was. Fast fashion and online shopping have really just ruined clothes shopping and big anchor stores now feel more like warehouses than department stores. Everything is always “half off” to hide the level of inflation and to be in the running with the competition, and everything is self-serve. I don’t mind picking out my own clothes at all, but there really is a lost art to what we used to know as shoe departments. I hope Belk is able to last and get to their roots. Right now it seems to me like they’re just following the big box crowd and penny pinching from the bottom. I appreciated that there was nice customer service, but I miss the tone and spirit that these stores used to carry, even just a few years ago. Going forward Belk is where I’ll run for a last minute belt or tie, but I am just not impressed by their selections anymore, nor the fact that most men’s sizes do not include “small” anymore. Not a bad store, but not a good one either. Just another dying anchor with potential likely to never be harnessed.

    I love the prices on most things, but what I didn’t like was a guy sweeping around every place a go. I felt he was watching everyone or every African American. I understand every store need security but not that way. I really didn’t notice him until the third time in a different area I was shopping. That was really unprofessional, and made me feel really bad.

    My husband had a 3:30 appointment in the photo department to have a business photo done for work and wasn’t taken in until 4:40. Nice people but they really need to either get some help or schedule customers further apart to accommodate for the size of the party and minimize wait time for those up next.

    Went to this store on a Sunday afternoon to pick up an order I had made online. The poor cashier who handled online orders was also handling all returns and regular purchases. The line was so long, and that section of the store was completely disheveled. If stores can’t keep enough help, they should consider adjusting their hours.

    Do not purchase anything from this company they are a joke now. Purchased a king size bed for $900. They only sent half the bed and refused to refund half my money so now I have a $900 bed that I can’t use. I have reported the problem to the Better Business Bureau but I seriously doubt anything will happen especially in this country and it’s current state.

    I like JCPenney as a whole, but this store is very nice. The clothing selections were great as Liz Claiborne is my favorite line.
